The secret of Sao Paulo making pizzas better than Italy, is Italian blood, too. Yes, because many of Sao Paulo are descendants of Italians, who brought to town the Italian cuisine.
Lots of Italians in São Paulo, it is embedded in the local culture. It's kinda common sense in Brazil: if you want to taste a really good pizza, go to São Paulo's Italian neighborhoods Mooca and Vila Madalena.
Wow I"m so glad you loved our pizzas. I've never been to Italy, so I cannot tell which is better in my opinion. It is not hard to find delivery pizzas that are rather good as well in Sao Paulo, all regions in Brazil acknoledge our pizzas :) I think this is due to the influence of the italian immigrants that started coming here in the begining of the 1900s to work on the coffee farms in Sao Paulo country side.
Dining in São Paulo is so good.. lots of different places and many many varieties of food. Dining is like a form of leisure for paulistanos, people get together, call their friends, go having a good meal and enjoy their time together... and what best food for that than pizza, right? In Sao Paulo, near the Vila Madalena Metro stop and up 1936 Heitor Penteado Street at a place called Pizzaria Julio's and it is incredible! www.pizzariajulios.com.br/pizzas/ Pizzarias in Brasil are known for having SEVERAL pizzas. Julio''s has 102 different types at this location alone. There are other locations in Zona Norte and in the Pirituba/Freguesia do O neighborhood. The interesting thing about the thin crust, when I was in Sao Paulo from 2011-15 the crust was thin enough to imagine that they were using the same type of dough as you would use with pasteis. I might be wrong, but I have had pizza in several parts of the USA and New York has the best thin crust UNTIL....... so it is worth checking out for sure!!

Very different from the italian that is very irregular, with a lot of sauce, and toppings uneven spread on top. In the 90's you wouldn't find italian style pizza in Brazil. Or at least, they were very rare. I know that one of the most traditionals pizza places in São Paulo is "Pizzaria do Ângelo" in Mooca.
I'm glad you had a good experience! 🤗
Thanks for watching. We weren't seeking out traditional pizza in this video. We were looking for the best. These are some of the top rated places in the city 😃- Trevor
Stop looking for rankings on internet and start listening to locals. Italian pizzas you find everywhere in the world. Traditional brazilian pizza, nowhere but in Brazil. Rankings are the most fancy and expensive, it's always like that....
@@DelightfulTravellers You have been in the right places. The pizzas they tried, all of them, have the Brazilian style: lots of coverage, with several ingredients, well-baked dough and a moderate edge. The popular ones here would have to be compared only with popular ones from other places. Congratulations beautiful videos and very interesting.
Thank you for visiting my country and my hometown and I am happy to see that for you it is the best pizza you have ever tasted !! Congratulations for the beautiful video !!!
you guys have a very nice vibe. You'll be always welcome.
Thanks :)
Everybody should go to two places in a neighborhood it calls Mooca.
Pizzaria Sao pedro
Pizzaria do angelo
Wow all those pizzas look delicious, I love the different toppings that they use, the one with the pancetta, figs and honey pizza was interesting, but I bet that was delicious
FitAngie that just may have been our favourite one Angie. So so good! 👍 - Trevor
Your videos are getting better and better. You certainly do your research. Good job! Beautiful photography as well.
Thank you! Pizza research is the best kind of research 🤗- Anna
Yesssssss, as a proud paulistana I'm so glad to see people trying out our AMAZING pizza that, yes, is the best in the world xD
It is so traditional to eat a good pizza and drink good wine in São Paulo. I just love the city.
We see why! Such good pizza - Trevor
Yes!! São Paulo has the best pizza 🍕 in the world, especially in the Bixiga neighborhood and the best of all that, you can order by phone and get delivery any time, at all hours, and fast, regardless of the weather. I love it!!
The secret of Sao Paulo making pizzas better than Italy, is Italian blood, too. Yes, because many of Sao Paulo are descendants of Italians, who brought to town the Italian cuisine.
Definitely much better & way more variety! Yummy!😋
Your pizza is top notch Zorzi. It's some of the best we've had ever - Anna
Love it! Very fair! Our pizzas in São Paulo are the best!
Dining in São Paulo is so good.. lots of different places and many many varieties of food. Dining is like a form of leisure for paulistanos, people get together, call their friends, go having a good meal and enjoy their time together... and what best food for that than pizza, right?
São Paulo has a unique way to enjoy pizza, different even from other cities in Brazil. It is considered a gastronomic symbol of the city, a staple brought the many Italian immigrants that helped shaped this city.
Great comment Rogerio. We appreciate it and thanks so much for watching. We have more food on the way in the videos. Get ready! - Trevor
What a nice extra video It was really yummy watching you guys eat all those pizza over a few days
Thanks Effie. It was a pretty easy one to film 😀- Anna

6:54 tocando elis regina ❤️
Happy you like the pizza!! Pizza is a very tradicional dinner food at the entire state of São Paulo. The cities has a lot of pizzarias.

Pizza??? Adoooooro😋🥰🥰🥰
Pizza in Pinheiros ...hmmm should try Moóca and its pizzerias. Everything Pinheiros is $$$$
Touristy.

My family loves Portuguese pizza. This is the best of all!
Then they would love Sao Paulo pizza Liza! - Anna
SP pizza is pretty good and you guys tried exactly the best pizzas around. Great video!
(There was an amusing scene in the second pizzeria. Around 5:17 in the video, showing the two pizzamakers. The pizza they were baking wasn’t perfect and one of the guys said something like “this one failed, let’s make another”.)
haha no way. Maybe the were nervous because I was right on them filming 🤣- Trevor
You jinxed it 😂
7:50 Elis rolando... da hora.
I appreciate how u ate the pizza with knife and fork. Thats very a thing in Sao Paulo kkkk
MEU??? SP é a Meca da Pizza!!! Just enjoy!!!
when we talk about sao paulo's best pizza, it's actually not about fancy, trendy pizza places!!! i mean, i'm sure their stuff is great too, but in order to get the true essence of brazilian pizza, you guys should have gone to more traditional and less expensive places, the pizza "do povão" like we call it haha
Such a nice couple
Hello!!! You gotta go to Bráz Elettrica for great to go pizzas and meat balls 😋

It's the best! Where do you live in Canada? - Anna
@@DelightfulTravellers I'm in Vancouver :). I love Canada, but pizzas here are just one of the few things I would complain haha.
Ps.: Oh Gosh, didnt know you guys are Canadians... That explains a lot why you're so nice people :) Thank you guys, enjoy the trip ;)
I knew it! But it's always good to listen it from foreigns 😎
Tutty pizza, near of Maria and Clarice a. In The same street: Two houses above Maria e clarices.

Gostei!
You surprised me with the final result. I'm brazilian, but I never been in SP. So interesting!
Glad you liked it!
You guys missed out on trying the sweet pizzas for dessert. Brigadeiro is one of my favorites. Yummy!
8:50 In fact the name came from one of the best Brazilian songs, the song had been played in the video and the name is in 7:31 (others have already commented ). Our best female singer, incredible rich lyrics that deals events in Brazilian history and pays homage to Charles Chaplin (one of the characters , the drunk, uses a derby hat like The Tramp), the melody also quotes Chaplin's Smile... This song is a feast of meanings for those who dare: ua-cam.com/video/1g_p4Xcn5CE/v-deo.html
"Marias e Clarices" is the name of a song by Elis Regina, one of the greatest brazilian singers EVER, and that was the song playing in the background while you were eating the "Marias and Clarices pizza (the panccetta one)! What a coincidence! (Was that a coincidence!?!?!?)
A elis Regina mandado ver no fundo 🎵🎶
