Great movie. Thanks a lot. Your presence, with this standard of work and desired mobility, would be very much appreciated 👏 in Northern Poland. Unfortunately, even at authorised workshops they are miles away from your attitude to a Client.
Thanks. I've a few more jobs to do on the car this year which I'll cover in future videos. It's great when you can do some of the jobs yourself. Cheers David.
Hi David. Can you remember how much oil drained from the cooler hoses when Bodsey connected up the machine? And also if the hoses were easy to remove and put back on, leak free, easily. I'm about to do a DIY transmission filter and oil change and I'm wondering if it's worth removing the cooler hoses to allow more oil to drain, even though DIY no vids I've seen do this. Thanks
Great vid again, thanks a lot! I have mentioned under another video of you that I got the same issues, now it looks like we share another one - the leaking transfer case. Let me know if you managed to sort that one out and how it went. I saw them selling sets of seals for it, but I wonder how much of a work that is to change.
Thanks. It maybe a weeping input shaft seal, but needs a closer look. I think it's quite a job, especially without a lift, but I'll look into it and see what's involved and let you know if I'll tackle it myself.
Hi David, I have a 2012 RRS thinking of getting a megaflush done myself. Guy not to far from me does them. Have heard a few saying they can cause issues as the boxes aren't meant to be completely drained of oil and high pressure flushed. So not to sure what to do. I assume your RRS has been running fine since the flush? Great videos by the way.
Hi Steve.I had to think about having a Megaflush done for a while before deciding it was the logical option. The oil is not, as I understand flushed out under high pressure. Once the machine is linked up, the new oil is pumped in as the new oil is pumped out. I think if you look at one point in the video the old dark oil flushes out and at the end the new light coloured oil starts to come out indicating the process is complete. So the box is never empty of oil. I chose this method over draining and putting in new oil as only half'ish of the old oil comes out so you'd have to change the oil quite a few times to get close to a full change. I've not heard that they aren't meant to have all the oil drained, not sure of a valid reason, but as I said above this method doesn't drain the oil at all. I have found the flush to have improved the gear changes and am pleased with the results and would recommend this method. If you haven't seen it yet, there is a guy who knows a lot more about these cars than I do 'Sam's motor and Machine' and he had the same guy Flush his gearbox... worth a look.ua-cam.com/video/FKFVFvyyUR4/v-deo.html Thanks for the comment, should be more videos coming soon...Have a Restricted performance Red warning Triangle occasionally which needs sorting. More on that in the week. Cheers David
@davidbaugh thanks for all the info, you hear so many different things regarding do's and don'ts. Always great to hear from someone that has actually had it done. Think I seen that video as well. There's a guy over in Northern Ireland here that does the mega flush service, seems to have good reviews. So I think it will be the way forward. No issues with the box, but approaching 100k so should be a good preventative measure. Take care, Stevie
You're welcome Stevie. I knew I had to replace the gearbox oil and like you did a bit of research. I tend to steer clear of fb forums to ask questions. I found that the RRsport forum is pretty informative. Good luck with getting your gearbox flushed. PS I've just bought an iCarsoft V3 diagnostic tool, because of the current issue I have, it has a good level of diagnostic functions and service functions, I might do a review after I have used it for a while. All the best David
@@davidbaugh 115k miles is a long distance indeed . Mine started going rough changes and not holding at 85k miles . I did a double flush which gives the system about 65% new oil on dilution . GBP17 a litre for 9 litres ZF Lifeguard 6 . Works well now . Taking off the plastic base is not worth the trouble . The magnets hold the ferrous , the filter the brass and copper . The carbon isn't held by anything . Ineos on order now 🙂
Hi, the total I paid was £455. The price may be different depending on which transmission you have. It's best to contact Ian for an up to date price as it may be different. The link is in the video description.
Disagree.. I researched as to whether a flush would be better than just an oil change and for the reasons given in the video I decided on a transmission flush.

Had my RRS mapped and the EGR deleted. Ian is the best around great guy.
I agree with you, certainly knows the cars well.
What are your thoughts on the remap, has it made much difference?
So with the transmission l noticed u didn't change filter
Price please
Thank You for the video. I've done the rotors/brake, oil change on my 2010 Sport.... next is the front/rear diff oil... so this video is very handy.

From what I remember, the cooler hoses came off without any problem.
Good luck with the job. Love to hear how you get on.

So you never change the filter? At some point you'd think it would be to clogged to work properly, this could lead to a broken transmission
How much roughly for the full oil change R.R.Sport
Depends on which transmission you have, 6 Speed Automatic gearbox Transmission Flush - £295
8 Speed Automatic gearbox Transmission Flush - £340
@@davidbaugh 300 you can do it ez for yourself for like 60-80 euros lol
Oil change yes, but that only changes 50% of the oil. Megaflush changes 95%+ of the oil.
Hi David could you please give me a contact for Ian please ,I would like this procedure full flush many thanks Simon
Hi Simon, here is the link to contact Ian. I believe he has some slots for June. Regards David

Hi, sorry if it's already been mentioned, but what was the cost of such a job?
how much you paid for the oil change for the diffs and gear box mate.

Rubbish... Never flush ur system unless it's been done every 30-50k km miles
A trans flush can ruin ur trans.
