Monsoon is honestly so meta. Expresses that memes are extremely impactful for our understanding of the world. This obviously becomes a meme about how he takes memes too seriously, which impacts people's perception of how memes actually have no impact on how people think. Thereby proving Monsoon correct.
MGS:R has proven time and again to be exceedingly well crafted for this reason, among others. While it remains a hack-and-slash cyborg beat-em-up, it's still a commentary on our society and it's flaws- and successes. MGS is full of these kinds of golden lessons, if you look beyond the surface. Even the fact you can reply MGS:R over and over speals to Sam's point, about accepting what you are: he feels Raiden (and by extension, the player) needs to stop feeling like a monster, and simply do what needs be done, in this case, murder. It isn't until Raiden takes up Sam's sword- a weapon, not a tool- that he embraces it. And then, you, as the player, finish the game... And find yourself trying to beat your previous best- harder difficulties, faster times, challenges, and so on. No longer are you concerned with the morality of your actions, just what your objective is. These nameless people you heard screaming at you in act 3, wanting to go home and forget the war? You stop emphasizing. Instead, you're annoyed it takes so long to progress through it. They stopped mattering, their fears and hopes, because you know they don't involve you beyond being an obstacle in your way. In short, you become what Sam, and later Armstrong, believes- the strong, making the choice of violence for the sake of themselves. Not Justice- but Vengeance. Against the bosses you struggled with, against the weaker you who couldn't keep up, against the system that contains you. No longer are you a tool, but a weapon. So yeah, pretty neat.
Well, what we define as "meme" is not what Monsoon is talking about. He refers to ideologies, behaviours or styles that get spread by culture or different means. It's not the idea of "funny pic hehe" that gets taken seriously. We call it propaganda, because there's a goal behind those "memes".

From Raiden's perspective, this is exactly what Sam's psychological warfare on him feels like. Sam's mockery of his cause is exactly "enjoy[ing] your weakness and start running for your life". But, of course, Raiden embraces the killing and death he's inflicted, since, if he is the same as his foes, why not behave like them *towards* them? I'm interested to hear your take on Return to Ashes, or even A Soul Cannot Be Cut. The first one I think you'd do a very good take on it, since it's essentially the prelude to Collective Consciousness in a roundabout way; we even see Armstrong in the hacked cyborg's memories talking to the Mexican brain scientist, so that's gotta count for something.
Is it bad that after this, I just want the band to start making up Metal Gear Rising characters to give theme songs to? Because every single one of these has been impossibly good. Yet another banger here, major props!

Light Up и Little V прям взрывают своим голосом, тот же The Stranger I Remain на этом канале прям топовый, максимально высекают громко и чётко слова песни, а главное эмоционально, или у V кавер на Rules of Nature, тоже прям орёт, рвёт и мечет. А сегодня вышло наоборот, оригинал как-то больше играет голосом что-ли на моменте AND IT WILL COME, а тут более менее однотипный голос, хотя обычно певица вообще не стесняется петь обычным голосом а потом взрываться высокими нотами где это надо. I was always wondering what your cover of the stains of time would turn out to be. But WOW, you made the song more nihilistic than I thought possible, AND I LOVE IT. Some parts were a bit awkward, but in the end, the cover is fantastically well done, ESPECIALLY the second verse and chorus, my God those lyrics are just, damn they are just phenom-enal! When I heard The second verse and chorus, i begun think about how relating this is to a character of mine, whom has been forced to be "Giving into the warm and all consuming pain", and left with nothing other than survival, "And I will never rest until the day I die! What I love about this cover specifically is how it feels like a full length song with the extra lyrics and repeated chorus at the end. Kinda makes me wish we had a full album of the sountrack.
