In order to succeed you have to first ACKNOWLEDGE your past. Figure out how it holds you back and work to break those chains. Sometimes we don’t even know we’re victims because we don’t even know it holds us back. So self reflection and being honest with yourself is key.

If you focus on YOU, YOU and ONLY YOU can make YOU better. Personal responsibility is the name of the game. Get your own house in order and then you can serve and raise your own family well. Trying to change the world with dirty dishes in the sink at home will not help anyone, and will prevent you from growing as a person.

I had the type of upbringing that produces serial killers. Yet I am financially independent and by all metrics am a good person. We all have good and bad in us, and we all have to make very difficult choices if we want to succeed in life. Keep in mind life is a marathon. And the best poker players in the world know that you can be dealt a series of horrible hands in the beginning of the game and still end up running the table and walking away with everybody else's money in your pocket.

I hope that the Dave Ramsey show doesn't shift away from biblical counsel and towards psychology, which is the direction the doctor on the left is pulling it.

You have nothing to prove. I have to remind myself of that everyday. I’m just “me” amongst billions of other “me’s”. I don’t have to do things to fit in or get them to like me. F*ck them. Let them do their thing and I’ll do mine. Don’t have to prove anything to them because at the end of the day, the day is over.

It’s a harsh reality that there are no victims when one racks up an insane amount of student loan or business debt. Far too many people out there who have 200k plus in student loan debt who are jobless or making 35k a year. Same with a business owner with over 600k in debt for a business generating 78k in yearly income. You aren’t doing your due diligence in investigating and vetting and understanding the REALITY of things.
