- On this episode of #TBWD, the Rich Cacao Harmony Collection release from Macallan at 44% is opened and reviewed. This Highland Single Malt is a great way for the #TBWD team to end Season 4. It takes a second for the crew to understand that they are having a Cacao whisky, not a chocolate dram; once that is realized, this Scotch Whisky is thoroughly enjoyed, appreciated, and decimated. Happy New Year! Funny you mentioned the Glenmorangie Signet. My wife just got it for me as a New Year's gift. I'll be toasting 2024 with it tonight! And then going to bed early 😂. Slàinte mhath to all at TBWD! 🥃
You will LOVE the Signet (if you haven't had it before), especially if you love chocolate notes. The Signet was our NYE bottle last year. Rumor has it that the Signet contains some 35-40yo Glenmorangie in the mix. Cheers!

I've had this one, and I would say it was one of the least interesting Macallans I've tasted. Not being a Macallan fan in general that's saying a lot! - This thing is around 220 Euros around here now and that is an INSANE price for such a young feeling whisky. The Macallan 18 used to be my favorite but that thing is way too expensive now.

Yeah, it took us a second...but we focused on what it offered rather than trying to compare it to known Chocolate examples (Signet for example). Once we wrapped our head around that, we found (and especially our wives) that the subtlety of the whisky became quite enjoyable. We are still finding it here for under $200 USD...and the bottles we bought were $159...that felt reasonable. Cheers, Happy New Year, and thanks for all your contributions this season!!
