I'm glad customers are getting wise. Brands are constantly bombarding influencers with free, glamorous gifts, even though most of them already live in the lap of luxury. Meanwhile, customers who *don't* live such luxurious lives have to watch these wealthy folks get all this complimentary vacations & stuff... that's somehow supposed to inspire us to give them our business lol. It doesn't make me mad or anything, but it seems like a weird brand-customer dynamic.
Yeah me buying that tube of lipstick is funding these trips like naw lol 😂let me buy a tube of lipstick for a chance to win a trip I miss when companies did give always like that
It’s literally just a type of marketing/advertising. It’s for brand awareness…and it’s absolutely working. So I hope you keep this energy for any company/brand that has ever done marketing and advertising.
The richer people get the more they get free. This is for the chance of brand/product placement with a wealthy person being photographed or filmed using it. That's also why the swag bags they have for the Oscars are insane. Corporate shilling is about association to the already wealthy so us poors have something to aspire to while we fight over their crumbs.
As someone who works in marketing! 1. There’s a high chance that the hotel probably did this, if not for free, for a large discount, OR a separate company (like Sephora) probably paid a big chunk of the bill. 2. The influencers probably weren’t paid to post or do anything because they’re getting attention just by being on this all expense paid trip. The influencers were most probably posting for free as part of an agreement to go on this trip. (I don’t think anyone would turn down a free vacation to such a beautiful place) 3. This is going to be considered a marketing win, because their engagement (both tarte and the influencers’) are at a high point. For up and coming influencers they would for sure take this chance to gain new followers, gain such large engagement numbers, and meet influencers who are just as if not more popular than they are to help gain more clout. I do not agree with what tarte did here because I do feel like they should’ve just done the trip with normal, real paying customers, instead of influencers who can literally pay for everything they’re currently getting for free. 😅
Truly. If they're trying to be genuine, they need to include more people from their general audience, because influencers get othet brand deals and have luxurious lives. But if common people were selected, they'd have a chance at increasing sales.
@@runyoufool2856 I completely agree with you! Companies think that by hiring influencers to show off what they can get that they’ll get more “reach” but what they don’t seem to get is that the reach can only last for so long, yes it’ll bring it sales but only temporarily, especially since more and more people are getting tired of the influencer luxury life and sponsorships, especially since after these trips, the same influencers might not even use the products anymore. If genuine people, real people, get taken on these trips and they really do like the products, other real people, would probably buy too because it isn’t sponsored.
I don’t get why they can’t do 50/50 because even if the non influencers post them on the trip they’ll still get high engagements because trippinwithtarte was trending and more people will be able to relate to the non influencers 🤷🏾♀️

I really hate all of these brand trips exclusively for TikTok "Influencers". They are so rich and privileged just because they make 5 second sponsored videos, and then they get so many free products that they'll probably use once for a video and then throw away. That's so wasteful, not to mention that none of this makes me want to buy from the brand. Tarte is just trying to stay relevant and keep people talking because no one is buying their overpriced products anymore.
I always forget Tarte exists until they do these trips and I hear about them from the drama channels. If it works for them then whatever, but they're only reaching people who follow those influencers. Hearing about it second hand here doesn't make me want to buy anything cause we're just talking about the drama and not the products.
old school brands like clarins, estee lauder, lancome, sensai, mac, chanel....and some others who do not send free stuff ALL THE TIME to those influencers
The influencers I used to watch along with tarte many yrs ago on these trips all used all the products from tarte the entire trip. They also used tarte all the time in their videos b4 and after bc they Generally loved them.
I feel like we all ,as beauty product consumers, should just completely ignore these brand trips. Like give them no engagement, no sales, no views everytime brands go all the way out for INFLUENCERS. It’s ridiculous, I would not spend a penny for a brand that would focus so much in spoiling influencers. Like what world are they living on?????
Preach 🙌 we paid for this crap!! I own a palette from Tarte honestly never again! I was considering the shape tape and a lip balm welp no more! We are struggling with bills, gas and food and we are supposed to give even more money and vacations to these privileged rich influencers... Boycott these brands all together, they don't care about customers they only care about our money!
It’s interesting how ppl only noticed how problematic tarte is as a brand when classism is involved (which is great) but they’ve been pretty transparent on their carelessness for inclusivity for a long time and everyone continued supporting/buying from them, they’ve never truly cared about diversity, notice how all their trips lack diversity.
Love that people were telling the brand to do a giveaway for actual customers that actually love the brand... I get why but it's unfair rich people get TONS of free shit while us regular folk have to spend $24 for 1 eyeliner
Tbh, the ONLY tart product I’ve heard about, is the concealer lol Also, they want to build communities but only between each other, not with anyone else lol
Honestly don’t care how inclusive tarte is being on their trips, ever since the tarte shape tape foundation range fiasco I’ll never buy from them again. It’s hard to think they really care about me as consumer when they can barely carry my shade. Also in a recession seeing pretty people holidaying doesn’t seem very interesting to me.
I don’t understand why they do this like seriously it’s such a waste giving people all this treatment knowing full well they can afford this themselves it’s unbelievable and disgusting ya let’s give these people all full trip for free and give them free stuff like seriously unbelievable
I don’t think it’s that deep tbh if you do business trips it’s usually paid by the company you work for auswelle. The problem for me is that it’s dubai which is so problematic
@@TaylorGrace2001 Be realistic here, what do you think that will do, business wise? The giveaway is announced, a handful of people are picked and people stop talking about it. Do you really think we’ll hear anything about it from the people who got picked? No, only their own friends and family will care.
A lot of the other influencers live the same lifestyle as Tana they just hide it. She’s one of the few that has consistently shown tarte products, even if it’s only the concealer. Also grew up poor basically on the streets of Vegas so she’s very appreciative. Sharing your life in a brand safe way or not doesn’t constitute anyone being better or less than.
I can see why they let alix get away with that other sponsorship she’s basically single-handedly documenting the entire trip and showing how fabulous it is and how much fun they’re having 🤷🏼♀️
am i the only person that lowkey loves tarte?? i’ve bought so many of their products. i love their liquid and powder blushes, shape tape? and their cc cloud foundation 😅
We’re in the minority for sure these days. I can’t get away from the maracuja concealer or the Amazonian bb cream. 😢 it takes forever sometimes to find your right combo.
I love their foundation face tape after they re developed the formula and shape tape and a lot of their mascaras and lip products it's depressing to see these terds being so ungrateful
The CEO is literally buying their influence and securing it for life, apparently 😂 like how could they not sponsor Tarte after being given a trip of a lifetime?
Once the brand trip ends how much longer will these influencers continue to push Tarte? Unless they have a contract that says they have to post about their products for an extended amount of time?
I think Tarte would have more brand loyalty if they actually did more PR campaigns on social issues. They would actually draw more attention if they showed portions of their proceeds going towards protecting the environment like the rainforest. Especially since their line includes a “rainforest of the sea” line. But I am just a consumer what do I know.
I’m not a tarte fan girl at all, I’ve probably only bought like one thing from tarte with birthday money I got when I was younger. And I get that people are spending their “ hard earned “ money on tarte products but NO ONE is holding a gun to your head to support tarte by buying their products. The same way no one is forcing you to follow these influences or buy the shit they promote. I don’t know why everyone gets so pissy about what brands want to do. As long as they’re not hurting anyone, I think we all need to get over it and just buy/support what you want. Who cares if influences go on trips. It’s like getting mad at a worker for going on paid business trips.
These days the brand trips and Shape Tape are the only things we hear from Tarte anymore, and ELF Camo Concealer is literally Shape Tape with a better price tag. So... I just don't get how Tarte is even making money because my cousin works at Sephora and she says that the only Tarte products that sell is Shape Tape, otherwise people don't touch it.
People have to understand customers do not promote like influencers or actors. Most of them do not even have a open account and do not even post on it. So as a marketing or advertising stand point it’ll be useless to do that. However taking a couple customers and hosting a giveaway is much better than taking an only customers trip! Also the ending of relations between influencers and morphe as compared to a few years back has led to morphe becoming bankrupt. Taking influencers and building a strong relationship with them is important for a makeup brand to be relevant!
Ppl still buy tarte ? LOL ever since the shape tape foundation scandal she showed us she doesn’t care to include ppl of ALL shades, and that we darker skinned ppl r a literal afterthought. I’m glad to see everyone in this comment section agreeing; we simply don’t but from this brand.
I honestly think people are waking up to how much money there is in the world! We see numbers and we have dismissed them. But when you put it in a perspective of how people live, that’s when we truly see what those numbers mean..
There’s a lot of Tarte that I buy and enjoy, I don’t for a minute think the brand is dead. I love that they’re doing adding a giveaway for the regular person to go on one of these. If they’d done something similar earlier I think people wouldn’t be so salty. Having influencers go is smart business, it’s silly how envious people are online. I’ve heard other influencers in the past talk about how it’s not just a free vacation, it’s content creation (and consequently editing), and scheduled events after events. There is a ‘work’ component
@@angrycupcake93 I know but if this is something they are set on I’m glad that they are putting time and effort into improving it at the very least. They should totally have a giveaway next time for a average customer to be able to go on the trip!
Also, sorry, her gloating about how authentic her brand is because she transfers her love to influencers by taking them to five star hotels is ridiculous and out of touch. Giving customers a couple of sweats doesn't change that, neither does talking about charity. It's ridiculous.
If I was the one from Tarte coming up with this event, or trip, I would let costumers compete for a spot to go on the vacation. And maybe let them bring a friend/family member or something. Not giving it to influencers that already can go on trips like this..
Okay I like the little story of making connections with people to build your brand but ummm you don’t need to buy friends love with trips and gifts if they really wanted to make connections and not just buy people’s influence, they could literally just meet up anywhere and get critiques on the products and spend time together maybe a banquet or something. Trips and free PR kits? It’s way too extra. I wouldn’t believe one word of these pampered influencers who just want to go on the next brand trip. 🙄
imo people that are complaining about these influencer brand trips sound super entitled. like of course a brand is going to cater towards the people that will bring their brand lots of advertising. it only makes sense. i think it’s cool that tarte is doing a giveaway though.
If you are so focused on getting these boring influencers to fly to paradise for free for you and then think that makes me want to buy your products because of it? Think again, WE DO NOT CARE 😂
Brand trips happened way before UA-cam, we just didn’t see them as much. The trips and gifts went to the magazines and bloggers. It is a great marketing tool. The CEO is a genius for including customers in the giveaways and trips. I wonder if these people complaining realize how much influence the influencers have. I just watched a live stream where someone mentioned the hoodie she was wearing. Didn’t give the brand or store name. The next day Free People reached out and told her they sold 50K hoodies in 12 hours. She doesn’t even do fashion content. She sold 50K hoodies at $100 a pop. That is a lot of money. So taking these influencers on a once in a lifetime trip is the least that these brands can do. I hope they all got paid for their time too. Know your worth and accept nothing less.
Tarte can bs all they want. But I still remember that video Alyssa Ashley and Jackie Aina did on their tarte shape tape foundation 🤡🤡🤡🤡 they clearly only cater to a certain skin tone
Spend that marketing money on good products instead. When was the last time tarte released something good. If they wanna throw their money away by doing trips, that's fine. It doesn't sway my opinion either way, but it's been years since I looked at tarte's products let alone buy something from them.
Idk how I feel when someone is like «we started from scratch, such a small company» and then says they took holiday trips to Turcs & Caicos with their family? I mean yeah they can be rich and still have a small company I guess. But Tarte is not small anymore. I kind of agree that they should atleast invite some of their customers (like a draft or something as mentioned in the video) cause inviting influences who can easily buy all of these products is a little… Sure, from a marketing standpoint I’m sure it is smart. But I am a consumer, not an investor or someone who works in marketing. And me, as a consumer, looking at this whole trip makes me feel like they don’t really give af about the people buying their products. Edit: well, turns out they listened to the feedback. That’s pretty decent of them tbh. Gotta hand it to Tarte for that one. Which is also a smart thing to do, get people to engage and enter the competition.
Tarte gets back a substantial amount of this money because it’s listed as advertising on their taxes. They are spending exponentially less that ppl think
I’m not interested in buying products promoted by surgery-enhanced, filtered, shallow sounding girls in their early 20s on an exorbitant trip. And I’m barely older than these girls and used to be obsessed with makeup but it’s just not relatable.
Tarte is no longer in reality. I can't see these people who have everything receiving more and more products and going to the other side of the world to produce lousy content. 🥱🥱
Fr, and I was proud of Tarte last year when they stepped their game up. Then they released that Maracuja shift shit that sold out immediately and I lost respect again. They don't care about us normies that can't catch a new release immediately. They only care about rich people. 🥝💚🖤
Talking about tartes beginning as if it was rags to riches & then saying her whole family had been travelling to Turks and Caicos for 20 YEARS as their “family reunion” spot…. Out of touch
The contest to take out the loyal customers would work much better than taking out the influencers. It doesn’t have to be that lavish and they could do it twice a year. It would blow up the brand so much more
Why wouldnt Tarte give out free mini gift bags to customers instead of funding trips for influencers? Im over brands catering to these people and not their actual customers.
Can you imagine if the big UA-camrs (that went last few times) if THEY didn't use Tart products or even promote them on the brand trip?!? Gguurrlll.... I had just always bought the concealer and literally haven’t since 2018 🤣
Never
No but after the shape tape foundation fiasco i never will
I really hate all of these brand trips exclusively for TikTok "Influencers".
They market as an affordable comapny when a small bottle of concealer costs like 31$ plus shipping :(

Is it just me or this trip was extremely tacky?
I always forget Tarte exists until they do these trips and I hear about them from the drama channels. If it works for them then whatever, but they're only reaching people who follow those influencers. Hearing about it second hand here doesn't make me want to buy anything cause we're just talking about the drama and not the products.
The sad part is, as a 35 year old, Tarte products work GREAT on my skin but I no longer want to support them knowing THIS is where my money is going!😞
I feel like I'm running out of old school brands to support. All off them have done something problematic by this point.
Same girl same
old school brands like clarins, estee lauder, lancome, sensai, mac, chanel....and some others who do not send free stuff ALL THE TIME to those influencers
YES. personally refuse to subscribe to anyone with over 600 subscribers on UA-cam! Not with us nobodies struggling so much!!!
Tana saying "I'm not brand safe" when she saw her name on the Tarte mirror killed me
The influencers I used to watch along with tarte many yrs ago on these trips all used all the products from tarte the entire trip.
YES. personally refuse to subscribe to anyone with over 600 subscribers on UA-cam! Not with us nobodies struggling so much!!!🎉
Preach 🙌 we paid for this crap!!
EXACTLY 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Love that people were telling the brand to do a giveaway for actual customers that actually love the brand... I get why but it's unfair rich people get TONS of free shit while us regular folk have to spend $24 for 1 eyeliner
Tbh, the ONLY tart product I’ve heard about, is the concealer lol
Also, they want to build communities but only between each other, not with anyone else lol
I’m not surprised Tarte is doing brand trips. It always gave off Karen makeup brand!
@@AC-bk1jg no I get it but bring people who can’t afford this stuff instead that’s my problem
YES. personally refuse to subscribe to anyone with over 600 subscribers on UA-cam! Not with us nobodies struggling so much!!!
@@SouthernBelleReviews YES seriously give the people who actually need this stuff and can’t afford it instead of giving it to the rich
@@TaylorGrace2001 Be realistic here, what do you think that will do, business wise? The giveaway is announced, a handful of people are picked and people stop talking about it. Do you really think we’ll hear anything about it from the people who got picked? No, only their own friends and family will care.
It appeared genuine, but as soon as she invited Tana…told me all I needed to know about the brand’s integrity.
I wish Tarte would do a regular campaign with diverse models and land fashion week look books
I can see why they let alix get away with that other sponsorship she’s basically single-handedly documenting the entire trip and showing how fabulous it is and how much fun they’re having 🤷🏼♀️
I like the loyal client on the trip idea 💞
am i the only person that lowkey loves tarte?? i’ve bought so many of their products. i love their liquid and powder blushes, shape tape? and their cc cloud foundation 😅
The CEO is literally buying their influence and securing it for life, apparently 😂 like how could they not sponsor Tarte after being given a trip of a lifetime?
always a good day when tea spill uploads!
Once the brand trip ends how much longer will these influencers continue to push Tarte? Unless they have a contract that says they have to post about their products for an extended amount of time?
11:44 i guess in the contract, this time Tarte put a "i promise to use only Tarte products" not like before 😂
Damn, imagine if they put this much money and effort into interesting products and more inclusive shade ranges 👀
Exactly
I’ve been buying Tarte’s shape tape concealer for many years now. I’ll never switch unless they go out of market.
I worked at Sephora and Shape Tape is an Ulta exclusive. They literally don't buy anything Tarter at my old Sephora.
@@cherryberry44 Really? Huh, maybe I misheard her but I could have swore she said Sephora though, because that's where she works.
i actually use so much tarte products. the maneater mascara and eyeliner are bomb af. I also like the Foundcealer and the hydrating shape tape.
But when you put it in a perspective of how people live, that’s when we truly see what those numbers mean..
cant believe tarte is doing this again after last time
Waiting for the day regular, small 600 - 5k follower tiktokers and youtubers get sponsored trips and opportunities
It’s cool to see a company take criticism and improve on a experience!
If they took criticism they wouldn't be doing these trips to begin with. You cannot be serious 🤣
@@angrycupcake93 I know but if this is something they are set on I’m glad that they are putting time and effort into improving it at the very least. They should totally have a giveaway next time for a average customer to be able to go on the trip!
@@margauxmayeux1796 they are

Hats off to a company for actually listening to demand and giving customers what they want and deserve
“He frocked me with a tooth brush!!”
Also, sorry, her gloating about how authentic her brand is because she transfers her love to influencers by taking them to five star hotels is ridiculous and out of touch. Giving customers a couple of sweats doesn't change that, neither does talking about charity. It's ridiculous.
Tarte doing the most except expanding their shade range…
If I was the one from Tarte coming up with this event, or trip, I would let costumers compete for a spot to go on the vacation. And maybe let them bring a friend/family member or something. Not giving it to influencers that already can go on trips like this..
A true CEO, take notes JACKY WACKY… 💅🏼
Sis is STRUGGLING to curl that hair lmao
Okay I like the little story of making connections with people to build your brand but ummm you don’t need to buy friends love with trips and gifts if they really wanted to make connections and not just buy people’s influence, they could literally just meet up anywhere and get critiques on the products and spend time together maybe a banquet or something. Trips and free PR kits? It’s way too extra. I wouldn’t believe one word of these pampered influencers who just want to go on the next brand trip. 🙄
YES. personally refuse to subscribe to anyone with over 600 subscribers on UA-cam! Not with us nobodies struggling so much!!!
imo people that are complaining about these influencer brand trips sound super entitled. like of course a brand is going to cater towards the people that will bring their brand lots of advertising. it only makes sense. i think it’s cool that tarte is doing a giveaway though.
Omg..THAT CURLING IRON THO...😂😂😂😂
I personally refuse to subscribe to anyone with over 600 subscribers on UA-cam! Not with us nobodies struggling!!!!
The giveaway covered in branding to turn the lucky winner into a walking billboard advertisement
Comments passed the vibe check. I smelt the BS a mile away and everyone else did too lol.
If you are so focused on getting these boring influencers to fly to paradise for free for you and then think that makes me want to buy your products because of it? Think again, WE DO NOT CARE 😂
Not the influencer gasps… 😂
I dunno, but that curling wand is stressing me out the most.🤭
Brand trips happened way before UA-cam, we just didn’t see them as much.
These trips makes me feel icky. Like the level of money I feel guarantees a positive review even if the product is sh*tty.
It’s a tax write off too for businesses
The Tarte owner sounds like she is reading a teleprompter
Why would I love brand trips? As someone who isn't an influencer, they do nothing for me. Literally, nothing. I don't get to experience or ect.
Meredith kind of looks like Jeffree Star to me 😭😂
Tarte is no longer in reality.
It would blow up the brand so much more
I think it makes more sense to invite actual loyal customers on these trips, because the influencers never even talk about tarte
Hate Tana all you want but that woman is so clever 😂
How
@@averageday shes calculated and everyone buys into it, not just dumb like everyone thinks
@@cherrybomber69 taking advantage of dumb people isn’t necessarily clever. Its just easy and tempting.
In this economy, no one wants privilege shoved in their face.
I will not buy anything from these kind of brands.
So out of touch, it is mind boggling.
Seeing a brand spend money on people who don’t need it does NOT motivate me to buy their product, interestingly enough 🤔
They would've been dragged ALL the way back to the U.S.
I'm sure Meredith Dingleberry is a nice girl...
But personally I can't stand her. She seems to be the 'Regina George' of Beauty Community. IMO
Well at least tarte did listen to feedback and changed some things ❤
