They were magical before Jerry died, then they became pure bliss for years to come after we lost Captain Trips. Thank you Trey for being there when we needed ya most of all.
Thank you for posting this up! I was fortunate enough to see 11 Phish Shows in 1994, from The Beacon Theatre Run to NYE and this by far is my favorite show of that year. We all knew of this moment was history in the making, and the band and the audience collectively hit out of the park ! No Cellphones and Social Media to distract, just pure frenetic energy and bliss. This year’s 30th Anniversary of this show is the only in person Phish show I will attend in 2024. I’m going back to the same spot I was 30 years to the night: back of the floor, far Page Side. It was seats on the floor then, and by the luck of the gods, I had the far left aisle seat next to the hockey boards. Can’t wait to get back! 🤘🏼🪩🕺🏽🤘🏼
A few days before this show I was driving and heard Frankenstein on the radio and I was thinking Phish could cover that and rip it apart. Unbeknownst to me, they did cover it. So given I scored 3rd row page side rage side from the box office 20 mini b4 the show ($22.50-no fees!), and this being my 4th show, when they busted out Frankenstein encore after this epic show on 2hits strong Lucy, I was literally speechless. I literally couldn’t talk I was so totally blown away. Then and there I vowed that no matter what I’d see phish for NYE1999-2000. Which at the time no one knew it would be Big Cypress. Anyhow. Great fucking show, so glad it’s documented and still making me happy.
I miss this phish...... So fucking much!!! Did Damn near every show from end of 94 thru 99... Not international.... This IS the Phish I fell madly in love with...... ❤💛💚 thanx for sharing. ( side note I don't ever really remember going to my assigned seat for my ticket but I'm usually up in the mid levels for MSG shows. I like to cut a mean rug. I miss my dreads since I'm being nostalgic. Anyway thanks again for sharing
You saw almost every show 6 years in a row? Did you ever get a weird feeling when Trey asks "don't you see anything that you'd like to try? You now I kid. That's a lot of shows.
Same. I miss the old Garden layout where one staircase on each side went all the way up. The press box seats we would get occasionally and be able to watch random movies in setbreak like "Happy Gilmore" one year. The Yankees in the post season October '96. So many great memories since this first MSG show in '94. This 30th Anniversary is going to be special and my first show back in 6 years. 🎉
SET 1: Wilson, Rift, AC/DC Bag > Sparkle, Simple, Stash, Fee[1] > Scent of a Mule, Cavern SET 2: Sample in a Jar, Poor Heart, Tweezer, I'm Blue, I'm Lonesome[2], You Enjoy Myself, Purple Rain > Hold Your Head Up, Harry Hood, Tweezer Reprise ENCORE: Frankenstein
Any chance the previous night's show in Providence was taped and more importantly, that said tape still exists, preferably in the care of someone like yourself, i.e., who's able to disseminate it in such a way that a great many sets of Phan eyeballs can visually feast upon the tasty jams therein (or at least in the possession of someone with the good sense to put it into more capable hands) BC it's a tasty one. The Bowie alone is fuggin bonkers 🤯🤡👽🫢🫣🥴 Regardless thanks for everything! You are appreciated more than words are capable of expressing

30th Anniversary of the first MSG is coming up this year. Fingers crossed for Purple Rain but I hope for Rift heavy night with a type 2 Tweezer. 🔥
That Tweezer on 12/30/94 is the OG Type II . Still my favorite Tweezer witnessed!
The 'A Live One' Wilson!

Fun fact this is the first time they ever played MSG and this Wilson version is on A Live One. Cool to see the video of it.
This Stash = Evil Phish 😈
Granted I'm only 15 minutes into the show, but this AC/DC BAG is a hot one. Based AF, so the kids would say.
They were magical before Jerry died, then they became pure bliss for years to come after we lost Captain Trips. Thank you Trey for being there when we needed ya most of all.
Our first MSG show! ;)
Had third row page side rage side for this show. Changed my life forever
Awesome ✌️

I remember seeing this show on VHS in 97 or so. Was hooked!! Watching this tonight for my Bday!

I was right there with you. Probably saw 100 shows during that span. Was definitely their prime imo. Happy I was there to see it

Thanks for sharing. Its great to see these guys at such a relatively early stage of the journey.
Check out the AC/DC bag from UIC I think 2000. Or 99. It was 1 of four songs in the 2nd set. Dripping w awesomeness.
❤️
I miss this band so much.
Lucky for you, they are still touring! Blossom in less than a week!
