I thought you also needed to have audio cables from cdj’s to the mixer. Some people actually have the audio cables and don’t plug the mixer with a usb (only cdj’s are usb connected to the computer). What difference that makes?
In HID mode the audio is all processed in SDJ and the DJM900NXS, the CDj's are really just midi/hid controllers. So no need for RCA's unless your playing b2b with someone on USB sticks
You don't need an audio interface like Rane SL4 for serato or something like that ? Normally you'll need one if you want to connect your cdj's to computer ..
just a question, would you know how to connect 2 cdj 1000 mk2 to serato with djm 850? I'm coming from traktor and got tired of using traktor, so im a bit of a newbie
HID Mode (the CDJ connection) works with any SDJ supported mixer. You will need Club Kit or a Serato DJ Pro license to use the DJM900enxus mixer with SDJ pro.

Hey guys is it possible to run serato dj with denon ds 1 in hid mode on cdi 2000 nexus ? as I'm not happy with the timecode cd as cz its too.... limited and can't dj at all . my computer and software stats are computer= mac md 101 softwere = serato dj 1.9.6 hardware = 1) pioneer ddi sx 2 2) cdi 2000 nexus , 900 mixer 3) denon ds 1 Also plz help me with a video link if any with denon ds 1 with hid mode cz almost all are with scratch live.Also when i try to down load the latest firm ware on pioneer website it show 1.10 or so but when i see the videos of 2015 they are like 4.33 can i know what wrong I'm doing plz.
hi Mate, I use cdi pioneer 900 and i just bought a new Mixer called Mixxar duo, I connect from the mixxar duo a usb to the computer and i connect the players to the mixer with usb....It serrate software detects the players however, music stops at a point..... I have to kinda restart the cdjs or something... it is a fault with the connection or something internal
I think the Mixars has a USB hub built on the mixer itself. It would be worth testing with the CDJ's connected to your computer or a separate hub to figure if its a problem with the mixer. Try reaching to Serato support if you need more help
2 questions. Going into setup did you have it on CDJS or Turntable. And when connecting the RCAs from the CDjs to the Mixer, Are you putting it into the Phono or CD input ?

You should hit up support.serato.com Might just be that you aren't in INT mode

No, the DJM900nxs will work as the soundcard if you have a Serato DJ license

No you don't have to unplug the cable. You can just choose the USB option and you are good.

I have a powered hub, but you can use an unpowered hub too :)

You don't need any rca cables as it's all playing through usb from laptop to turntable

whats the reason why djm needs to be conected to the computer ?
The mixer is handling the audio from the computer. while the CDJ's just control the functions in the software eg cues, loops, and track loading.
Did you have to download any drivers to the computer? For example I have an SX2 and I had to download drivers from pioneer to the computer.
Yes, you will be prompted to install drivers for the DJM900nxs upon plugging it in for the first time. No restart is required.
I found out I had to download a driver for every different mixer.. even one of each for 900NXS and 900NXS2
