That PS1 port was the first time I experienced Final Fantasy 4 as well. Sadly, I was struggling to find myself and my place in the world at the time and I wasn't ready for a JRPG, even though I had done them previously. I tried but "drifted away" after losing badly at the Giant of Babel... and I always regretted it. I returned to Final Fantasy 4 via the Pixel Remaster Collection and finally beat Final Fantasy 4 this year, earning a PlayStation Platinum Trophy in just 3 Days. I see why this is a fan favorite in the series even today.
Ive never heard a single remix of any ff song thats better than it's original counterpart. Something about creating music within the limits of an older game system really maximized creativity.
Would it be OK if I post my vocals and lyrics over a part of this song please? This is such an awesome remix, and there's a part that would be ideal for a little FF4 parody song I wrote
That's just because you're used to the original version, which incidentally was a lot more revolutionary at the time. Technically speaking this is miles better than the original.
I love this theme in all of its versions. I do agree that this version isn't quite as powerful as some of the others, it's nice to hear the different instruments. The drums, for instance, are more noticeable here, and also the trumpet is more melancholic. But, on the other hand (and more to your point), hearing "mundane" instrumentation does detract a bit of the "magic" from the original, but still! There's Power here, and I appreciate that. Final Fantasy 4 is one of my favorites, and I *still* stream it, and its many versions, to this very night. At any rate, we'll always have the original! (And the Celtic Moon version!)
best world map in the series
I first played this on the PS1 Chrono trigger/ff4 chronology version well after ff7 released but it's still buried deep in my heart

Ff4 will always hold a special place in my heart. Best overworld theme of every final fantasy
"A true paladin... will sheathe his sword."
Tellah: Cecil why don't you attack?
Cecil: I don't care, he'll die after a few turns.
I really love this. It feels like it could be the soundtrack to my life, inviting me to explore and calling me to be true to myself. ❤
it's amazing how soken remixed this on golbez trial on FFXIV

Either that, or they screw up the Ha! Part during Mambo de Chocobo
they're not meant to be, they're meant to be as good as you remember them
@@machinatingminotaur6285hmm but they add more pattern in some tracks, no? Like in the main theme of FF2, and FF6 Forever Rachel
Instant goose bumps!
My First Final Fantasy game i ever plade when i was little❤️
The snaredrum's reverb in this version is a bit off, but otherwise a great conversion.
its been so long and even to this day that snare ruins the music for me to the point i prefer the other versions
Шикарно

the mouse cursor is bothering me more than it should
I am sorry. That was my mistake; I forgot to move the cursor. I will try not to do that again.
@@GamerMusic1239What a chad, taking accountability.

It honestly doesn't hit the same as it's previous versions
I plan to add both old and new version some time later. Please check back again. Maybe, you will like it.
Agreed. The opening was kind of weak

It hits BETTER (imo)
Which system is this particular version on? Does not look like super Nintendo
It is Pixel Remastered version in mobile and steam
It’s ff2 on the Super Nintendo
