Great video, Erica! Your unique introduction always brings a smile. No one does it quite like you. Thanks for sharing your work. Wishing you a wonderful holiday season and a Merry Christmas! 🤶🎅 🎄🎄 🎁🎁✨✨
Wonderful! And yes, more Ovid, please. I do love the Metamorphoses, but I'm also a huge fan of his Amores, which are so incredibly delightful, and somehow incredibly poignant even when lighthearted. Cheers!
@MoAnInc Wow that's so great. Something interesting going on there... I'd love to see a dive into his letters from the Black Sea. He must have left some hidden clues there to something or other
Oh super happy about an Ovid Odyssey. I read the Metamorphosis once but will be very happily rereading it. Although it is about.. Metamorphosis..I think it is also about silencing. So many of the stories have elements of tongues being made incapable of speech or other silencing. Anyway, I just find that interesting
(Raises hand!) Professor, I was here for Franz Kafka's Metamorphosis, Ars Notoria on learning by angels, and Goethe's Faust? I might be in a different course?
Best tonic on a dull day? A uniquely interesting ancient history channel, hosted by a young lady who's face and smile reminds me of a quote referencing Helen of Troy, of course! Thanks Erica!
My pet theory is that it is a destroyed text, that ovid had caused something which killing ovid would only cause to be copied more, so probably something accusing mr big 8s of kingness
Like the exile so far is essentially a death sentence; and then what qualms would Octavian have to not just kill him. Also my reading of ovid was ars am, meta, & then fastii Kinda hated metamorphoses
Having just been directed to your channel, I am a delighted to see this new entry today. Charm, knowledge and enthusiasm are a great combination. Thanks, Erica. Oh, and having Sicilian parentage also adds to your appeal. 😊
Enjoying all your videos about ancient authors. Also appreciating your humor, especially when it isn't appropriate 😂
Thank you :)
I’m so glad I found this nerdy little corner of the internet! Your videos are so much fun. Thanks Erica!
So glad to have you on board! 🤓

Thank you so much! I hope you have a happy Christmas, too :)
It shows that you're doing what you love 👍It's fun to see folks having fun with history
🤓
If only more Roman and ancient Greek texts had come down to us through the centuries instead of being lost...
I always smile when you upload! Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas 🥹🫶🏼✨
So excited for Ovid!
🎉🎉🎉
Am I the only guy who thinks Erica is saying, "Hello" only to me :-) Great as always...

Ovid… the ancient world’s Lord Byron & pick up artist…
Thank you, Erica. ❤❤❤
You’re welcome!
Another awesome video...thanks!
I heard Ovid's exile was revoked in 2017 by the council of Rome. Very nice.
What a joy he is!
OH MY GOD THIS IS ICONIC. www.theguardian.com/world/2017/dec/16/ovids-exile-to-the-remotest-margins-of-the-roman-empire-revoked

Ovid would have LOVED the notae

positive vibes ftw
:)
My boy Ovid! Woohoo!
🎉
Hello MoAn,
What is your best regarded English translation of Ovid? I heard Stephanie McCarters translation is quite good. What do you think?
Have you read or talked about The Satyricon? Would love to hear you disucss it
I haven’t spoken about The Satyricon yet, unfortunately :(

nobody wrote it down... so essentially if it peeved off the emperor so badly, why would you want to mention it again?
You did speak quite fast. I thought it was enthusiasm.

I think we should read Ovid more
