The important thing to know is that, even though one of the cameras has a cropped 4K image, they are still both being down sampled from 6K2 4K, which is making these videos look incredibly sharp on both cameras
hi still no help for buyers hesitating between nx500 and nx1 based on 4k image quality ?i could not find anywhere on the web a video of image quality comparison with the same lens, moving the nx1 closer to compensate for crop and get the same framing. thank you.

is it better to use nx500 with nd filter or metabones?
So I've been having a huge problem after converting my Videos. I've been trying to shoot at 1080P at 120fps for action shots so I can get a really fluid slow motion. So I set my video to 1080 120P and my "fast/slow" to 120P or "1x". Once I transcode the videos to H.264 the video will start out at normal speed but after 2 seconds or so it will start playing in slow motion... I have no idea what is going on. It plays back at normal speed when previewing in my NX1. Any advice or knowledge on why this is happening? Thanks.
Hi, what tripod and quick release (plate) are you using to secure NX1? Is that Vanguard's tripod?
how do i record with the nx 500
Was the NX1 recording in 4k or 1080p when you did the 4k comparison? When you go to change the video type, it looked like you already had it on 1080p
+Aaron Williams-Mele Thanks for watching! During the actual 4K video comparison (at 0:28) both cameras were indeed on 4K. You are correct in noticing that when Sam goes to switch the NX1 from 4K to 1080p that the camera was already set to 1080p. This was just due to the nature of the shot we were able to grab at the time as we had already been switching the camera back and forth all day and were fighting against time due to inclement weather rolling in.
can you guys offer up a link for the NX1 remote studio software for mac, I can't find it anywhere on the web. thanks!
Ramir Sioson This is an excellent request. At this time the Remote Studio software is not available for Mac. However, within the next few weeks we plan on posting a video showing how to use the Remote Studio with PC. Should another update become available and Remote Studio becomes available for Mac we will be sure to post a video on how to use it. Thanks again for watching!

i have nx1000 but i cant connect to my s8 phone . when i connect to wifi mode on my phone wifi say net may not be available dont know what to do . i cant use any smart link etc
Great video! Any chance they add h.264 as a option because h.265 is not accepted by any major NLE? Transcoding can make those small files you mention huge which negates the small file size to begin with :) Also the hdmi out has some issues so using a 4k recorder is out of the question because if you hook it up too a shogun for example it mess up the option to change any settings. thanks and keep up the great videos
Im not sure if you can help me but I cannot find any answers online. i have a nx1 which i just bought today, the problem is When I go to set the movie size, it gives me all the options for size and fps but the option for 1080x1920 with 120fps is not lit up and I cannot choose it. can you inform why or what I need to do? I have the video out set to NTSC. also the fast/slow option I cannot select 0.5 120 fps either, thanks in advance.
+aaron l I am sure in M Manual mode have You 0,25 recording option .This is same in Nx500.

Were you using the new firmware v1.1 with the NX500 whilst shooting this?

+Nickkk Cannon nope. they even discontinued the nx1 so fast. it have the best hardware in the world for such device, so much potential and was too lazy to make it superb.
+Nickkk Cannon samsung stopped producing camera so NX mount is dead 2 choices exist for actual owners either use camera to the death or sell asap. When Samsung announced going away from camera they let down all the people who invested in NX lenses and camera. As a last comment, It is a bad move as they finally started to get attention with the NX1.
Jesus Christ the NX500 looks absolutely tiny when you mount the Samsung 16-50mm on it. At first I actually thought you mounted like a super big Canon 24-70mm on it or something. Is it really that small?

You miss one of most important things - terrible autofocus in video in NX500.
Still there, in ideal condition you can notice AF problem of NX500. Just look - in this very easy, alweys infinity focus scene, tripod, not moving, good light - nx1 have rock stady focus to infinity, but NX500 lost focus and run back and forth! There is nothing too loose, scene most easy you can imagine but nx500 still loose! Its just incredeble, how samsung engineers make it SO BAD?
As nx500 owner im confirm - its not accidental, AF often work bad even in good light and always work terrible in complex condition (many moving contrast object and/or low light).
Another very annoying things - you just dont switch off this terrible AF in video. When you select "manual focus" camera... still film as "Continious". For switch off you need touch "MF off" icon (its switched to "MF on") on screen each time you press "Rec" button, because after record its will reseted to "MF off". Yes, for each clip you will need make twice operation - phisical button and precisious touch on screen icon. And of curse, your previously selected focus distance will be reseted too. Yes, its so stupid - badiest AF on market and incomprehensible, ridiculously stupid way to switch it off. Only normal way to record something on NX500 without huge chanse lost moments - using adapter and third-party lenses.
So i have luttle question - in NX1 manual focus in video work same ridiculous way? Because im start to think, this awful AF on nx500 its premeditated choise of samsung for separate camera positioning.
Samsung nx-500 crop 4 k video is very bad idea. I have stop recording and move back to get right angel. Nobody in the world design camera like that. Is very stupid idea.Pleased notes to Sangjun Yu and Hyunsik Yu.
