As an older, seriously casual gamer who found Stadia ideal for my needs, this seems like worth a go. I have good internet, and a prime subscription and I will probaby find a game to play from the 'limited' catalogue - so I will give it a try. Thanks for the summary.
I bought the Luna controller from Amazon maybe a year ago, and I got to try it out over Christmas (that's how casual a gamer I am)..... I have to say it all works very well so far. Bought the latest Far Cry game and no issues with lag or connectivity (playing wirelessly through a deco mesh in the adjoining room). So yes, I am happy with the platform although I think the choice of games to play for free are a bit limited. @@devan.darrell
I've been retiring my ps4 for some time in favor of trying Luna. As far as portability and mobility goes, Luna is far superior to Playstation, especially when speaking specifically PS+ Cloud gaming. I fix cell towers for a living to many times I'm stuck in a car. I've been playing Luna on my iPad (iPad Air 2) with my work phone as a hotspot (unlimited data for the win). I don't always have 5G or even 4G LTE. I'm actually surprised how well Luna works. I don't use the Luna controller outside my home, hotels, airports and parties. But when I do, I connect the controllers to wifi. Otherwise, I bluetooth connect either my Xbox, PS4, or PS5 controllers (whichever I have easier access to at the time). I haven't really felt any difference between the luna wifi controller (mostly played on TV via fire stick) or Bluetooth connected controllers (via iPad or Samsung Galaxy Fold 3). I've played this at Starbucks and different other coffee shops (don't ever try bothering wifi connecting luna controllers. It's not going to happen because of their landing pages. Just stick with a bluetooth connected controller). I've played on the road via 4G, 5G, and LTE (even a less than decent signal is more than good enough to run luna smoothly). And I LOVE Luna. I've been hooked on Resident Evil, BlazeBlue Cross Tag Battle, Grid, and Megaman 11. If you're wondering about local multi-player, I've used all sorts of scenarios to play 2 players on BlazeBlue and they all work (2 luna controllers via wifi, 2 bluetooth controllers on both android and iOS, you name it - it works). Hiccups are unnoticeable for the most part, but they happen (very "meh" about this issue. You probably won't care very much for it when it happens). I do wish the luna+ library was a little bigger, but official launch was only a few months ago. I hope we see more promising things within the next year tho! If you've read this far, as you can tell, I've really been giving Luna a fighting chance and really testing it out with what my job has me doing traveling all over the place. If you have any questions, reply and I'll be more than happy to answer anything I've already figured out.
Firestick Max is epic. Made my 15 year old Vizio TV into an instant Blockbusters and GameStop, just through a wireless internet connection, total cost was $40.
I love my Samsung TV gaming hub. I play Amazon Luna and I just won the past 3 games on Fortnite and that was with a PS4 controller so definitely worth it. I am beating hardcore console and PC gamers. I love it I get access to a ton of good games just with Amazon sub. And even better with Luna+ I can play anywhere multiple different ways
I could barely play it with cheap service. But I Would submit you need rock solid wifi more than you need it to be crazy fast. Good strong signal. Also depends on the game. Graphics are really impressive on racing games like Dirt 5 and Hotwheels, but they will put your internet speed and wifi signal strength to the test.
I have a Latin family so that means loads of nieces, nephews, and cousins … I got the Luna controller for the price (plus I already use tons of amazon stuff) and I’m checking the games out rn and the local co op games ARE AMAZING I am looking forward for buying a second controller to have access to that! I don’t have the best internet so I had to lower the resolution (I think that’s what it’s called) and that fixed the problem so we’ll I literally haven’t had any issues since then!!! I recommend :3333 Kinda wish it had Fortnite tho it would be the cherry on the top but even the children games are FUN aswell
With finances getting even tighter, this could be a good option for people that can't afford hundreds of dollars for a console and the $60+ per game. Might not be ideal, but certainly more affordable.
For google stadia, the new titles still required you to pay $60 or even up to $120 for bundled games. In addition to the stadia pro subscription... Thankfully though Stadia is issuing refunds for the games since it closed down
It really depends on your internet I get 970mbps unlimited for 65, and using he luna is good haven't had any issues I think it could get better if they invest more into it, I like the ability to use it on any device and I like that they updated the controller so I can use it as a Bluetooth controller for other games other than luna. So far so good
You were demonstrating sprite games. Years ago I played games like that on a cheap console. I would to see how the service performs with 3D game engines.
My experience with luna epically destroyed that of stadia. The game control functioned very well in less than optimtimum internet service, and the game library vastly exceeded stadia's poor "pro" selection.
Tested Luna as a prime member, it's performance is best as compared to Google, if there is option to purchase and keep your games online and play at your will it will be awesome
Am being using Luna for 3 months am playing resident evil 2 at moment. What notice about Luna. The games have a certain time then they disappear but because I’ve signed up the game has come back all my saved was in the last game so didn’t have start over again.
As someone that's owned or still own a console all the way from the Atari 5200 up to the Series S, I can say that Luna is a GREAT experience.. I think Cloud Gaming (Stadia, Luna, XCloud, GeForce Now) on the whole has been, for me, a great experience... sure, your conditions (like whether you're on solid 5G or Wi-Fi, or using the official controllers) will determine how good or bad the experience will be, but I don't often find myself in a scenario where Luna. Stadia, etc. are downright unplayable... maybe when Luna and XCloud were still in beta (I think XCloud still is), but it's been otherwise, console-like, if not better (RE8 on Stadia is a PRIME example being up to par with the Series X and PS5)... that said, I don't think Stadia is suffering from a fate of doom right now, and I think it's a great service, but Luna.... they've just been hitting some really good notes.... like the Twitch integration to stream games using your phone's camera
Hard to see the value in Luna. I currently use GeForceNow to play my PC library on-the-go. It's good because it allows you to get more value out of games you've already purchased. Microsoft has a compelling offering with Xbox game pass and xCloud, which I haven't tried yet but might at some point. Stadia is a closed ecosystem that Google doesn't seem enthusiastic about investing in (surprise surprise). Though I already have Amazon prime, I don't see a compelling reason to check out Luna.
I’ve owned this controller for about a week now and thus far my only complaint is the difficulty in connecting the remote when not at home, I went to my brothers house to hang out last night with him and his girlfriend to show off the controller and phone clip setup while we had a few in the backyard only to be embarrassed when despite the phone showing all 4 bars of high speed connection the controller would just not connect, even inside his house also, but when I got back home to my house it works just fine
I think you have to connect it using the controller app cause they send the controller register under your account you already using and I believe it has your router automatically register
I wonder if my guy has found out that the Amazon controller is a direct copy of the XBox controller…he’s busy comparing it to Switch and PS5! Lolol Also I love Luna…great package for the price!
Fair point! My original draft had a mention of how similar the Luna controller's asymmetrical analog stick layout is to the Xbox's, but I ended up cutting it from the final video. And as for the visual comparison, I don't have a current Xbox controller on hand, unfortunately. Thanks for watching! - Philip
Gonna give Luna a try after this summer with all the shortages in other consoles, and not willing to plop down another 300$ for another switch or more for a Steam deck😑 just wanna play without arguing kids LOL
Honestly it could have the potential to replace consoles in the near future but it's not quite there yet it needs more games old and new and some of it's originals
I tried it today but the lag made games less fun. Not unplayable, but enough stutters to say no thanks. Wired Windows 10 PC, 150+ mbps, 360 controller, Deathloop.

Luna is a tough sell...the current gen consoles are hard to get right now, but once they are readily available I could see Luna getting buried to the wayside by them!
@@yoyoclockEbay see that may be where they have a market. People that are very casual gamers and don't want new consoles and such. Just plug and play. Even Microsoft is trying to swing that way with Gamespass. I have the major consoles, so I wouldn't buy Luna, but I can definitely see casual gamers going with it just for the ease of access. I just don't know if they can hook and keep the dedicated gamers that would be paying the money for the games and channels and such long term once everyone has the option of the new consoles.
@@gordonreinz9849 valid point. I hope for success for any gaming really because the more gaming that is available the better we gamers have it. The balance as a provider of cloud gaming comes in dealing with niche markets or trying to appeal to the mass consumer market. Similar to people that cannot part ways with Cable TV for the streaming services instead, just used to the way it "was".
Nah don’t like it, looks like they’re making gaming cable television, everything in packages that you pay for monthly, not worthless but it replaces nothing, only good for people who don’t game much and already don’t have consoles
I think people should steer clear of these. Supporting these non consoles is just slowly bringing gaming to an era where you own nothing. If you want to continually pay for a product to be able to play at all then I guess this is for you. I like owning what I spend my dollars on though. seems very good to me especially with the firestick
I beat Resident evil 2 and 3 using Luna, and I had 0.0000000000000000 issues. If they get licenses for more games I would throw my console away.

Wil use a direct line internet connection to my fire stick wit d use of the adapter
