    A new tip that came thru: To make changing the filter cleaner, take a 2 liter bottle and cut the top off so that it looks like a scoop. Than place it under the filter while you unscrew it and both the oil and the filter can cleanly be carried away with no mess!

      Wright Commercial Mowers hey guys nice video I was wondering how can I get a demo?

  • @prostreetgsxr
    @prostreetgsxr 3 місяці тому

    Should do a demonstration on the Stander X since it is the most difficult to service the engine

    Even if your oil is at the low mark, if you mow on steep hills your oil pump may be sucking air not oil. Another reason to have the oil guard system. Even if it's low you are still sucking oil. Even a few seconds without oil can damage the upper bearing. Take heed.

    Can I use Amsoil I in the engines?
    Does it effect the warranty?

    we both like to geek out on this stuff. i just made a video of my oil change and i cut open the filter after 8 hours on my scag with a kawasaki FR651V. how come kawasaki says no break in and scag says 8 hours? also kawasaki says change oil every 100 and filter 200, where as scag says 50 and 100. when do you think is a good time to change to full synthetic? once you reach the 8 hours mark do you think it's FULLY broken in or should one wait till 50 or 100 hours? kawasaki oil is a synthetic blend. and what do you think about full synthetic in the hydros compared to 20w-50? this is for a new liberty z. i've been posting videos, cheers.

      Any engine oil should be serviced after the initial eight or fewer hours to insure that all manufacturing debris possible can be flushed out as soon as possible.
      There are many different frequency intervals recommended lately, if you’re in an exceptionally dusty environment as compared to irrigated turf primarily, your oil will certainly be dirtier faster. Keep an eye on the level and cleanliness and never leave dirty oil in the engine during long term storage. The combustion exhaust can acidify the oil which will lead to bearing damage.

    Ed-I’m quickly approaching the 8hr mark on my new ZK with the 37 hp vanguard. Is changing the oil at 8hrs just for the Kawasaki engine? My dealer told me to change the oil at 100hrs.

    • @WrightMowers
      @WrightMowers  5 років тому +2

      Yes, They changed their recommendation. The 8hr oil change is not required, but I'm sure it will help a little it you refresh it. The BIGGEST factor that will help is to use their oil because it has more anti wear additives than what is regulated in an automotive oil. -Ed

    how do you get the check engine notification to go away after you change it at 8 hours? I changed it at 8 but mowed a couple today and now am at 8.5 and don't really want to void the warranty or anything. my phone doesn't work with the mico chip thingy in it. I probably ought to upgrade phones.

      Micky, press the button once to go to timer 1, twice to timer 2, 3rd timer is the oil reminder. When you are on the 3rd screen, hold down the button until it zeros out. Also, small tip, when you turn the key off it blinks the number of times you have turned it on. -Ed

      Engines are meant to die, eventually.
      Try it someday, it’s satisfying to blow an engine just to prove you can. 😂

    I have a stander I. I'm getting ready to change the oil filter and I went to my nearest mower center and they only had a John Deere oil filter in stock. The salesman said it would work. The John Deere oil filter is slightly shorter though so I was curious if going to get the correct wright oil filter is %100 necessary or it the John Deere one will do the job. Thanks!

    • @WrightMowers
      @WrightMowers  8 років тому +1

      I wouldn't substitute. Some filters are pressure filters and some are not, you have micron differences AND efficiency differences. Some folks will use any filter with the same threads, which is a real gamble considering the value of of your hydro system can be a couple thousand $

    • @mattmglawnlandscape5761

      I wouldn’t use that filter...

    • @bofkaycee1970
      @bofkaycee1970 2 роки тому +1

      If it is the hydro system, then yes, only the factory specified filter. John Deere likely has the same Kawasaki engine in their units but require a smaller length filter to allow for clearances. While the filter may not be specific, it is probable that it would substitute without any issues. However, as Ed said, the actual specified filter IS your best choice.
