- The one and only Barney McKenna talking about the music he learned in his childhood and then playing a few tunes on the auld squeeze box, starting with a Bavarian dance tune, the "Haushammer Schuhplattler", then moving on to the original Irish "Cork Hornpipe", which he used to play as a mandolin duet with John Sheahan about twenty years ago.
What a joy this man was as I am surrounded by miserable people all day long who could use a bit of music therapy of the McKenna prescription

Barney lovely Soul 🌈🌈🌈🙏
Yes, O´Neills books mentioned both names to the same tune. For some reason, the name Harvest Home became by far the most well known.
AW jeeez Bless ya Barney! RIP
Damn, that's nice.
❤❤❤❤❤
Da oid Barney, genial, wie er den Haushammer Plattler mit dem Cork Hornpipe mixt, mit der diatonischen Ziach
"Tea and coffee for the pause". Pause is German for "break". The Dubliners have often made fun of their German-English pidgin.
@niksen123 Apparently it goes under two names, Cork or Harvest Home. The Dubliners recorded it as Cork Hornpipe on two mandolins.
