  • A short video describing a common hesitation on acceleration problem with Hyundai 2000-2004 2.4 liter motors. Timing belt tensioner failed. Also inspect the crankshaft position sensor for damaged or melted wires. I decided to go ahead and replace the crank sensor on this vehicle.

I'm a seasoned shade tree mechanic and very familiar with this engines similar to this borrowed from mitsubishi technology. I have been chasing misfire codes and cannot seem to sort it out. As a matter of maintenance on a 2.4 2004 santa fe I did plugs, wires and coil boots and changed a timing belt. No real change. I decided to just throw some parts at it since it was cheap enough and I lack some better diagnostic equipment. Put a new fuel pump in (mostly because the gauge wasn't acting good either). No change. It isn't consistent. Today I swapped in new coils. Car runs ok but it still flahses a check engine and has a very brief misfire but it's hard to feel. It isn't a hard misfire. Not usually and it hasn't done it since these latest changes although I haven't driven it much since then. It hasn't set a hard code yet. Pending codes were the same p0301 and P0304 1 and 4 cylinder misfires. I'm down to ignition transistor module and possibly ECU.
Other than possible mechanical problems but that seems unlikely. It has 189k miles and runs well until it misfires. Fuel trims look good. o2 sensor is a few months old. Coolant temp is good. It goes into closed loop as it should.

This is not the video I needed: My Hyundai 2011 Sonata(pronounced Yon-die), jerks and sputters when accelerating - once I get up to forty MPH it runs smooth, unless you get going up hill, then it will jerk and almost come to a complete stop. Won't run passed 1500 RPM.

I have Yukon Denali 2013. Would like to change the radio screen for new Android with airplay. But due to the connection sockets sizes from normal Yukon. I could not find the right screen without having to cut and reconnect wires. Is there a solution for this problem please.
