    "I don't actually know how to get this in." The one line, no one, under any circumstances, wants to hear, ever, and Adam you go and say it!! Thank God you were able to figure it out is all I have to say!!!
    Looks like the skylight will need some tint to keep you from roasting while you do your bathroom business. That will be especially true in the AZ sun, which I just happen to know a thing or two about.
    Great job figuring out the Schluter system. Bathrooms are hard no matter what. Although, I think any job is made way easier when you go with the power of the red crocs. I'm pretty sure that's been studied and proven.
    Thanks for another fun build vid. Looking forward to seeing what tile you pick and getting it stuck to the walls. But don't be making me wait a month to find out, that's just mean!

      The crocs put “best foot forward” to a whole new meaning… they r truly magical and are the best building footwear. We’ve talked about having some sort of shade option for the skylight but after this project I think it’s become an even higher priority LOL

      @@AdamandAtlas I concur. Getting sunburned while showering could present a whole other set of new concerns. With the plastic, I think, one of the static cling tint sheets would be ideal. It won't mess with the plastic. It's easier to put on, and you can get it in whatever tint level you'd like. Also, the steam won't bother it. My two cents, but I'm not the professional here doing this build, and it isn't my house.

    Hey guy's, great too see you. Steph, love how you are not afraid to get stuck in with a project. The rainfall heads are fab, got one in my shower, they do use a lot of water mind.

      Yeah we knew that when we got it! We’re planning on making a recirculating shower 🧐 couldn’t pass up the luxury of a rainfall shower head 😂 I’m such a hands on person and I love trying new things! Most projects I take the lead and adam helps me 😂😂 except plumbing and electrical, that’s all adam hahaha

    What were the final interior dimensions for your shower floor?

  • @phillyguy8541

    I have a feeling you're going to regret that skylight unless you can put some kind of shade over it. In a hot shower with the heat pouring through it is going to be like a steam-bath or sauna.

    • @AdamandAtlas
      @AdamandAtlas  2 роки тому

      I don’t think we’ll every regret putting the skylight in. I couldn’t imagine if it was sheet metalled right over top.. it’s so beautiful but yes it does make it warm in the bathroom. Luckily our Skoolie has improved thermals without all the original windows, insulated RV windows and 2” of closed cell spray insulation. And we plan on installing air conditioning for those really really hot days. When we made this video it was 36 degrees Celsius, and we were working pretty hard so it made it that much warmer.. I think a cold water shower in a warm room does sound nice to me though! 😅 we also plan on installing a fan to remove the moisture and the heat from the bathroom! Of course the skylight makes it warmer but I don’t think we’ll ever regret it 😀

    • @lipinskirl
      @lipinskirl 2 роки тому

      I have to disagree, that skylight is awesome! I think it’s one thing these two will be very proud of.

  • @Swampkrew
    @Swampkrew 2 роки тому

    I don’t have any experience doing a system like this and now I’m pretty sure I don’t want to lol 😂.
    I do still love the skylight. I’m 6’2” and need to get one put in mine. How much did yours add to the roof height?

    • @AdamandAtlas
      @AdamandAtlas  2 роки тому

      Haha it wasn’t too bad! The skylight made it super hot to work in a tiny space though! I’m 6’1 and I’ve got tons of head space! The interior wall to wall of the bathroom is 23” wide and on the side closer to the middle of the bus we raised it about 5”! The other side to match with a slight grade down for water runoff. Hopefully that helps you get a better idea!

      @@AdamandAtlas what about the exterior roof height? How much did that add?

      @@Swampkrew after putting the deck on the roof, it’s pretty flush! Check out our part two deck video to see the final shots in the end! We love how the deck just hugs around the skylight and makes it look very seamless 😀

    Did you guys look into using red guard? Why exactly did you go this way

    • @AdamandAtlas
      @AdamandAtlas  2 роки тому

      We went with this system because of its adjustable floor pan size. In my research I learned that this could be cut down easily and also extended easily, and so for our very long and narrow shower size it was perfect for us. We then decided just to go with the whole system for the walls as well! If there was another floor pan on the market in our very specific dimensions, we would have gone with red guard! It’s another amazing product for sure! 😀

  • @marcush4

    What is the interior width of your bathroom. I'm in the process of building out my bus and trying to figure out how thin of a bathroom I can do. Also wondering if ya'll could share a floor plan if you have one.

    • @AdamandAtlas
      @AdamandAtlas  2 роки тому

      Hey! It’s about 21” wide.. that’s as wide as we could go with a queen size bed next to it! We have an “empty Skoolie tour” video on our channel that really goes into our plans for the rest of the build!

    Those Crocs are not safe for this kind of work! You should be more responsible and get the bright yellow ones!
