When somebody asks me, why I love motorcycles, I will show them this video. Of course, you won't get the feeling and joy of riding but you can imagine for sure.
Great bike. Just the right amount of power, to be fun. Used to run mine in a higher gear and the surge when winding it on was exhilarating, without being mind bogglingly stupid. One of Yamahas unsung heroes.
Love it. Mostly you ride the way I do (cx 500 custom, a very similar experience) However a tad caution on overtaking at laybys 1:13 will keep the fun coming. People tend to pull out of them fast when they see a camper van, to keep ahead of it.

@@ibendover472 It’s a good first bike, very easily manoeuvrable for a cruiser type of motorcycle. And reliable. Only part I’ve changed over 25 years is starter motor.
@@morkus17 thanks man. I'm saving my money to get this bike for my next project. Might need to change the whole frame to the rigid one though since I'm not a big fan of the current frame it had.

Thanks for sharing this great vidio of some amazing scenery and a beautiful sounding Virago..Please can I ask you where you purchased your bigger main jets from..
Absolutely stunning. What a beautiful video and edition. How do you keep the ND16 filter on the GoPro and attached to the helmet? Is there a special GoPro case for that? I've found that particular combo of ND filter and 30fps recording to be the most realistic and most beautiful. And also, is that audio just recorded from the goPro alone? You have a separate audio recorder right?
Thank you ! The ND filter I use just clips on to the lens, no special case needed. I tried using a separate audio recorder but found I am just as happy using a wind muff case that goes over the camera. It's so much cheaper and means a lot less faffing about with separate audio.
what year is your xv535? I have a '96 with the black widow drags and I've noticed some lean burbles and a small flat spot around the 4k rev mark, so I'm slightly intrigued if you've done the jets or changed air filter?
I have a '96 UK model. Sounds like you have the exact same issue I had, took me way longer than it should of to sort it ! All you need to do is take a look at your jets, if they are 107.5, order a couple of bigger ones. (I went for 117.5 but could go up to 137.5) After installing those it felt like a brand new bike runs great now ! For some reason on this model the jets are way too small and causes flat spots etc.
@@morkus17 I know they made the xv535 run fairly lean as standard but black widow did use to advertise they required no rejet for the drag pipes, I just checked their site incase its changed and the no rejet bit has gone, I've gotta replace some hoses so I'll check the jets and give it a try, I did think your exhaust note sounded a tad beefier and smoother, cheers for the info on the Jets I'll give that a go, roll on the warmer weather
