I just wanted to let you all know that there is the 3G version for the systems with factory navigation and the 2G version for the non factory navigation like mine. If you have any specific questions you want answered leave a comment down below and I will gladly answer it.:)

*I could've avoided $830 if a professional installed it in the first place.
*Amp setup I opted for can handle a subwoofer when the time comes to upgrade, so there are cheaper options to get around the choppy audio issue.

Sorry for your troubles....I was wondering on whether you were able to release the glove box....I came to the same point an I am sure I released any possible bolt but while the right part is sagging the part closer to the central console does not move an inch exactly like in your video. Didi you find how ? I have e cabriolet 2015 MMI. Thank you in advance for any suggestion

Did you watch an installation video before starting yours? It seems your problems were due to a mistake you made. Also, you may have to select the camera in the settings.

What was the cause for the component protection mode to appear? When you turned on for the first time it looked like it worked fine.
So basically I turned the car on and the screen worked fine and the car turned on but I had no audio. I started testing fuses and wiring and everything was checking out. I ignored the audio issue at that moment because I thought it was just something I had to adjust in the screen itself so then I proceeded to completely remove the glove compartment to pass the cables into my glove box from the back. The car stopped wanting to turn on and wasn’t letting me go into accessory mode after I removed the glove box. I spent several days testing and checking every possible thing that could cause the car to not want to turn on and I even went to buy a new battery just in case I killed it. After all my efforts to try and get the car functional again I put my ego aside and sent it to get diagnosed by a professional and he told me I had fried the old computer. He then proceeded to get me a new computer and reprogrammed it to accept the android screen which is the $650 he charged me.
hello please help I bought a CarPlay module from you for my Audi a4 b8.5 2014, everything works but the air conditioning does not appear when I am in module mode (CarPlay), every time I want to see the air condition level I have to switch back to the mmi menu.
I think mine works in CarPlay-you just have to click the ac button first instead of just turning the knob
That’s crazy that a computer got fried and you had to rewire the whole speaker system! I know the car will go into protect mode if you disconnect the hazard light button with the battery connected. But you can reset it with VCDS easily. Sounds like you had more issues than only that…. Installing only the backup camera is pretty standard so that is frustrating you could not get that to work. I’m not even tempted to try this after watching! I’ll stick with my backup camera on original small screen and my phone in a dollar store mount. Yikes! Thanks for the video!
Can you disconnect the hazard light button if it has no airbag button on it?
good morning ! a help my friend .I did the installation but it only plays radio .when I connect to Bluetooth no sound is heard and neither is the tachometer. thanks
That sounds like the problem I was running into. Have you tried going to the sound feature and changing the source to “external source”?

aaah man feel sorry for an extra money you have had to spend! But looking at you fighting while removing air vents were painful enough lol You should have watch some video instructions on youtube... and taking the headlining off just to put rear camera wire ? lol who does that
U shudnt have switched car on before u connected everything and keep car key out.. And maybe even disconnect battery
