    Do you remove the old manure when you give more manure next feeding because the pot is full to the top?

    • @vongcohuong
      @vongcohuong  2 роки тому

      If you plant in pot, after 5 -6 years you need to cut the old manure and plant in new pot, as over times roots will over grow, anh you fine the is no soil.

    How cold can dragon fruits take it ? Do they ever need to be covered ?
    Is horse manure a good fertilizer for Dragon Fruit ?
    I use horse manure for all my plants and they thrive. But I'm not as familiar with these plants and what fertilizers to use. Or if they like alkaline or acidic soil. I assume alkaline.

    When you get those little growths, how long does it take for them to get bigger? I've been seeing and reading up on this for a while now and everyone says when your dragon fruit cutting gets a root system established and starts growing new branches the new branches can grow an inch or an inch and a half a day. I have a couple of cuttings that started growing a new branch about a month ago and up untile now the new growth is an inch long. Its growing very very slow. Am i doing something wrong or is this normal for now?

    • @vongcohuong
      @vongcohuong  6 років тому

      Hi. It really is normal. As it depends on where you live . As each part the weather is not the same . As for me if 4 new growth starts to grow on 1 older one. I just cut 2 and leave 2 . That way the 2 left grow faster.

    Are all species self pollinating? They only have white ones at the nursery here, I want to buy just one but they don't even know if they are self pollinating variety or not :L

      Not all species/varieties are self-pollinating. I bought a few from Cal Poly Pomona Nursery and their website has a lot of varieties for sale (though shipped only to California addresses), but that website has info on whether a particular variety is self-pollinating or not.

      Also look at the thread where it say, it may need another variety to cross-pollinate. Also try hand-pollinating

    hi i have a few questions?! how big/size are the pots you are planting? what is type of soil mix do you use and prefer to use? i have a monster size one grow in a huge pot and i need to cut some of the legs off and plant them into a new pot. my huge one is like 2 or maybe 3 years old. what type of dragon fruit do you have like color of fruit inside it and are they self pollination or cross or hand?
    mine i have 5 types/color of mine. the biggest one is a white hand pollination one. my second white is a self pollination. my third is a redgish self pollination, my forth is a self pollination reddish/purplish color and finally my firth is a pinkish/purplish color that is cross or hand pollination, i think cross lol.
    one last thing, in Australia do you have different kinds of dragon fruit that have names of the plant, so you know which kind you want to buy so you dont keep buying the same one if you didnt like that kind? in florida usa we do. this is the company in my state that sells all different kinds of dragon fruit to all over my state/other states and lots of different countries. google pine island nursery if you want to see like 30 different kinds.color of dragon fruit or tons of different kind of tropic fruit plants
    thanks

      volker11 - Hi, I normally plant them in the ground, but this one was plant in the pot as I don't have anymore space, and with this one is more to make video clip to show other how I plant my dragon fruit, and to see it it will fruit in 1 year or not. with the soil I use garden mix and with cow compost, other people like to use mushroom they work well. if you have a 2 or 3 years it is time to cut and plant in new pot, I find that growing them in pot after 3 years they don't have much fruit and they don't have new growth as much. with all my plant when there is 3 to 4 new growth I just rid of them just leaving 1 new growth per plant. so it be nice and neat. and growing in pot after about 2 years they don't have any soil left in there. the type of dragon fruit I have, truly I dont really know, I have about 3 only but after planting them in the same ground same frame there kind of like cross pollinated so there is 2 other type. with the name I really don't know, as we had friend gave them to us in the first time, then down the years we just collect from other friend. In Australia there is nursery that sell them and they do have name, but must of us here living in Sydney they just go to friend that have dragon fruit and ask for a cutting. :) . which the cutting is about 70cm long. they will grow faster then the on in nursery only have cutting about 15 - 20cm. and all my dragon fruit is self pollinated.

      @spookytay 9 років тому

      Hayden Hayden I think you need atleast 2 different plants and transfer pollen from 1 plants flower to another (assuming it's inside or there are no bes, bats, or other insects in your area to pollinate it (them)

I need to get a big pot and some wood . We have a Asian store that sell good mango fruit . The American store Mango fruit never gets ripe . it always turn bad and stays green . But not the Asian mango fruit store fruit mango's .

      Hi, thank you for your comment, this video is just updated from the video 1 year from this clip. I made another clip 3months from that showing it has fruits ,but i didn't upload as i list the clip. As I'm not a dragons fruit farmer, I m just growing as a hobby, but on other video that I made. I have show and try to answer, as much about how I grow, watering, fertilisering and about the weather, but I can only tell people how I grow to where I live. As a hobby there is really nothing to hide. Sharing the experience, others happy ,
      Cheers
