Agreed man. Even when an MCU project doesn’t do well or isn’t well received, Kevin Feige NEVER blames the audience or critics for it because he knows that’s not what a top executive should do.
Venom only succeeded because he was a relatively popular stand alone character but all that good will was sucked dry by the lack of quality of all these movies
Agreed. I literally walked out of venom 3 couldn’t stand it. I actually thought Morbius was pretty good and could’ve been a good villain to Spidey someday.

This continues to prove to me that Sony is the WORST filmmaking studio out there right now. With this idiot CEO, and Tom Rothman, the executive in charge of driving Fox Marvel into the ground, now in charge of their film division, they are cooked. Their hits are coming few and far between. They’ve fumbled Ghostbusters, Men in Black, AND Spider-Man outside Marvel.
People laugh at the idea of a boycott of Sony Marvel until they force a sale, but things like this only make me double down. These people do not deserve the IP if they keep acting like this. At least DC has everything under one roof to F up.
That statement alone should have him removed from the position. Those movies are shit and universally panned. The lack of awareness and accountability is mind boggling.
I’m surprised that people haven’t caught on to this years ago… SONY has been out of touch and doesn’t know what’s happening in today’s current movie marketplace.
I agree with that, and by a considerable margin. I thought Kraven was decent, better than Red One but not as good as The Beekeeper. The worst movie of the year was Argylle!
They need to stop making every non-Spider-Man movie with the sole purpose of keeping the rights to Spider-Man. They also need to choose characters that have enough material to actually make a full-length movie, with stories people actually wanna see.
While l haven't seen the third Venom movie the first was mediocre at best and the second was garbage juice just like Madam Web, Morbius and Kraven. The only thing great Sony has done recently is the (animated) Spiderverse movies those are incredible
The bigger picture that everyone is failing to see (Sony, the critics, most of the movie industry, etc.) is that the audience doesn't want to see Spider-Man villains without Spider-Man. And honestly, a lot of them don't really want to see Marvel characters outside of the MCU either. It's long past time to just sell the rights back to Marvel Studios, and maybe retain the rights for animated features or something.

The real issue for Sony is that they think “pluck character a from IP library and make movie” is a strategy. Fire all of the people in charge who have had anything to do with the shit show that’s their cinematic universe. Then hire someone maybe someone with experience from Marvel or he’ll even DC to work with a creative team to look at what characters they have, single out the heroes, pinpoint their villains, and start building stories around those heroes and their villains. Then once you have a script that feels current and not shit we’ve seen recently or in the past, then you start hiring the team in front of and behind the camera. It’s not that hard for them. Ok you’ve got to make a movie to keep the rights. But they can’t actually develop cohesive and enticing projects?
It couldn’t have been the terrible scripts and horrible execution happening during the filming process??😂😂😂 Nah, it was the critics that derailed the success of these magnum opuses. 🤣🤣
