Half-life 2 textures that are seen in-game are not vtf files they are just vmt files (hidden in hl2_misc_dir.vpk) that point to vtf files and do some stuff with them like texture scrolling so security_screen.vtf is just a texture but security_screens.vmt and security_screens2.vmt are the materials that are seen on models
alright but still, where are the 6 other located at? i would look into the .vmt file for screens2, but i've got no idea where i can find that.
@@TimSosman The security_screen.vtf is an animated texture made from three textures in one vtf file if you press Export all button in VTFEdit you will get three images.
In 3:16 the image is the first frame of the security_screen.vtf (VTFEdit starts numbers from 0).
So in short security_screens.vmt uses security_screens.vtf which is slowly scrolling to the left and security_screens2.vmt uses security_screen.vtf which is an animated texture that has 3 textures packed into file and is changing its frame every 3 seconds.
@@anon250 well that's kinda odd 'cause when i exported out security_screen.vtf i only got the top-layer question. I'm guessing i exported it out wrong?
@@TimSosman Did you use the Export all button in VTFEdit? if you used the Export button you will only get the top texture

When Im in a bizzare texture competition and my opponent is the weird advisor screen texture I couldnt find anywhere but I can visualise it in my mind guys trust me its real Im not crazy I know he swapped those textures Its real guys

I'm not very well versed in beta content but the camera at 3:40 reminds me of Air Exchange
well yeah i guess, but the problem is, all of the cameras have been taken either from d1_trainstation_01, or d1_trainstation_02, which means it should be from either one of these two maps. Another thing is, the beta i'm tackling in this video, is the 2003 one, and that's the beta that had a story re-write, meaning that there's no AirEx whatsoever in this version of the game. It would be kinda stupid to have cameras from an completely different version of the game. It's comparable to having 2fort on one of these cams, don't you think?
