It is such a shame that Mr. Big is not better well known in the US. They have some amazing songs. What they do on guitar in Daddy, Brother, Lover, Little Boy with the electric drill is unrivaled in many areas of music even today. They did All The Way Up, Undertow, Stranger In My Life, Anything For You, Just Take My Heart, and on and on the list goes. Then you have the lead singer, Eric Martin that has done some of the most gorgeous solo vocal work out there with Story, First Love, a great cover of Eternal Flame, Forever Love. Why are these guys not appreciated more in America?

Whoever wrote this song has a great way with words. 'Your game of love was all rained out' is one of my favorite lines in an 80's song. And 'Waited on a line of greens and blues' Green the color of jealousy and Blue the color of sadness...beautiful.

Eric Martin, the lead singer wrote this in his teens.
He wrote this song when he was 17 yo to his best friend. But she never reciprocated his feelings to be more than friends. They were best friends and he was there for her. The greens and blues was from his mood ring Blue for calm/ Green for happy. This song was originally written in the 80's. Later released 1991. Technically you were right. 😊

back in the day when society was cool, things were understood as being cute and flirty. Now everyone looks for so called triggers and reasons to rip someone apart whose likely absolutely doing nothing wrong. I miss the 80’s as a kid and the early 90s. Better in every way. 🤙🏻

I have a story to go with this song. I was a freshman in college, I was still dating my high school sweetheart, we were driving in his Jeep and this song came on and he turned it up and sang along with emotion behind it. It never occurred to me to care. Two weeks later he announced that he loved my best friend better than me. I should have listened to how much emotion he put into this song. Because he was obviously singing it to her. But that's okay. I ended up better off and have been married to the man I met a week later, my husband of 25 years.

The group were all masters of song writing and they understood the concept of continuity. ❤❤❤ Usually continuity is crafted in the music itself but I think it can be equally imp in the lyrics. Love your channel!

One song I think you would like a lot based off of the energy of it alone, is Photograph by Def Leppard. Amazing song that is full of energy and a music video that equals that intensity. Definitely check it out. Anything Def Leppard is amazing to be honest but I always felt that Photograph was one of their best songs.
