My puppy was so great with sleeping since the first day I got him! He goes to sleep around 9-10pm in his crate with no fuss and doesn’t wake up until around 8-9am to only go potty then right back to sleep until 11am. I’m very blessed because I love my sleep too 😭
I go to school and the first few nights my pup only cried for like 15 min then fell asleep we've had him now for maybe 2-3 weeks. We put him in his crate to sleep like at 10 and I wake him up to potty at 7:30 so that he can eat and potty before I gotta join class and I just leave him in his playpen for half the day.
Yes I was expecting my puppy to be so energetic and just all over the place. Then she just falls asleep like she woke up once walked over to me and stared for a minute then went back to sleep. Since the crate was delayed in the mail for a bit.
I guess I must have been incredibly blessed! I brought my two bundles of fur home when they were 10 weeks old. And from day one, they slept in a literal baby play pen. There is a bed in there on one end and a potty pad at the other. They slept straight through the night. They’re now 17 weeks old, and they still sleep through the night. The pen is in my room right next to me so they can smell me. And they’ve never cried at night. Of course, it might have helped that I had them on a schedule from day one. The first day, we got home in the late afternoon. We weren’t taking them outside at that age, but we set them down immediately on the potty pad. They used it immediately, and we praised and treated them. We used their names while we touched them or interacted with them, so they knew their names within the week. At about 8pm that evening (and every evening since) we sat down and I began some extremely simple commands. We also did a bit of grooming because they loved the strokes of the brush. By the time I finished brushing both and cleaning their faces and hineys, they were relaxed and ready for bed. So we were in bed by 9:30pm. Now, they naturally settle down around 8pm because they know I’ll spend some time with them training. They sit quietly and watch me, waiting. We usually do about 15 minutes at most each night before bed time and several additional times throughout the day. They’ve already learned sit, stay, lie down, come, jump, sit pretty, outside (AND ring the door jingle bells), inside, leave it, touch, kiss, wait and we are now starting to work on dance (getting them to turn in a circle standing up). They’re also comfortable in their collars and harnesses and will walk with me on a leash for short times before they get “done”. After about five minutes right now, I let them off the leash. We’ll gradually extend the time as I teach them commands like heel. One thing I did learn from here though is to feed at least a partial raw food diet. And I hand feed at least one meal a day. They immediately sit in front of me because they know they don’t get a bite if they’re not sitting. And lucky for me - feeding by hand - by fingers really - they never once used their teeth. They lick it off my fingers or my hand. Just gotta say - I love these videos and this channel. So informative, great presentation, great helper tips, and just generally a fun channel to watch. Rachel - thank you! I love your enthusiasm and your dedication not just to dogs, to rescue dogs or even to your own pets - but also to helping others with training. You’re awesome!

@@RachelFusaro Thank you for sharing yourself with the public! I got a sweet surprise last night. We had just finished our grooming routine and I went to the kitchen for some water. I came back and they weren’t there. I went looking and they were in our room sitting in front of their “bed” waiting for me! It was adorable!
Mine too! She’s a really good sleeper, I still wake up with her every 3 hours but she uses the bathroom and goes straight to sleep. She loves her crate!

Hi picked up my 2 puppies yesterday. Followed all tips, puppies did not cry once and did not have any accidents in the house!. All through night took them out every 2 hours. I know there will be accidents, but they learn so quick. Have a set of hanging bells on back door which I ring for potty time and they already know what this means. When first feeding by hand they went straight to sit position. Wow thank you so much for training ME ❤
Can't wait to see it either. Me and my dog are trying roll over to do he done 2 and never again. And we trying the quite command too which is working fab most times.

thank you so much!! day 5 of having my puppy and its been a nightmare lol. the crying breaks my eardrums she's so loud. its so hard not to yell "no" and scold when you're so fed up. patience is key! my puppy is sleeping rn and its 9:30 pm but tomorrow im gonna try to implement the technique to try to keep her up as long as possible so she sleeps through the night. unfortunately i go to bed around 12/1😅 and i get grossed out holding the food too like your mom but i still do it and it's helped so much with training! best thing i could've done lol
Your self awareness will be key, and I promise in time it gets easier. Puppies are HARD. Very hard... but they grow quickly so if you stay consistent they usually do really well!
Hi Rachel, you have been an incredible resource for us!! Thank you so much. We have a 14 week old sweet lab pup that is so smart and already knows many commands. We have hand fed her since bringing her home and it made a world of difference! She is so bonded to us and helped train her way quicker. She is highly highly food motivated though, and is a spazz when she sees the bowl and will be doing any trick she can to get her food. Although she’s doing the commands, she is usually acting pretty crazy and not calm and focused like Wally. Is that just something that will come over time, or is there something we’re not doing that would teach her to be more calm during meal time like Wally?
Do you have a video of you preparing the food Or is it something already prepared that you buying if not where do you well either way where do you get the meat from any specific store and how do you blend it together this might be silly questions but I am truly interested and would like to know more information on the food please!
How do I get my puppy to look forward to grooming wipes after coming from outside, rather than hiding away or trying to delay going inside to avoid getting wiped? I think it's more of the fact that the wipes now are getting cold as it's getting cold...
My dog takes one nap from 12 to 3. I go to bed at 10 and she sleeps then from 7 to 10 and she NEVER wakes up during the night. So that first one is false for me.
I work a job with a very inconsistent schedule and it's really hard for me to get my puppy on a schedule. Sometimes I go in at 9am and sometimes I go in at 5pm. It is a struggle
what do I do when my puppy goes to the washroom on the floor? Also thank you for these videos they are helping me with preparing for when i get my dog!
Hi Rachel, your videos are just amazing!! We will get our 8 weeks old puppy mini Aussiedoodle in 2 weeks and your videos are helping so much!! Just one question, so when we bring them outside to potty we should just say YES while they are doing but no treat right?
Qu: my puppy usually is motivated by treats. Praise n caresses doesn't really lure him... I don't know if it does. As he doesn't listen without treats that much... he gets distracted. Advice? Qu2: If i give my pup treats before bed is it bad?why ?wont it mk them full n sleepy? Qu3: A puppy needs how many minutes of exercise per day (running)? 4 months puppy? 5 m, then 6, .... Qu4: is it ok to soak their kibbles in same water level? So that it absorbs the water. So that they get more water intake? Or will it affect their food absorption in their stomach due to v diluted food?
On the practice of picking up a sleeping puppy and putting into their crate to aid crate training and comfort - is there a work around if you are dealing with a 12 week old, 30-35lb Great Dane puppy. I can and do pick him up (like when he refuses to come back down the stairs from the yard at midnigh), but, he would never sleep through it. We just brought our boy home 5 days ago and, we absolutely adore his breeder, who is a long time personal friend, but, they did not crate train.
Hi Rachel!! My puppy 🐶 didn’t go potty in the house for 3 days! 🤗Then on the fourth day she had an accident 😩 then like for 4 days she had a couple accidents in the house 🏠 but she didn’t go potty in the house today or yesterday!! 🤗 soo Idk how good were doing but she’s 10 months old and getting better 😊 I am gonna set a routine/schedule from now on ! So that should help, my plan is to take her out every 30 Minutes for a while then try every hour and see how that goes 🤗😁 but of course 15 minutes after she’s eaten or drinking water I will take her out to go potty also those green juju blue salmon treats are amazing!! My dogs 🐶 🐕 love ❤️ them!! Thanks for recommending them!! 😉
Do you have any videos that discuss very small dogs and treats and snacks that are sized for them? A pig snout is probably too big for a 10 lb dog- puppy only a few lbs now. TIA
These new videos are timely! We are bringing our first pup home this weekend. Rachel, what backpack or sling would you suggest for taking puppy (not completely vaccinated) on walks? P.S. I've been watching your videos for over a month and I feel much more confident bringing puppy home.
Hey, Rachel, my family is adopting two fur babies tonight. they’re brothers and it’s the first time we’ve brought home more than one dog. My biggest question is the crates. Can they share one? Or do they need to be separated? Please let me know.
My puppy is just 12 weeks old and this is my first week with him. He is super sensitive to me leaving him and still does not really like to be left alone in the crate. I really liked your recommendations of carrying him to his crate when he is asleep but he seems to wake every time I touch him. Maybe I have not tired him out enough?
so first off - thank you so much. so incredibly helpful for me. second - i have an 8 year old cat that my puppy tries to play with fairly often. door buddies have been purchased, and cat wall shelves are on my list for her also. any tips on how i can be more exciting to my puppy to redirect her from my cat?
I love your videos! I have been hand feeding by great pyrenees. He has learned to place and kennel without command! However, if my other dog or cat comes into the room she gets upset. Does this mean that she is becoming food aggressive? Please advise.
Tysm!! I’m glad you’re hand feeding. Some dogs get nervous eating around other animals so there could be a little resource guarding there. If it was me I wouldn’t allow my puppy to get the food until they we’re acting more calm during feeding and still give some time for them to eat in peace
Rachel we are getting a puppy next month and plan to food prep for raw diet. What machine do you use to crush the bones and mix the food. I don't want to ruin our very nice vitamix or our food processor.
Hi Rachel, I’m getting my pup, Tiggy, 🐶 in 3-4 weeks and we are looking for a raw/lightly cooked food to feed her. We are looking for a dog food that ships to the UK or is based here and I was wondering if you know of any? We looked at Forthglade and thought we were going to buy that, but they all the puppy food is out of stock apart from the complementary meals, which we were hoping to avoid, thank you! 🙃
my new puppy is coming on Friday the 28th and im so excited about her!! Her name is Olive and im nervous that she is goong to be confused as to why i go to school only 2/3 days a week when next year i will be going to shcool every day so im afraid shes goinh to be confused. Since were getting her next friday she will be with me for the whole summer but then after 3 months of getting used to me being home almost all the time im afraid she will be nervous when im in school again
Do you have any advice on getting a pup use to cats and breeds she’s not okay with? I adopted her in January; she’s about a year but she was used as bait before I had got my hands on her. She’s loving and obedient for the most part still working on her training though but I’m so nervous to get her next to my cats. She’s a Shepherd/Lab so she’s really big. She’s great with most pups as well but she’s not okay with Pitbulls or German Shepherds.
Till what age you hand feed your dog his food? Why you do it please? because else he"'ll eat too fast n develop health probs or does it help bonding only or prevent him from biting?
Hello Rachel, I love your videos 😁 Will have a puppy in 6 weeks so want to be prepared and I have two questions, 1, how long should I wait till repeating command? 2, how do I know that I can extend time for going to 1 or 2? Thanks 🙂
I'm getting my new puppy in 2 weeks. Do I put the crate in the bedroom with me at night or some other room? I've been told different things and would like to know what you think Rachel please
Hey Rachel!! I’m learning so much from your videos so thank you!! We’re bringing our puppies (PLURAL😨, 2!) home in just over two weeks and this is going to be my first puppy experience, but not my husband’s. When waking them up in the middle of the night should we allow them to drink water to stay hydrated, or will that make the process harder? I’m just not sure and definitely don’t want to dehydrate them and don’t know how long they can go as puppies without water.
Rachel is it ok to watch a movie while your puppy is sleeping in another room on the same level where the noise can't reach them too much since my puppy slept in the same room while there was noise and he still does even as a teenager he has no problem so puppies sleep even more so if they were in a different room on the same level of the house where we could still check in on them in between the pauses and breaks and there the noise couldn't reach them much would they be fine ?
I’m having trouble with my puppy eating everything literally everything she eats grass screws leaves branches stones so so many stones. I have tried redirection with toys, recall, drop it even throwing treats but no matter what she only looks at what she’s got and ignores everything else around her. Nothing is working what should I do? Thankyou!!
My vet said that I need to feed my dog kibble because that is good for his teeth and he get better poop or something😂 but when he eats raw food his poop is actually better so what do I need to do?
I believe my dog is doing pretty well. But she does have a jumping issue, and she's getting into barking, I have her in a playpen to keep her away from things she doesn't need to get to, I hand feed her and she knows sit, she's learning down, but as soon as I give her the food she just jumps up for more when I pull away. Is there anything more I can do to? Or will it gradually get better over time the more I do it?
We tried spelling out his commands to each other to ask if he’d done them yet, my very spoiled shitzu learned the spellings🙄🙄🤣🤣....he was awful with tricks but he taught himself what we were talking about🤣🤣, I love these videos but I think depending on breed my Forrest loved me talking to him like he was human, I have no doubt he understood a majority of what I was saying❤️❤️❤️❤️
My pup used to sleep indoors (not in crate) and learnt to potty train by himself by pooping n peeing near the backdoor on newspapers when indoors. Now after 2 months here now that he's 4 months, we started keeping him outdoor in a Bigg fenced area only for him and not leashed or crated (3 days back). With a kennel. But he keeps crying. And hence i feel he doesnt nap. At night by 6.30 pm we keep him back in the house. He doesn't make a noise indoors. And plays by himself whole night n sleep by himself. He is not leashed or crated indoors. How can i stop him from crying outdoors?
Dogs are pack animals and want to be inside with you. You might want to consider getting a doggy door for the times when you can’t let him out. 😊 If you have no other choices but the outdoor kennel, make sure you are playing with him, and giving him a lot of exercise each time before you put him in it. You might also consider hiring someone to come over in the middle of the day to let him out and exercise him.
Rachel is not just training dogs; she's training owners.
Preach 🙌

One day soon 😴
The Sit was cool! Just took him a few seconds
Do you have a video of you preparing the food Or is it something already prepared that you buying if not where do you well either way where do you get the meat from any specific store and how do you blend it together this might be silly questions but I am truly interested and would like to know more information on the food please!
Thanks I just got a puppy today
I just got my miniature Goldendoodle Saturday and he sleeps from 11pm-6:30am
Thanks for these tips, I just started my own series and training has been tough
Video was amazing! What kind of dog is that?
I think that's a goldendoodle puppy :)
We never had any issues with our puppies. All of them slept very well from day one. Lucky i guess.
How do you get the puppy's attention long enough to begin working on things like sit and down?
Started very small, and short durations. Puppies learn fast so it was on me to stay patient and consistent ⭐️
When should I stop hand feeding the puppy? We’re getting a goldendoodle in a couple of weeks.
Congrats my sunshine is such a doll she is a f1b labradoodle
So that should help, my plan is to take her out every 30
Minutes for a while then try every hour and see how that goes 🤗😁 but of course 15 minutes after she’s eaten or drinking water I will take her out to go potty also those green juju blue salmon treats are amazing!! My dogs 🐶 🐕 love ❤️ them!! Thanks for recommending them!! 😉
I got my puppy yesterday...lol I've never had a puppy and I got like zero sleep😣
do you have any tips or videos for flying with a puppy in cabin?
Do you have any videos that discuss very small dogs and treats and snacks that are sized for them? A pig snout is probably too big for a 10 lb dog- puppy only a few lbs now. TIA
These new videos are timely! We are bringing our first pup home this weekend. Rachel, what backpack or sling would you suggest for taking puppy (not completely vaccinated) on walks?
P.S. I've been watching your videos for over a month and I feel much more confident bringing puppy home.
I’m so happy to help!! And I love that you’re already doing research. Well done! I wish more pet parents started this early ❤️
Any suggestions on puppy backpack/carriers for walks?
where should I play with my puppy if I have a pool in my backyard and no grass backyard?
Hey, Rachel, my family is adopting two fur babies tonight. they’re brothers and it’s the first time we’ve brought home more than one dog. My biggest question is the crates. Can they share one? Or do they need to be separated? Please let me know.
My puppy is just 12 weeks old and this is my first week with him. He is super sensitive to me leaving him and still does not really like to be left alone in the crate. I really liked your recommendations of carrying him to his crate when he is asleep but he seems to wake every time I touch him. Maybe I have not tired him out enough?
thank you so much lol
Thank YOU ❤️
Wally is a star. More Wally please. 😊
Best ever comment 🔥
I agree with your puppy training process but my dad thinks that will create a bad habit to always need to go out. Do you have a deeper answer to this?
How do you calm a hyperactive puppy?
Advice please, how long should a walking leash be for a Westie adult?
omg yaaassss!💕
❤️❤️❤️
@@RachelFusaro 🥺💕
Nooo I missed the premiere 😔 Nonetheless, this video was still great :)
We missed you there, but I like seeing you in the comments. Means a lot ❤️
Diggs don't ship to Canada so do you have any other ideas on a crate?
Bummer!! Gosh I’m not as familiar with brands in Canada. I have used a standard wire crate by Midwest in the past and it held up well!
Is 7 weeks to young to train them to eat by hand?
so first off - thank you so much. so incredibly helpful for me. second - i have an 8 year old cat that my puppy tries to play with fairly often. door buddies have been purchased, and cat wall shelves are on my list for her also. any tips on how i can be more exciting to my puppy to redirect her from my cat?
I love your videos! I have been hand feeding by great pyrenees. He has learned to place and kennel without command! However, if my other dog or cat comes into the room she gets upset. Does this mean that she is becoming food aggressive? Please advise.
Tysm!! I’m glad you’re hand feeding. Some dogs get nervous eating around other animals so there could be a little resource guarding there. If it was me I wouldn’t allow my puppy to get the food until they we’re acting more calm during feeding and still give some time for them to eat in peace
how long should you wait until you repeat the command again?
❤️
Rachel we are getting a puppy next month and plan to food prep for raw diet. What machine do you use to crush the bones and mix the food. I don't want to ruin our very nice vitamix or our food processor.
She buys pre made raw food by dog and co
so many good pre made raw foods at pet stores and target!
I feed a premade food! I love bones and co (I do their social media)! I also like answers pet food and OC Raw
What food do you use
She uses raw food by bones and co
Hi Rachel, I’m getting my pup, Tiggy, 🐶 in 3-4 weeks and we are looking for a raw/lightly cooked food to feed her. We are looking for a dog food that ships to the UK or is based here and I was wondering if you know of any? We looked at Forthglade and thought we were going to buy that, but they all the puppy food is out of stock apart from the complementary meals, which we were hoping to avoid, thank you! 🙃
Can you talk more about the raw food diet and how to start? Can I do raw meat and kibble (raw meat for breakfast and kibble for dinner)?
For the transition yes but if u can’t afford complete raw it’s ok
this is what i do! :)
@@SimplySami13 do you buy your raw food from a pet store/butcher?
@@Persassyproduction_fanpage I’m new to the raw food diet, I had never heard until this week. I feel like I have so many questions.
@@mmurillo05 i buy it from petco in the dog food refrigerator section! Target has it too. i use Freshpet for puppies :)
Did you switch over to raw food gradually or right off the bat? I’m just worried about upsetting my little ones little stomach
Anyone else singing Hamilton at "Talk less, wait more"?
I would like to purchase the food you use, but as far as I can find...............not available in Ohio !! Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA
There’s a lot of other great ones too! Answers pet food and OC raw are good ones too ❤️
Your almost at 200K subs!! 🥳🥳
Also,
Is Wally a labradoodle or an Australian labradoodle?
I think he is just a labradoodle
SO CLOSE!! 😍😍 he’s an Australian labradoodle

What product do you use when your puppy has an accident in your home? (cleaning spray/deodorizer)
my new puppy is coming on Friday the 28th and im so excited about her!!
Rachel is it ok to watch a movie while your puppy is sleeping in another room on the same level
where the noise can't reach them too much since my puppy slept in the same room while
there was noise and he still does even as a teenager he has no problem so puppies sleep
even more so if they were in a different room on the same level of the house where we could still
check in on them in between the pauses and breaks and there the noise couldn't reach them much
would they be fine ?
I’m having trouble with my puppy eating everything literally everything she eats grass screws leaves branches stones so so many stones. I have tried redirection with toys, recall, drop it even throwing treats but no matter what she only looks at what she’s got and ignores everything else around her. Nothing is working what should I do?
Thankyou!!
he is so cute, is he a labradoodle or goldendoodle?
My vet said that I need to feed my dog kibble because that is good for his teeth and he get better poop or something😂 but when he eats raw food his poop is actually better so what do I need to do?
Go with your gut see what makes your dog best try a holistic vet
@@Persassyproduction_fanpage #lovearmy ❤️❤️❤️
I would highly recommend to consider a second opinion from a holistic vet! Kibble cleaning teeth is like cereal cleaning our teeth 😔
@@RachelFusaro Thank you💫❤
@@Persassyproduction_fanpage thanks for your advice💫💫
If I go to work for 4 hours & I come back & the puppy has an accident in his crate, do I just ignore it & take him outside like it never happened?
