I'm an 80 year old guy who has dreamed of walking the trail but as life and health get in the way was not able to do it myself. However Evan, because of you " Racoon1" has made the trip and dream come true! If I'm ever in Nashville I would like to shake your hand and buy you a beer!! Thanks and God Bless!!
I retired at 62 with the expectation of doing this trail. Spent too much money on new gear, pronptly got a lung infection, covid hit, finally survived tne li g I fection and now at 70, I’m working my way back. I can go about 4 hours now without a break. Maybe by next year…
@frankedgar6694 Frank, I'm 61, right there with you. Dreamed of walking the AT all my life, military life and family and just life in general has been an obstacle. I'll retire in 6 years and will hopefully be in good enough shape to still complete the walk. I'm inspired by older folks attempting and succeeding the AT walk. Thx for your point of view.
I’m 40 and having a bit of a midlife crises lol. You inspire me buddy. I want to do this while I’m young yet and so I can squeeze in multiple hikes (triple crown). 2025 is when I want to start. I hope the world is still standing.
Thinking of life as an obstacle makes me sad. You choose your own obligations and should consider what you're sacrificing when you choose. Anyone can do it!
I'm 70, have had both hips replaced and deal with Myasthenia Gravis. I too thank you. Been around the world, but settled in Virginia these last 3 years.
I’d lived to do the AT. I’ve always wanted to do but one thing after another I missed out of a great dream. You guys and gals are so lucky! Great job to all of you!
My 88-year-old uncle once had a dream to hike the Appalachian trail but he never got around to it. I went to visit him and he lived near boiling springs and I expressed interest in the trail to him. Wanted to go take pictures of the trail etc but was surprised that he asked me to hike it with him. He had never been on the trail after all the years of living near it and thinking about it. We did 3.5 mi and I know that's not much but it was a huge accomplishment for an 88-year-old! I decided I want to go back to that same spot and hike it when I turn 88!! I was excited that my first person that I met on the trail was a through hiker. Inspired and so many ways
I just watched this again after 3 years or so, and it made me smile just as much. I am retired now, and still hiking. NEVER GIVE IN! Thanks again for the inspiration.
My husband and I, who love to hike and dream of hiking the AP but knowing we aren’t in the right shape, just watched your entire video and it wasn’t the first time I’ve watched it. My mom passed away 2 years ago and while she was sick, on hospice my dad and I would set by her in the living room and watch AT videos, I always thought yours was one of the best, and Handstand! I cried as you reached the summit to Mt Katahdin. Congrats!
Six thousand years from now, when anthropologists are trying to recreate the appalachian trail, this video is found on a half destroyed youtube server somehow preserved in the ash from yellowstone's eruption. It had been 5500 years since the first alien invasion, 2900 yrs since the eighth intergalactic war, and 1500 yrs since we found intelligent species in a galaxy other than our own, yet this is considered the greatest archeological find in hundreds of years.
When I first started watching, I thought “there’s no way I’m watching this whole video”. 30 min in and I’m hooked. Great video. I love hiking and this has got me really interested in attempting the AT.
SMe here. I said I’ll give it about 10 minutes well it’s been 45 and I’m saving the rest for tomorrow. Pretty cool I see a lot of hikers doing the pacific coast trail while delivering in the idle wild mountains in so cal pretty cool to see it from the hikers point of view
As someone who is not a backpacker/hiker I can say this made me want to be more in touch with myself and nature. its made me want to challenge my mind and body. I really needed to see how much this world has to offer outside of my every day to day life. Thank for making this video and congratulations!
Please do. When you are hiking, you leave the world behind. Not only do you obtain great physical fitness benefits but tremendous mental health benefits. There’s nothing like getting in tune with nature to reduce stress and reinvigorate yourself.
Seeing the hiker in the video who was working on eating 4 fully-loaded hot dogs reminded me about one of my backpacking ‘revelations’ which had to do with what some might call ‘hunger’ that I realized then was more properly understood as ‘food insecurity’. I ate regularly on the trail and actually gained 15 pounds of muscle in a month by carrying my load plus I started taking some of the load off others in my group and taking their donations of cheese and hard salami which I snacked on as I walked. For a month I was in the Marble Mountain Wilderness of Northern California - there were no shelters, huts, hostels, waystations, visitor centers, grocery stores, restaurants, motels, etc. I did get really tired of freeze-dried peas and carrots so when I went out on a 3 day solo with no food I was so happy to catch trout from the nearby lake and cook it up in my canteen cup with wood sorrel I had foraged. I also had the opportunity to cross the rimrock ridge of a box canyon and drop down into a series of lakes with no trails going into them where my partner and I caught 36 trout in an hour and a half - we had trout for lunch, trout for dinner, and trout for breakfast and then brought the remainder back to the rest of the group to satisfy their own food insecurity. I’m 76 now and can hardly walk with bad knees and a bad back after years as a wildland firefighter - but I still love trout! Here’s a video I made about that trip many years later - the song was recorded in 1998 and the video made in 2010: ua-cam.com/video/oaEVhkuwUBg3/v-deo.html
I have stage four cancer. Always wanted to do the trail in sections. I think I ‘ll do it for my friends and new friends. I am so proud of him for doing this. Brings our spirits up!!!!
My daughter, Jillian Buckets, was on trail with you, she only made the 1/4 way mark. I am thankful for your video. Seeing the orange tag and the 1/4 way sign meant the world to me.... for more reasons than you can know. Thankful to see the paths she crossed..... wish she could have made it to "K". Her tramily "Scatter" and "Valc" carried her bucket to Katadin ❤ so glad I stumbled upon your video.
Evan I’m turning 67 this month doing this trail would be a dream come true I can only imagine the exhilaration of reaching the finish line on this long & sometimes excruciatingly hard but beautiful hiking trail but the beauty being worth every agonizing minute of it congratulations on completing this marvelous experience and thanks so much for sharing it with those of us that can only dream❤
So I just turned 60. I hiked parts of the trail when I was younger and when getting off it after a weekend of hiking to return to my 9-5 M-F job I swore one day I would do the whole trail. This video has reignited in my a desire to do that. I will keep you posted.
I'm here one year later to say. Please tell me you still wanna hike it. I love seeing older people on the trail, it makes me feel hopeful when I get 40 years down the road!
Congratulations Evan!!! I’m a 61 year old guy with a long outstanding bucket list item to complete a thru-hike on the AT- unfortunately, won’t be able too until I retire (65-67). A friend of mine completed his (Detail) thru hike & I followed his blog religiously- Evan, your video documentation was AWESOME - Thank you for keeping the fire lit in me - I will make it happen
The look on Yelp's face when he talks about his Dad and then on the last day when he says let's do it together. Tears. . .thank you so much for taking us all on this adventure with you. I didn't want to say goodbye to you guys. I can't imagine what it must have been like to go your separate ways. Lovely, true friendships ❤️
Thank you and Congrats. In my 20's I hiked the John Muir Trail, and always wanted to do the AT. I'm 77 now, have a Alum Walker, needless to say, I'm stuck on the beach in Florida. Thru your camera, I got a good idea of what you saw. I'm forever greatfull. Best wishes to you and yours, remember "Get outside, Be Happy!" Brooks out.
My late husband hiked the AT back in the 70's. He kept a very interesting, detailed log that I typed and published for our family and friends. But, as great as his descriptions were, there's nothing like actually seeing the mud, rocks, mountains, lakes and beauty of this amazing trail. Thanks Even for taking us along with you on your journey! Now, I'm going to watch Liz's video!
Evan, had the pleasure of meeting you at Trail Day 2019. We talked briefly about you, Liz, and Luke but I failed to tell you my favorite scene in your wonderful video series of last year’s thru hike: Liz’s reaction when you caught up with all of them in the Whites. It was just good to see friends excited to see you again and be with you to continue on the journey as a group.
Good job. Hiking the AT has always been on my bucket list. I just never had the time or money at the same time. I'm 68 now and its still on my list. Who knows. But thanks agian for showing me what I'm missing.❤
Being stuck in my apartment through this pandemic craziness when I so love and long the outdoors is very difficult mentally, physically and spiritually. Through your experience I was taken out of this box and transported to a journey that is so beautiful because it is so raw and difficult. God bless you for putting fresh air back into my lungs through your cellphone camera. I am truly grateful and I hope to see more of your videos soon my man!
@@orangescout1967 right on partner, thanks. I'm planning a weekend outing soon to the Adirondacks. It will be liquid joy and I'm planning to drink my fill! Blessings to you OS.
Jesus people go out! If you still believe this pandemic charade by now...i don't know what to say. How can you listen to POLITICIANS and thier lackeys about things that impact your lives so much?! I mean really im genuinely curious.
I completed my thru-hike of the AT in 2014, and I've just got to say that this is the best documentary of the trail that I've seen so far. You have a great sense of humor. It was so nice to see the trail family stick together until the very end. Congratulations and thank you for allowing us to tag along on your journey.
Absolutely fantastic. I have many disabilities and love the woods. Love hiking but cannot walk as well but I do it on my time. I went to the Ap trail NC and TN. Just to see it and hike what I can . It’s so cool and if I was not full of bone issues I would do this. Through your video I actually feel like I know what it’s about. I absolutely loved this. I did not know it was this busy. I was out there in March . Crazy and so cool
This is amazing video my friend. I am very envious. I’m 47 years old and I’m just now thinking about getting into hiking. I’m going to start off small and try to work my way big in the next couple of years. Thank you for the experience❤
The last part of the video brings back memories. In 1997, when I was 39 years old, a friend and I did a 1-day climb and descend on Mt. Katahdin by the same route as you. It was a cool spring day, clear skies and over 100 miles of visibility. Just gorgeous on top of that mountain. On the way up, we shared a portion of the climb with a young woman from Michigan who was starting her journey to conquer the Appalachian Trail from Maine southward. I have a tremendous amount of respect for anyone attempting this feat. Kudos to you and your group for completing this journey. And thanks for bringing back some good memories!
I'm an old walker, now disabled and the longest and best I've done in 6 years is 4 miles in 5 hours. Then I was down for 3 days. It was a nice flat trail too Thanks for your video, it's great to see such nice areas still exist anymore . I grew up in the Adaiondacks which have been drawn down to a point like the trail in New Jersey you came through. ( I hiked it back in the 70s) tree roots on top of the ground. Thanks for reminding me of good memories. God Bless You 🙏
ive watched this a couple times now, learn somthing new everytime. no other AT hike documentary has so many history lessons about bridges, buildings, towns and everything alike. love it
Thank you so much for letting me accompany you virtually the length of this entire trek. I really enjoyed this feel-good video. GOD bless all of you wonderful people. Much love from Chicago.
Standing ovation! Congratulations on finishing this arduous journey and many thanks for sharing your thoughts and scenery with us flatlanders. Truly an astounding accomplishment and I wish you many more miles of happy wandering!
Thank you Evan, you did an outstanding job hiking the AT and recording your adventure ! Your an amazing person with an awesome attitude. Thank you again and god speed.
Thank you so much for sharing this amazing hike with this 72 year old lady who would have loved to do this at a younger age. It was amazing! (Tears in my eyes.)
@@myrnawashington9057 yes, I felt like that too! It's really a blessing to be able to travel along with others. Thanks for your post! I bet we could be great friends!
Wow this was so cool to watch an get the whole experience thru everything in every aspect: from the terrain to the rivers ans mountain tops...very exhilarating to catch the moments you went thru. Thanks for sharing your experiences. ❤
Wow Evan, Very nice job on the whole AT experience. I watched you, Hand Stand, and the Crawfords in 2018. It was so inspirational that my best friend and I hit the trail in 2019. I just wanted to say that you are extremely talented, Music, Art, Video grapher etc. So awesome to watch the whole AT experience’s in 1 go. The Crawfords did the same and I enjoyed watching theirs as well. You marrying Luke and Liz at the top of Katahdin was then icing on the cake. Thank you so much for sharing!!
As somebody who will probably never step foot on the AT, I just happened to stumble upon your video and channel. I really didn't think I would watch all of it and you sucked me me right in and kept me entertained and glued to the TV the entire time. my heart smiled when you you were able to meet up with your friends at the camp in the clouds… THANK YOU for making this!!! Y'all rock!!!!!
Thank you Evan. This has been, well, you pulled me in all the way in. My face is closer to the iPad than it needs to be but I didn’t want to miss anything. I have only watched one other, more of a documentary, about a woman solo hiking near Katahdin. The pace you walked was inspirational. Beautiful video. Well done. Smiling happy I found you.
I like how u include a little more of the historical info that some others don't mention. Some people may refer to it as the nerdy 🤓 stuff but I think its awesome 👌 such a great AT video 💜💙
It’s the only reason I continued watching it after he began rifling through abandoned camps with food & supplies, which are to be reported as most are missing people who have yet to be found. The AT claims approx 100 lives a year that don’t return home from the trails & are missing for years.
Yep, same here. My dad drove my grandfather to Newfound Gap to see the Roosevelt dedication. on a different subject captured some photo of Catawba Rhododendrons at 22:25 partly due a later start than the March crowd.
Thanks so much for letting me relive my journey in 2005. You met Miss Janet up in Maine? What the heck? She used to run a hiker hostel in her house in Erwin, TN on the other side of town from Uncle Johnny's. I know the town folks were giving her a hard time for having lots of hikers hanging around. Maybe they ran her out. Bless her heart.
A nice revisit. I watched your uploads as you posted them, way back when, and saw this. One of my favorite AT thru hike series. Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed them thoroughly.
Liz's final (and unforgettable) AT video is here: ua-cam.com/video/2Lc1b3qcKWk/v-deo.html Please watch it at once: you won't be disappointed! Now, about what I'm doing going forward-- I’m writing this comment from home-which means I’m back at home! Many have asked about "post-trail adjustment." I’m so glad I hiked the AT, but I’m also glad I’m back at home. For me, post-trail adjustment will be easy. For one, I’m returning to a busy life. And two, I can rely on one of the truths I learned about myself on the AT: being at home with my family will always be preferable to being away. (Well, I knew this already, but the AT experience confirmed it for me once again.) If you have specific questions about my hike, please leave a comment and I promise to respond. My email address is in the video description, but please limit the emails to private matters. If you think the answer to your questions might be beneficial to others, please leave a comment rather than sending an email. If you want to stay connected to me in my upcoming activities, please follow me on Instagram at my account @Backpacker_Comics. I’m putting my post-trail thoughts there! Links to all the places you can find my music are listed on the website "evanschaeffermusic.com." That includes Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud (all my new stuff goes here first), Free Music Archive, and my other UA-cam channel, "Evan Schaeffer Music." Finally, if you have any interest in satiric writing about lawyers and the law, check out my book "How to Feed a Lawyer (and Other Observations from the Legal Underground)" at Amazon. There is a website that collects my biography, writings, and all other relevant links in one place--"evanschaeffer.com" Thanks to all who followed my hiking adventures on this channel! And remember, it's not ALL about the Appalachian Trail -- I've hiked many trails and tried to make interesting videos about them, including the Benton MacKaye Trail and the Sheltowee Trace, plus many trips in the Smokies. All these videos will remain up at this channel, so consider watching them sometime if you haven't already. Thanks!
Evan, I've watched your AT thru-hike video a few times over the years (as well as the videos of other thru-hikers). I must say, that moment where you caught back up with your tramily is the single greatest moment captured in any AT video I have ever seen. Thank you for taking us all on your journey with you.
"Leave the food bag for the bears" smart move on their part, encourage bears to the trail so someone can call the cops on them. Glad you picked it up, thanks.
All I could think about was how that bear was on its way to being put down after getting a taste of human food. I’m glad you picked it up and packed it out.
as a lifelong fan of the trail, I am amazed at the quality of the entire video. Beautiful work. 55 yrs ago when my brother and I stepped on the trail over I70 I wanted to hike the trail and with your video I feel I have. Thanks dude
Wow,, what a great journey, enjoyed it very much. Of course you did the walking all I had to do was the watching. And you're from Nashville, I live right down the road in Springfield, thanks for the adventure
The AT, or any other long hike through just isn't in my future. Vicariously, I walk along with you, hanging onto every word and, all the trials on the trails. Thanks for sharing.
Now that's what I call a "walkabout", mate! I hiked portions of the Trail during some of my training at Ft. Bragg. I always thought about tramping it all but you've done it! Much respect.
I'm a three time AT end-to-ender, Thru-hiked in 2002. This was fun for me to be taken back, I was a bit surprized by how crowded the trail is. Thank you, Bamboo Bob
I'm a black lady from Detroit 64 and disabled now, I've never hike yet., but I'm going to get poles this spring and put the cane down.. Thank you for this beautiful informative vedio. Tell Hand Stand I have dread locks and she did them proud !
I will never be able to go now, so I want to thank you so much for this video. It takes the sharp edge off my sadness and regret! Looked pretty miserable sometimes, and awesome at others. Im so glad you were able to do it for me! AT Strong!
Sir, that was so beautiful I hope this does not make me sound like a freak! But I have watched Liz handstands video when you snuck up behind her and told her to turn around! And I’ve watched your video several times when you snuck up behind her and said he turn around and how excited she was it’s absolutely awesome! And it touches my heart very deeply! I don’t know what it is! But U2 seriously have some friendship chemistry! The three of you are awesome and amazing! Thank you so much sir, for posting these videos I am leaving October 3, 2020 and my friend and I are going to Georgia to hike for a couple of days on the Appalachian Trail and we are going to Nails gap! I am Blind my friend is taking me so that I can experience a little bit of the trail! I am so pumped and so excited to do this! You’re an amazing person and an amazing human being and I love every video that I have watched with you and the brat child handstand! I’m not judging I passed no judgment upon anybody anybody and everybody is allowed and able to be themselves! There’s only one true judge and it’s not me! I am a little bit long-winded! And if it offend you well I guess we can pass that off to Miss Liz! Thank you sir for an amazing videos and for you being the awesome person that you are!
So, your back? Did you miss the UA-cam world? You were so definitive about retiring from posting videos. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy to see your back & hope there is more to come.
Well done... Interesting watching the group gel as the miles fell behind you. People from different places and backgrounds coming together with kindness to overcome demanding daily challenges.
So amazing. This is inspiring. Thank you. I've started to do quite some trailrunning on the New York part of the AT - what would you advice when encountering a beer. Stay in place and make noise or slowly back off while making noise? Greetings from a Dutchman.
I stumbled upon this video today. What a truly wonderful and picturesque film. I have a family member who has hiked the AT a couple of times to bring attention to suicide and I have always wondered what it must be like to walk the entire trail. What wonderful people you met and developed close friendships with. Thank you for sharing your journey and I look forward to watching more of your videos.
A beautiful story! Loved all parts of it. Made me feel sad when it was over. Such a wonderful experience and bonding for you Luke Liz and Yelp. The best to the four of you. Thanks for sharing. Have always been curious about the trail. What a hike 😊🌲😊
So cool to be able to have a record of your hike that will eventually be archival footage one day. A few friends and I did the AT from VT to VA in 87 when we finished HS and we've only got a few rolls worth of pics but great memories. Didn't encounter near as many people as you did and no cell phones were actually a blessing in my opinion.
Congrats to you and your small tramily. I thru hiked it back in 1977/78. 6 years ago i became a below the knee amputee, a year after loosing my leg below the knee i was in georgia. I got all the way to virginia before my hiking poles broke. A hiker made me two hiking poles out of tree branches. Another hiker gave me some spray for my very sore knees that i fell on. The spray was called Stopain. I still use that spray. This year im turning 63. The trail will live on. But it will never see me again. My grand daughters will get my gear, just in case they join the girl scouts. My memory will live on. Thank you for the memorys
I know this is 4 years old, but it makes me reflect on how much the world has changed in such a short time. At 72 years old I have seen my fare share and done my fare share. The world is a different place today than just 4 years ago, but one thing that never changes is peoples love for nature, adventure, and the great outdoors! I loved watching this documentary of something I longed to do in my life, but could never make it happen! Good job to you and your friends!
Congratulations to you all. I just came across this video and I felt a part of it. I actually felt sad when it was over. Thanks for documenting the hike.
This is one of the most amazing AT hiking documentaries I have ever seen. I'm looking forward to my start date on May 3rd at Hot Springs NOBO. Thank you for sharing your experience
Impressive journey, this was like returning the ring to Mordor, but with less Orcs. Joking aside you hikers deserve a lot of respect, that is one hell of a challenge I think most people could not endure.
Since I was a teenager, I am now 80 yrs., I have wanted to hike the trail. But no longer see it possible to do that, I waited to long. Want your video did for me was give me encouragement to get more active and walk every day. I loved your video and watched every minute of it. Keep on walking, one feet infront of the other. Thank you.
This was very good! We were with you all the way. Very good pictures, felt like we were right there through the rain, cold and heat. Well done! A good ending.
I have heard of this trail, looks like the trail can be a challenge as is the weather mainly rainy weather. Not quite the same as a hike on the Tundra or in the boreal but challenging all the same. Thanks for sharing and a special thanks for including some of the cultural and natural history along the way!
Thanks for the recap! Even though I followed you all the way I still liked seeing it all put together. Thanks especially for all the research you did in advance and sharing the history and details of the AT with us. I liked your unique backpacking style and demeanor. I miss all my UA-cam through hikers now that they are finished. I think I’m going into trail withdrawal...lol. Please keep us informed on your future adventures even if they are not on the trail. When you watch five to six months of videos you feel like your hiker is family!
didnt realise it was an hour and a half when i clicked on it, but i watched it all and enjoyed every second of it, great upload, makes me want to go for a hike but i got compressed discs and nerve damage in my back so i guess i will have to subscribe so i can join you(in spirit) on your hikes, thanks from Liverpool, England
For 50+ years I have wanted to do this hike. WONDERFUL. Liz? Stole my heart. Love her smile & attitude. Thank You, God Speed & "Happy Trails". "Secondhand Soldier."

Congratulations to all of you..... I'm 70 and I lived this trip through your eyes...and I thank you for that

Thank you... missed hiking...

Thank you for taking me back to my happy days
So cool
I’d lived to do the AT. I’ve always wanted to do but one thing after another I missed out of a great dream. You guys and gals are so lucky! Great job to all of you!

You’re welcome-thanks for the comment!
Watching this video is like reading a good book. I enjoyed it so much and then ...... it had to end. Thank you for taking me along with you. :)
Greg Outdoors I agree! I accidentally ran across this video and couldn’t stop watching!
Agreed 100%
Well put! Great adventure!
Ed Fenne watched the entire video in one sitting and when it was over I told everyone that I just thru hiked the AT in an hour and a half.
I think you just described a life fulfilled - make the most of it
My husband and I, who love to hike and dream of hiking the AP but knowing we aren’t in the right shape, just watched your entire video and it wasn’t the first time I’ve watched it. I love it : ) Great imagination (unless you're a time traveller and these events are yet to happen)
Wait, so aliens are going to invade in 500 years. I'm going to mark that on my calendar.
This is a riceist comment. Eliens are not invaders but galactic explorers. Marx has taught us this. All Hail!
When I first started watching, I thought “there’s no way I’m watching this whole video”. 30 min in and I’m hooked. Great video. I love hiking and this has got me really interested in attempting the AT.
Good luck with it!

Evan, this has been one of the better videos of the AT that I have seen.
Thanks, appreciate it!
Same here!
Thank you... I can't do what you did. I am a person with a wheelchair because your video I feel like I been the AT Thru....Thank you
Same with me too I know the feeling past 18 years paralyzed from waist down.
Same here. Not in a chair but disabled. Was wonderful to go along on this hike.
I have stage four cancer. Always wanted to do the trail in sections. I think I ‘ll do it for my friends and new friends. I am so proud of him for doing this. Brings our spirits up!!!!
God Bless Song Min
@@markmachado2634 God Bless you...
I would like to go too! Im 6o!
So I just turned 60. I hiked parts of the trail when I was younger and when getting off it after a weekend of hiking to return to my 9-5 M-F job I swore one day I would do the whole trail. This video has reignited in my a desire to do that. I will keep you posted.
It will turn your knees to jelly.
Do it and post your own videos. We will root you on.
I'm here one year later to say. Please tell me you still wanna hike it. I love seeing older people on the trail, it makes me feel hopeful when I get 40 years down the road!
Same here! Excellent video!🎉
"Any words of wisdom?" "Keep walking" Love it!!! 🥰
Like a Forest Gump statement..loved it too
I am 73....thank you for hiking the trail for me.....bless you all
Congratulations Evan!!!
In my 20's I hiked the John Muir Trail, and always wanted to do the
AT.
What a wonderful labor of ❤.
Eat Maine ice cream while you can.
Marvelous video with fabulous people and adventures 💚
Being stuck in my apartment through this pandemic craziness when I so love and long the outdoors is very difficult mentally, physically and spiritually. Through your experience I was taken out of this box and transported to a journey that is so beautiful because it is so raw and difficult. God bless you for putting fresh air back into my lungs through your cellphone camera. I am truly grateful and I hope to see more of your videos soon my man!

Jesus people go out! If you still believe this pandemic charade by now...i don't know what to say.
How can you listen to POLITICIANS and thier lackeys about things that impact your lives so much?! I mean really im genuinely curious.
@@orangescout1967 people actually stayed home ??? LOL wtf for.
Agree but not Jesus fault
I completed my thru-hike of the AT in 2014, and I've just got to say that this is the best documentary of the trail that I've seen so far. You have a great sense of humor. It was so nice to see the trail family stick together until the very end. Congratulations and thank you for allowing us to tag along on your journey.
Thanks, appreciate it!
I just binged watched the whole video in one sitting. Never thought i would enjoy more than an hour youtube video. This was so raw and inspiring!
That was awesome 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Me too. I so enjoyed this
Absolutely fantastic.
Just finished my 3 day hike 32 miles though Michaux Forest in PA. Hats off to you sir
Tennessee girl here:-) saying thanks so much for filming this. What a wonderful documentary! Watched every minute of it.
What a beautiful and inspiring video. Thanks for sharing it with us brother.
Great video and trail hiking. Loved the sites.
God Bless You 🙏
Great job. I live in Maine so the beauty surrounds me daily.
This video length is roughly 2.6 seconds per AT mile; your hiking speed never ceases to amaze......
ive watched this a couple times now, learn somthing new everytime. no other AT hike documentary has so many history lessons about bridges, buildings, towns and everything alike. love it
People with dredlocks are always so arrogant LOL
Thank you for taking us along❤
Thank you so much for letting me accompany you virtually the length of this entire trek. I really enjoyed this feel-good video. GOD bless all of you wonderful people. Much love from Chicago.
Standing ovation! Congratulations on finishing this arduous journey and many thanks for sharing your thoughts and scenery with us flatlanders. Truly an astounding accomplishment and I wish you many more miles of happy wandering!
Thank you Evan, you did an outstanding job hiking the AT and recording your adventure ! Your an amazing person with an awesome attitude. Thank you again and god speed.
Twat you say
Thank you so much for sharing this amazing hike with this 72 year old lady who would have loved to do this at a younger age. It was amazing! (Tears in my eyes.)
Oh I will do this now while I'm in my 20's. Thanks for making me realize.

Awesome adventure Congratulations to you all !
Wow this was so cool to watch an get the whole experience thru everything in every aspect: from the terrain to the rivers ans mountain tops...very exhilarating to catch the moments you went thru. Thanks for sharing your experiences. ❤
Back to see Evan again. Has a lot more meaning in these trying times. Thanks Evan.
You're welcome, thanks for commenting!
Great job creating this. I love it.
Thanks for the nice comment!
I like how u include a little more of the historical info that some others don't mention. Some people may refer to it as the nerdy 🤓 stuff but I think its awesome 👌 such a great AT video 💜💙
Yeah that's the first thing that struck me too. And honestly it kept the video more interesting.
The history lessons were my favorite part!
It’s the only reason I continued watching it after he began rifling through abandoned camps with food & supplies, which are to be reported as most are missing people who have yet to be found. The AT claims approx 100 lives a year that don’t return home from the trails & are missing for years.
This video makes me jealous
I wanna hike this trail
Yep, same here. My dad drove my grandfather to Newfound Gap to see the Roosevelt dedication. on a different subject captured some photo of Catawba Rhododendrons at 22:25 partly due a later start than the March crowd.
Hey that's me just after 5 minutes, glad you enjoyed your trip. Happy we could help, even just a little.
Happy trails,
Wokman.
Hi--thanks for watching and commenting!
Miss Janet is still in Erwin
A nice revisit. I watched your uploads as you posted them, way back when, and saw this. One of my favorite AT thru hike series. Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed them thoroughly.
Thanks, appreciate it!

(Well, I knew this already, but the AT experience confirmed it for me once again.)
If you have specific questions about my hike, please leave a comment and I promise to respond. My email address is in the video description, but please limit the emails to private matters. Thanks to all who followed my hiking adventures on this channel! Thanks!
I had never come across your channel until today so this is the first video of yours I have seen! Thank you, it was quite an adventure.
Brother you're awesome appreciate the video a lot of awesome information I'm very entertaining love the documentary keep up the good work brother
What a wealth of knowledge... my trips in 10 days and love learning all of this prior to my trip🥰
Good luck!

Wow,, what a great journey, enjoyed it very much. Of course you did the walking all I had to do was the watching. And you're from Nashville, I live right down the road in Springfield, thanks for the adventure

Thank you for guys for the trail ride with y'all. It was a good trip. Peace.....
I'm a three time AT end-to-ender, Thru-hiked in 2002. This was fun for me to be taken back, I was a bit surprized by how crowded the trail is. Thank you, Bamboo Bob

Awesome, thanks!!
Congratulations on finishing the AT and for taking us all along! You’re a brave soul and a wonderful artist!
Thank you for this video. My pull to that trail is more than I can express. Congrats
I’d say stay where you are and make noise-it will almost certainly run off.
Thanks for this! It was great watching and following along your path. And oh my, what a lovely happy end! :D

You're welcome -- good luck on the trail!
I am reading your comment 2years later. Were you able to do your hike?
Impressive journey, this was like returning the ring to Mordor, but with less Orcs. Joking aside you hikers deserve a lot of respect, that is one hell of a challenge I think most people could not endure.
🥰 Hands down...BEST video/movie EVER...could NOT stop watching...kinda sad when it was over...what an adventure!! 😋
Thank you.
Hell of a video man. One of the best I’ve seen about the AT out of all that I’ve seen

This was very good! We were with you all the way. Very good pictures, felt like we were right there through the rain, cold and heat. Well done! A good ending.
I’ve watched this 3-4 times. It never gets boring. Thanks for doing this
I have heard of this trail, looks like the trail can be a challenge as is the weather mainly rainy weather.
