Hi there!! I just switched my dog over to a raw food diet thanks to your videos!! ❤️ I'm alittle confused tho I defrost it in the fridge but it's still very cold. I read it's no good to microwave cuz of bones or something and not good to let it sit out either it will grow bacteria. Can they eat it cold ? Is it bad for digestion or their tummies? How do you get it room temperature?? I add some warm water but it really doesn't do much . I just wanna make sure it isn't hurting him in the long run. Thanks❤️

Hi Rachel, raising my first puppy next week (I've had dogs before and a puppy but this will be the first one I'm raising myself 😅), what would be your biggest things NOT to do on the first few days? Want to make sure I'm bringing the puppy home responsibly and safely! What kind of safety things should I be looking out for or big training no-nos in the first week or few weeks? Thanks!!
In one week I will be picking up a Morkie puppy who will be 8 weeks old. I have a 4-5 hour drive home with him. Should I travel with him in his crate or hold him? I will be in the backseat with him. Should I stop every couple hours to potty? Should I bring my current dog with me to pick him up?
Here's my question tho, will it be okay to train them thats not on schedule? for example, in a day my puppy will be crate trained in the morning, after a while i see him chewing, and jumping on the table, and later on potty, do i train him at that time too or should i focus on one kind of training per week/day? will my puppy learn different trainings a day? - Id really appreciate your advice, it gets confusing at times, thank you so much!
hi!! i just started following you and i'm obsessed! i get my baby frenchie in one month so i've been watching all your videos. i am taking 6 consecutive days off once i bring home lil Frankie - he'll be 9 weeks old - and i'm ok with taking him out to potty every 30-60 minutes during the day, and maybe every 1-2 hours throughout the night. if i'm consistent with this strict schedule for those 6 days, at what point can i increase that time in between potty breaks? i know every dog is different, but based on your experience, what do you think? (ps i have a ton more questions so i'm going to try to find you on IG or FB to get connected directly. you're AWESOME and i'm so happy i found your page!)

Hey there! I have a Shih Tzu Puppy, her name is Charlie. I'm having trouble getting her to go outside because of how very tiny she is, another problem is the actual gender, she/hes been humping toys, but she/he doesn't lift its leg to pee. I'm very confused.
LOVE all your tips! We are picking up our labradoodle in just under 2 months. She was born last week and we are SO excited. My husband and I live alone, we have some family members that were asking to come with us to pick up our new puppy, which I thought would be overwhelming for the puppy as well as confusing for it because I want the puppy to know that my husband and I are it's owners. You mention keeping a puppy's world small the first few days and weeks and I think my belief of my husband and I picking up our puppy just the two of us aligns with your reccomendation. What do you think? Plus, it's just a special moment that I wanted to share between just us that we have been waiting for for YEARS!
Honestly, we had this issue with Wally. It as AMAZING to have family there but made it harder. I find it’s less stressful for everyone involved to start the first couple of days with just the immediate family to start setting the routine and structure ❤️
@@RachelFusaro Thank you so much!! This is exactly what I thought. It's nice that everyone is excited but I don't want to confuse our little pup and overwhelm her.
Hi Rachel! Thanks so much for all your videos. It has truly helped! I’m four days in with my 8 week old pitbull Paxton “Pax”. He’s been a handful so far! I had a question regarding the raw diet. It’s been going well so far, but is it okay to switch up the type of raw meat he’s having during the day or just stick to one kind per day. (Chicken one day, turkey the next etc…) also! My puppy hasn’t gained any wait in the past few days. Is that normal!?
I just got my new aussiedoodle today but after 6pm his old mom shut down the house at 10pm. he 3mths old and not leash trained. so far he don't seem food oriented when it comes to commands
Hi Rachel! We are bringing home our 9 week old havapoo Harry this Saturday morning and your videos have been SOOOOO helpful in preparing for his arrival. The last time we had a puppy was over 15 years ago when we were young and so uneducated about how best to care for a dog. I can honestly tell you that I feel way more equipped now having watched your videos (some over and over to get the tips down ☺️) to be the best possible pet parent for our little Harry. We’ve picked up the Diggs crate, the Groov crate training tool, the Dog + Bone collar and leash, some of the Kin + Kind products, and we’re starting him right away on a raw food diet (which is something I never would have considered previously)!! Thank you so much for being such a great advocate dogs everywhere and for equipping us to be the best pet parents we can be!! ♥️
I got a puppy yesterday and her biggest problem is potty training we do not have a garden or balcony Do you have any tips??? She's a Yorkshire terrier and her name is Coco
When we got our dogs we made basically all these mistakes. I've done lots of research now but hadn't when we first got them and that's a huge mistake. No one actually told me we we're getting a puppy until I was at work the day we got them, but I would have loved to have seen this video and done research first
Thank you Rachel! Do you have any suggestions for safe ways to wipe down/ "sanitize" puppies given COVID? I know human sanitizing wipes and alcohol are a big nono for dogs, but given the current pandemic I'm wondering if there's anything that can be used to wipe them down (for times like after the vet, groomer or just people petting them before you're able to stop them)
Great question! Honestly I’d use water wipes with some natural soap. I personally am using kin+kind right now for shampoo/soap as it’s organic & works SO well. You can find it here: www.rachelfusaro.com/shop/#60f348501434f6354723cd96
hey Rachel so i just got my new puppy todays and hes called teddy he is soo fluffy and cute and its night time were i live right now and hes sleeping and didnt whine at all!!!
My black spoo puppy is 4 months old, and I named him Carlo. I love your videos, Rachel. *** Is it too late for me to start crate training Carlo now? I've had him for a month and a half already. P.S.: I have not met another Carlo yet. Any others out there?
Hi Rachel, I love your videos!!💗 My puppy loves her crate but I feel bad leaving her in there all day. When she wakes up from a nap I leave her in the play pen but she absolutely loses her mind. I feed, train, and play with her in the pen but as soon as I leave her alone she whines. What should I do?
My 5 months old puppy keeps barking in the front yard, he is used to the back yard where he sleeps but not in front. He just looks at the front door when he is in the front yard. What can I do to desensitize him barking in front?
So I brought a puppy home first foster and Made the mistake of letting him sleep in the bed with me. Crate training has been a huge issue now. I've done lots of treats and Kong's with treats and he still cries and barks.
When we bring a puppy home, if it’s our own backyard, I take them to the back. You can also use a fresh patch potty pad, too! ua-cam.com/video/APn-QnUbq0s/v-deo.html
What about after the puppy is “potty trained”? How often do you take out a 12-16 week old puppy out to potty? When do you start spacing out potty breaks? Especially at night? Also, what about of you have to work for 9 hours? Can you leave puppy in playpen with like grass patch or litter box? Would that be confusing to a dog?
Great question! I think I need to make a schedule. Once they’re older, I increase time between potty breaks gradually - but keep in mind puppies often regress at ~6 months old and so being consistent is key!
It depends on the breed as well! Bigger breeds can typically go longer between potty breaks. I have a 12 week old and he can last the whole night without needing to potty but he’s a big dog at 31 pounds.
@@RachelFusaro Thank you, could possible make a video about a realistic schedule with a growing puppy? Especially for people that work outside the home.
How long do you think crate training should last? I’ve only had him exactly one month (12 weeks old now) and he’s fully potty trained using grass patches and understands basic commands already. The first two weeks we played in and around the crate and we stopped and only really put him there at night now or when we have to leave. He goes in himself sometimes but not for long. Starting back making his crate Disneyland today and will have him eating his meals and playing in it again so he doesn’t think it’s only for bedtime
One of my puppy is 11 months old and her name is Charlie (poodle), my other puppy is almost 5 months and his name is Gustave (cockapoo). I did the same mistake you did with Bentley :( When Charlie was a puppy, I brought her everywhere! She developped separation anxiety, I'm working on it but it's still a work in progress. I started crate training on day 1 with Gustave, we learn from our mistakes :) I've always been very interested in the Groov toy, but it is so pricy... Especially when you have two puppies
I just took my 12 week old and it didn’t really take much introduction. I just slowly walked him in on the leash. I would go to a shoreline and not just directly into deep water. I also had a life jacket on my dog just to be safe.
@@miranda5654 unfortunately nothing from personal experience. My puppy sleeps in the bathroom with a baby gate which works really well and he doesn’t ever go to the bathroom in there. He loves it in there, goes in there on his own during the day. It’s great bc I have a place he can go during the day where he can have a little room to play so I don’t feel bad about cooping him up in a crate during the day when I need to get stuff done. Sometimes he’ll sleep in the kitchen with the baby gate during the day which gives him even more room.
The only real issue with my Daughters 5 month old Cockapoo Lyla, is when she picks something up from the ground that she's not meant to have like tissue paper or dropped food[ or even her poo sometimes with accidents ] she will bite when trying to remove it from her.remove her from it, also if she falls asleep at bedtime and we try to lift her, she has started growling. What can be done? She is a sweet girl other than this.
I thought I'd timed my vacation week for when id be bringing my new Aussiedoodle puppy home but it's been thrown off by a week now 😩 wanted to get your opinion on bringing my puppy to work with me the first few weeks... I mean screams bloody murder for HOURS…. We just got a puppy pin and we are trying this out first instead of the crate.. he seems to not mind it nearly as much.. still cries but less. But he gets so anxious and cried soooo loud anytime he can’t see me.. like he’s in the bathroom with me while I shower and he can’t see me through the shower curtain and he whines… pls help idk how to even leave him for 2 minutes without him freaking out

can you please talk about more raw dog food brands specifically? In one of your other videos you say OC Rae, answers, "primal has some good ones," small batch, bones & co. but you never went into any detail at all or say which primal ones were good- im following your channel and recently switched my dog to OC raw last week but it is hands down the most expensive raw fresh frozen dog food at my local independent pet store and I dont think I can afford it long term. I have a 4mo old australian shepherd and I really would like some more in detail comparisons of brands and possibly cheaper options than OC raw.. my pet store does have primal but since you said they only have a few good ones I dont know what to get. They also have stella & chewy and signature raw frozen food, both of these are SIGNIFICANTLY less expensive than OC raw but I'm not sure if they are good for my pup. I would really really appreciate a reply to this comment if possible so I can keep my puppy on a raw diet forever... and OC Raw's $37-$60 bag per week for my puppy at 30lbs (and will last even less than 1 week as she grows and weighs more) is completely unsustainable... the other brands range from $20-$40 per bag which is much more reasonable please help!
Yes yes! I will work on a video like that BUT, it’s tough bc brands change SO often. And it seems like a full time job to keep up with them 😜 Honestly this video will probably help the most. It outlines what I look for specifically, so you can apply to picking a food that fits your budget ua-cam.com/video/HxMv6T1im1k/v-deo.html Also remember, I’m a big advocate and believer that even a small amount of fresh food can make a HUGE difference ✨❤️🐶

Thanks❤️
My puppy's name is Dolly and she just turned 4 months old. She is a cockapoo and a sweetheart! She is never aggressive or mean and loves everyone and every animal she meets, but she bites a lot during play and any time she wants our attention! Any tips for excessive play biting?
Hello! I would love if you can do in-depth video of ingredients in dog foods. Since I have been wondering what is Ash? How much of it should be in your dogs treats and food?
Ohhhh, what a brilliant topic idea 🤓
@@RachelFusaro Thank you I look forward to hearing you talk about it in a future video. I also would like to know if Bones & Co will be producing Goat and/or Sheep Kefir in the future?
i’m getting my puppy literally today 😭😭 can’t wait
My dog used to use the bathroom in the house all the time until we brand him outside one day and since then he scratches on the door 1 time to let us know he wants do you outside since we currently don’t have a doggy door, dont worry, he doesn’t leave scratches on the door!
How much time of cuddling is reasonable for 3 4 weeks old toy poodle? My son will want to hold him forever, I need to know how much should I allow.
We have had our puppy for almost 3 weeks! She is a red tri Aussie! Her name is Echo!
hi!! i just started following you and i'm obsessed! i get my baby frenchie in one month so i've been watching all your videos. i am taking 6 consecutive days off once i bring home lil Frankie - he'll be 9 weeks old - and i'm ok with taking him out to potty every 30-60 minutes during the day, and maybe every 1-2 hours throughout the night. if i'm consistent with this strict schedule for those 6 days, at what point can i increase that time in between potty breaks? i know every dog is different, but based on your experience, what do you think? (ps i have a ton more questions so i'm going to try to find you on IG or FB to get connected directly. you're AWESOME and i'm so happy i found your page!)
My dog is 18 months and his name is Benji. We went out for 9 hour walk yesterday we were walking around really nice place Benji was walking great and he didn't pull much but this video will really help me thanks
That's amazing Maja, great work with Benji!! Reminds me of my lab's name, Bentley.

What kind of products do you use for potty accidents?
Hi there! I've been binging on your videos! I bring my brand new baby girl pug home in a few weeks. I'm over the moon! Wondering, if they have an accident in the house do you also then take them outside asap? Great content! Thanks for all of the great tips and hacks!!

My puppy is coming home on the 27th of august and she’s called Vera Blue x
You should do a day in the life of your dogs!!
Yes yes!
I just got a golden doodle puppy today and his name is Duke!
I just got my new aussiedoodle today but after 6pm his old mom shut down the house at 10pm. he 3mths old and not leash trained. so far he don't seem food oriented when it comes to commands
😍😍😍
oh and his name is teddy Bear
I got a puppy yesterday and her biggest problem is potty training we do not have a garden or balcony
Do you have any tips???
She's a Yorkshire terrier and her name is Coco
Awh cute name! And yes, try this: ua-cam.com/video/Xt9VH-Asc1k/v-deo.html
When we got our dogs we made basically all these mistakes. I've done lots of research now but hadn't when we first got them and that's a huge mistake. No one actually told me we we're getting a puppy until I was at work the day we got them, but I would have loved to have seen this video and done research first
OK thank you so much
How long do you advise taking puppy out every 1-2 hours?
Awesome advice
Perfect timing, I’m bringing home my puppy in 6 days ❤️
Woo woo!
Me in 2 days! Hope the days go by quickly for you!
My puppy’s name is Atlas. Thanks for all your tips!
hey rachel where do u buy your dog toys! and how many of each type of dog toys should i get my dog don’t want to buy too much or too less!
Hi hi! I share many here: www.rachelfusaro.com/shop
@@RachelFusaro I just realize Kin+Kind has something call the Waterless Bath- what are your thoughts on those?

My black spoo puppy is 4 months old, and I named him Carlo. I love your videos, Rachel. *** Is it too late for me to start crate training Carlo now? I've had him for a month and a half already. P.S.: I have not met another Carlo yet. Any others out there?
I am getting my auusiedoodle puppy in 9 days and these tips are great!
Oh good!!! Great timing. Keep me posted on how your pup is! ❤️
Hi Rachel, I love your videos!!💗
My puppy loves her crate but I feel bad leaving her in there all day.
Parvo is rampant in Texas. Do you think it's ok to take them outside in the backyard before their shots? Cats or wild animals may roam the backyard.
When we bring a puppy home, if it’s our own backyard, I take them to the back. You can also use a fresh patch potty pad, too! ua-cam.com/video/APn-QnUbq0s/v-deo.html
I’m getting 2 puppies next week and I’m exited but at same time nervous because I’ve never had a puppy just 2 fishes and they died 💔
Hi Rachel, Is it ok to take you puppy to a fresh patch of grass in your balcony if they are not fully vaccinated?
from what age should you start working on getting the dog to sleep through the night without potty breaks?
they do it naturally. you take the dog out when it needs to.
@@ccap3211 oh wow! Ye mine will be small. I’m getting a toy poodle around the end of the year.
@@Svet-Lana2022 aww those are the cutest!
Crate training is totally different for most dogs, but can be done in 1-2 weeks with a lot of consistency!
All we can do is learn and improve! You got this ❤️
I tried it, but she cries so loud when I leave even to the other room. What do you do when you come back in?
Can you talk us through introducing your dog to water/the beach for the first time?
Also, do I use a kennel or a crate?
I just took my 12 week old and it didn’t really take much introduction. I just slowly walked him in on the leash. I would go to a shoreline and not just directly into deep water. I also had a life jacket on my dog just to be safe.
@@ccap3211 Cool, thx so much 😊 Any tips for the kennel or crate?
@@miranda5654 unfortunately nothing from personal experience. My puppy sleeps in the bathroom with a baby gate which works really well and he doesn’t ever go to the bathroom in there. He loves it in there, goes in there on his own during the day. It’s great bc I have a place he can go during the day where he can have a little room to play so I don’t feel bad about cooping him up in a crate during the day when I need to get stuff done. Sometimes he’ll sleep in the kitchen with the baby gate during the day which gives him even more room.
love love these videos!!
How long do you need to stimulate a puppy/ dog mentality when using a puzzle toy to be able to totally tire them out?
Every pup is different, I find 3-5 sessions of enrichment works great for many as a start!
I have a question so my dad said we could foster a puppy but I cant find a shelter what do I do?
I’d google “dog rescue” + your city
The only real issue with my Daughters 5 month old Cockapoo Lyla, is when she picks something up from the ground that she's not meant to have like tissue paper or dropped food[ or even her poo sometimes with accidents ] she will bite when trying to remove it from her.remove her from it, also if she falls asleep at bedtime and we try to lift her, she has started growling. What can be done? She is a sweet girl other than this.
Yes yes! She sounds so sweet. I’d definitely try to teach leave it, here’s how: ua-cam.com/video/FDIXgFxqMMY/v-deo.html
I thought I'd timed my vacation week for when id be bringing my new Aussiedoodle puppy home but it's been thrown off by a week now 😩 wanted to get your opinion on bringing my puppy to work with me the first few weeks... I work at an Optometrist office BUT my doctor has a ranch out here in Texas so we have all kinds of baby animals in and out of here, our patients love it actually lol! Baby goats, rams, deer, dogs we've had it all! So my managers are fine with me brining puppy Motley with me, I just want to know if that's a good idea? Otherwise she'd be at home with grandma all day and I don't want to put all that work on grandma... Like I said I had planned my vacation for the week I thought I'd be bringing her home but pickups been changed so I have to adapt! Bring your puppy to work, bad idea or make it work!? Help!

And it seems like a full time job to keep up with them 😜
Honestly this video will probably help the most. It outlines what I look for specifically, so you can apply to picking a food that fits your budget ua-cam.com/video/HxMv6T1im1k/v-deo.html
Also remember, I’m a big advocate and believer that even a small amount of fresh food can make a HUGE difference ✨❤️🐶

I'm so mad at my mom for bringing back a puppy without buying anything or knowing anything abt training a puppy first day. now i have her for a week and she's free roaming, she dont understand potty training, she won't stay in the crate. i literally cant control her.
when i watch this video i got even madder for not getting properly prepared. First day can be such an important day for puppy to know their boundaries. I guess my puppy is uncontrolable now. Great video nonetheless.
