Great video! Thanks very much for the detailed info. I needed this vid and haynes manual to change mine. And goodness... It was a tough job getting the rusty old retainer ring off and then i got to putting the rubber ring on the new master cylinder... Must have taken me 60 minutes. No wonder your video cut that out. I couldn't have replaced mine without you!!
12:10 it doesn’t matter how tight you do that up it won’t pinch, it’s a shouldered bolt, it clamps on the lower side only and the plain part of the bolt is just a pivot. No clamping forces around the lever at all. Good video though. I rebuilt my virago engine on my channel, and turned the bike into single side carb, Rat Bike. Love the colour of yours btw.
Thanks for the information. As we wrangled with removing and servicing the carbs, we did think about a single carb conversion! We'll definitely take a look at you vidoes and, maybe, if we get another Virago, we'll give it a shot.
@@MotorcycleFettlers Personally I’d never convert to single again, it doesn’t really work on a V engine as each cylinder needs different fuelling, it always ran like poo afterwards.
I believe there are two bar types on viragos that might depend on year and model. One is straighter. The other like mine is shaped like in the video and definitely have the same issue.

Glad you found it useful. It wasn't the worst job that we did on the Virgago (carb removal).
Sehr hilfreiches Video, vielen Dank und Grüße aus Deutschland ✌🏻

Good video. I keep losing my 10mm spanners too. Ive got 4 of em somewhere in my garage. They must be trying to escape.👍
Yes they do

Good video, thanks.
If you fit the factory handlebars the reservoir will sit straight.
We hadn't noticed that they were not original. If they weren't, then that would explain the ridiculous angle of the reservoir.
