this whole video reeks of entitlement to me. they got flown out for free, given rooms for free, free food, free drinks, free clothes, etc. it’s unrealistic to expect that EVERY room in a hotel let alone a small villa will be the same, and they should be happy they were even invited. As the one girl said, they were treated equally throughout the whole trip the only difference was the rooms, and I feel like it was just random assignments. taking it personal is just making drama for no reason. the tarte team even said it was random. I get that it was annoying that people got to stay but at the end of the day it’s how it is and to be invited in the first place is a privilege, so being annoyed that you didn’t get the second week is understandable but there’s no need to put people on blast for it. there’s people who would kill to go so it just comes across ungrateful and conceited to complain about these things.
And the comment section on her videos is 💀 💀 people telling her “OMG you are so brave, we believe you, speak your truth”. Like what? I don’t consume Tarte anymore but the entitlement is over the ceiling

Tarte does NOT have to play equally on this--it's marketing for their brand, and they get to decide how to allocate resources for it based on whether they believe an influencer's audience matches their buyer profile (which has nothing to do with how many followers they have). All the influencers received the same jewelry, clothing, makeup, hair stuff, etc. I used to edit a professional beauty magazine, and never had anything like this trip offered. Everyone needs to check their expectations...

So I’m going to school for social media marketing and FYI to anyone. You best follower range is 10,000-100,000 followers - they have the best engagement rates compared to people with larger followings. Pretty much the more followers you have, the smaller percentage of your follower audience that actually sees your stuff!
They couldn't even enjoy the damn trip that they got FOOOOR FREEEEE, because they let social media convince them something wasn't fair. Every single one of those influencers just guaranteed themselves never to be invited again. They let their followers finesse them out of future partnerships smh.

Sometimes life is teaching us something in a very brazen way. Watching these completely irrelevant and unaccomplished people have everything handed to them and still fight just reminds you that you have to find happiness in your life and in your attitude, because no amount of gifts and luxuries will make you happy if you are a greedy and envious person.
I don’t think it’s exposing the unfairness more than it is the entitlement these creators complaining about having less than cause they want what others have, completely forgetting just being grateful for the free trip they were given, with no pressure to promote the brand mind you. I totally agree. If small creators all had small rooms people would be upset because they were being treated differently from larger creators. At the end of the day it was probably just random and them wanting to give small creators some of the luxuries larger creators get all the time.
I also find it ridiculous how some of these influencers will bring up race when POC influencers (literally like Gloria) were given the "better" accommodations. Influencers need a reality pill... My dad's a doctor and he goes to a lot of "brand trips" from pharmaceutical companies. He's a pediatrician working on a public hospital, he usually always gets "the worst room" if you compare it with what other colleagues with private practices and more connections get. Has he ever "felt left out" because of that? Of course not. He knows that's gow life works, how business works, heck he juat feels super happy that he gets a free trip and sometimes can even bring my mom with him! Some people literally go their entire lives without having the opportunity to leave the city limits of wherever they were born. They will never see the ocean or mountains etc. I can’t imagine being anything but grateful for this stuff. That's what I'm saying, the fact she admitted she had to get off social media for that reason says a lot. It's the way this trip was all free and yet still finds the room to complain about the room size.
The thing is, it's so easy to compare when you're an influencer and this is comparison ON FULL BLAST. Of course I do think there is some "fact of the matter" areas. Tarte may just like Goloria better (she has less followers, but got nicer accommodation) or they want to be like "loook we care about our dark skinned queens! She has very dark skin and she's on this trip" Yes I'm jaded on company's intentions. I don't think she has to put up with racism, but I do think it's a case of overthinking. If tarte was actually anti south Asian, they wouldn't invite any south asians or desi people. As she said herself, its enough that we see a desi girl here in the first place. I remember that other brand trip where ALL the black/POC girls had worse accommodations than the white girls and yes that is racism, but this is a bad luck of the draw if anything.
I really think the room assignments were somewhat random because it's just impossible to have the same room for everyone in a resort. Like they have a certain number of big rooms, then smaller rooms etc

As a POC, these women thinking it’s about race is beyond me and ignorant. It is absolutely the case in SO many situation, but this is about who has the most reach and marketing. I don’t think it’s easy to be an influencer and I understand being hurt, but any normal person would be grateful to be in their shoes.

Tarte should just take smaller groups and make their trips extra special. No one will feel "left out" or "less than" and all socials will be good content. That's the way they used to do it and it worked for them.

As a F1 fan let me explain, the Miami gp is considered to be more of a social event rather than the race itself in some fan's opinion (the race on track is boring compared to other GPs). I understand why some influencers felt that they're being treated unfairly, because the majority of the big celebrities and influencers only show up on sunday (Race Day), because that is the day when they are getting the most attention, and clout. I'm not much into the beauty community, but i'm addicted to the TEA (Edit): I should also clarify that as I understands where she might be coming from doesn't mean that I agree with her, considering that she has an opportunity to go to an F1 race for free which the cost of would send most people into generational debt
Plus the qualifiers are just as competitive as race day. A lot of this drama sounds like people do not have knowledge or understanding of the F1 season. Point accumulation sports to determine champions are not as a popular to US audiences as they are to the rest of the world.

i think this is not a tarte issue, it’s an influencer issue. it does seem like highschool, but more like a bunch of bratty teenagers complaining that they didn’t get the FANCIEST of everything. the way the girl organizing the trips explained things made perfect sense to me. the whole thing seems to be very generous. i think it’s a bit tone def of people to complain…if i was offered half of the things these women were given i would be beyond grateful. cant even imagine being in a state where i could find something to complain about on these brand trips.

My dad worked for a company that took lavish trips like this. It was typically 2 weeks, 2 countries, but the second week and second country was the Presidents trip with a smaller crowd. My dad made both trips every year, because he sold enough to make both trips. I imagine tarte keeps up with influencer codes and probably uses that as a way to measure who got what room, who made both weekends, etc. It's not about their influence, it's abt their influence for TARTE. And if someone wanted to come and stay behind, they could. But they had to pay. It typically meant you spoke to the company travel agent to work something out. Sometimes we'd see a country on our own as a family and coordinate with the travel agents to fly into the company trips seamlessly. that's how shit typically works. ppl in other industries get snubbed. my dad got snubbed an award before as one of the top 8 agents in the company. shit happens. i wish they'd stop being entitled abt it and take advantage of the experiences they've been given. they're holding themselves back more than anything.

And it's delusional to believe someone who makes a brand 1M is going to get the same room as someone who makes them 100k. There's been many a trip where only certain, top selling people got penthouses, but we all understand it's about sales, and we're content with the fact that we're on an all expense paid trip in another country having the time of our lives! and when tarte says there wasn't influence in choosing things, they're lying. it may not be obvious on the outside, but behind the scenes it is. even if that person had 10m subs, that doesn't mean their subs purchase from tarte. In the same way that in my dad's company an agent selling in a large city doesn't automatically make more money and have more clients than people selling in smaller areas. if they actually had a way to show the numbers of their subscribers purchase strength or if an executive explicitly saying they purposefully screwed someone over came out, they'd have reason to be upset. until then, they need to learn to enjoy what amazing experience they've been given!
I’m a little confused about how Cynthia is claiming that she was treated differently because of her race when one of the girls she was complaining about getting worse treatment than was literally a dark skinned black woman? You know, the women who are typically the worst treated in society other than dark skinned black trans women. I don’t think it was about race but rather audience size. Because a white girl got a broken bathroom and a basement. I’m also sure there was a ton of other factors like how long they’ve been partnered with the brand, how many guests they brought, etc. also, i didn’t watch any of the room tours posted but I’m sure they made up for the smaller rooms by giving more gifts or more expensive gifts or something. While I do think there's been actual discrimination in the past, I feel like they've done a lot to make some things better. Instead of the memories of all the fun activities, these girls spoiled the trip/s for themselves. Also, brushing over the fact that you're constantly comparing yourself to others. This was something I also had to work on and my life has been so much more enjoyable since. She was so excited about all the stuff she got until she compared her room size to others. As an f1 fan I’m just upset these ppl are getting vip treatment for an f1 race when they don’t even care about the sport😭 To go to an f1 is so expensive, majority of the fans can’t even afford it, and they get great tickets, dinner and nightclub …. Regardless of which day just being able to see the cars live is a privilege itself let alone all the extras they get :( I get that they feel mistreated compared to other but this is a sport event that majority of the fans will never be able to attend, and they can go for free 🙃

In Germany there is a proverb which goes something like “don’t look into the mouth of a gifted horse”. It’s about being grateful for things you get for free and to not go searching for flaws in it. I think that’s very fitting for this
As someone that worked in hotels, we only have so many premium rooms. We see this a lot with weddings, if they get the wrong room they take it personally it’s honestly first come first serve.
Whatever happened to just being appreciative of been invited? It's a hotel they have different levels of rooms for different people. Some people get a big room some people get a little room some people just need to get over it

Not everyone will agree with this but I really think the creators of color are bringing race into this when it’s irrelevant. Tarte clearly tried to make each day of BOTH trips fun for everyone and obviously not everyone will get the exact same experience, it just doesn’t work like that. this whole video reeks of entitlement to me. they got flown out for free, given rooms for free, free food, free drinks, free clothes, etc. it’s unrealistic to expect that EVERY room in a hotel let alone a small villa will be the same, and they should be happy they were even invited. As the one girl said, they were treated equally throughout the whole trip the only difference was the rooms, and I feel like it was just random assignments. taking it personal is just making drama for no reason. the tarte team even said it was random. I get that it was annoying that people got to stay but at the end of the day it’s how it is and to be invited in the first place is a privilege, so being annoyed that you didn’t get the second week is understandable but there’s no need to put people on blast for it. there’s people who would kill to go so it just comes across ungrateful and conceited to complain about these things.

Tarte does NOT have to play equally on this--it's marketing for their brand, and they get to decide how to allocate resources for it based on whether they believe an influencer's audience matches their buyer profile (which has nothing to do with how many followers they have). All the influencers received the same jewelry, clothing, makeup, hair stuff, etc. I used to edit a professional beauty magazine, and never had anything like this trip offered. Everyone needs to check their expectations...

You best follower range is 10,000-100,000 followers - they have the best engagement rates compared to people with larger followings. Sometimes life is teaching us something in a very brazen way. Watching these completely irrelevant and unaccomplished people have everything handed to them and still fight just reminds you that you have to find happiness in your life and in your attitude, because no amount of gifts and luxuries will make you happy if you are a greedy and envious person.

He's a pediatrician working on a public hospital, he usually always gets "the worst room" if you compare it with what other colleagues with private practices and more connections get. The thing is, it's so easy to compare when you're an influencer and this is comparison ON FULL BLAST. Of course I do think there is some "fact of the matter" areas. Tarte may just like Goloria better (she has less followers, but got nicer accommodation) or they want to be like "loook we care about our dark skinned queens! She has very dark skin and she's on this trip" Yes I'm jaded on company's intentions. I don't think she has to put up with racism, but I do think it's a case of overthinking. If tarte was actually anti south Asian, they wouldn't invite any south asians or desi people. As she said herself, its enough that we see a desi girl here in the first place.
I remember that other brand trip where ALL the black/POC girls had worse accommodations than the white girls and yes that is racism, but this is a bad luck of the draw if anything.
I really think the room assignments were somewhat random because it's just impossible to have the same room for everyone in a resort. Like they have a certain number of big rooms, then smaller rooms etc

That’s how the millions upon millions of girls feel watching these women get free trips, free merchandise, and other things. As a F1 fan let me explain, the Miami gp is considered to be more of a social event rather than the race itself in some fan's opinion (the race on track is boring compared to other GPs). I understand why some influencers felt that they're being treated unfairly, because the majority of the big celebrities and influencers only show up on sunday (Race Day), because that is the day when they are getting the most attention, and clout.
I'm not much into the beauty community, but i'm addicted to the TEA

i think this is not a tarte issue, it’s an influencer issue. it does seem like highschool, but more like a bunch of bratty teenagers complaining that they didn’t get the FANCIEST of everything. the way the girl organizing the trips explained things made perfect sense to me. the whole thing seems to be very generous. i think it’s a bit tone def of people to complain…if i was offered half of the things these women were given i would be beyond grateful. cant even imagine being in a state where i could find something to complain about on these brand trips.

My dad worked for a company that took lavish trips like this. It was typically 2 weeks, 2 countries, but the second week and second country was the Presidents trip with a smaller crowd. My dad made both trips every year, because he sold enough to make both trips. I imagine tarte keeps up with influencer codes and probably uses that as a way to measure who got what room, who made both weekends, etc. It's not about their influence, it's abt their influence for TARTE. And if someone wanted to come and stay behind, they could. But they had to pay. It typically meant you spoke to the company travel agent to work something out. Sometimes we'd see a country on our own as a family and coordinate with the travel agents to fly into the company trips seamlessly. that's how shit typically works. ppl in other industries get snubbed. my dad got snubbed an award before as one of the top 8 agents in the company. shit happens. i wish they'd stop being entitled abt it and take advantage of the experiences they've been given. they're holding themselves back more than anything.

And it's delusional to believe someone who makes a brand 1M is going to get the same room as someone who makes them 100k. There's been many a trip where only certain, top selling people got penthouses, but we all understand it's about sales, and we're content with the fact that we're on an all expense paid trip in another country having the time of our lives!
and when tarte says there wasn't influence in choosing things, they're lying. it may not be obvious on the outside, but behind the scenes it is. even if that person had 10m subs, that doesn't mean their subs purchase from tarte. In the same way that in my dad's company an agent selling in a large city doesn't automatically make more money and have more clients than people selling in smaller areas.
if they actually had a way to show the numbers of their subscribers purchase strength or if an executive explicitly saying they purposefully screwed someone over came out, they'd have reason to be upset. until then, they need to learn to enjoy what amazing experience they've been given!

I’m a little confused about how Cynthia is claiming that she was treated differently because of her race when one of the girls she was complaining about getting worse treatment than was literally a dark skinned black woman? You know, the women who are typically the worst treated in society other than dark skinned black trans women. I don’t think it was about race but rather audience size. Because a white girl got a broken bathroom and a basement.
I’m also sure there was a ton of other factors like how long they’ve been partnered with the brand, how many guests they brought, etc. also, i didn’t watch any of the room tours posted but I’m sure they made up for the smaller rooms by giving more gifts or more expensive gifts or something. There just has to be more to this.

I feel like comparing yourself to others makes things much less enjoyable for you, to the point you can start to become miserable. These people got to go on such a fun trip. While I do think there's been actual discrimination in the past, I feel like they've done a lot to make some things better. Instead of the memories of all the fun activities, these girls spoiled the trip/s for themselves. Also, brushing over the fact that you're constantly comparing yourself to others. This was something I also had to work on and my life has been so much more enjoyable since. She was so excited about all the stuff she got until she compared her room size to others. Also, I'm not sure how passionate the person who turned down the second trip is about seeing the actual race, but I still think she could have had a lot of fun. These just aren't actual problems imo.

To go to an f1 is so expensive, majority of the fans can’t even afford it, and they get great tickets, dinner and nightclub …. Regardless of which day just being able to see the cars live is a privilege itself let alone all the extras they get :(

In Germany there is a proverb which goes something like “don’t look into the mouth of a gifted horse”. It’s about being grateful for things you get for free and to not go searching for flaws in it. I think that’s very fitting for this

As someone that worked in hotels, we only have so many premium rooms. We see this a lot with weddings, if they get the wrong room they take it personally it’s honestly first come first serve.
Whatever happened to just being appreciative of been invited? It's a hotel they have different levels of rooms for different people. Some people get a big room some people get a little room some people just need to get over it

I think influencers can be so ungrateful. Tarte fixing things and explaining things was a really good move on their part. I am on Tarte's side here. In a perfect world everybody would get the same room but it was a house not a hotel.

Not everyone will agree with this but I really think the creators of color are bringing race into this when it’s irrelevant. Tarte clearly tried to make each day of BOTH trips fun for everyone and obviously not everyone will get the exact same experience, it just doesn’t work like that. That one complaining about the F1 races is still getting to go to the practice days which are super fun, I had no idea Tarte brought her to see Taylor Swift too. Like literally what is there to complain about? Everyone in this video is just extremely entitled and it’s ridiculous in my opinion.
