I love it, you are your mothers child. I love that she makes her rub in big batches. We found a BBQ rub we love and I made a half gallon jar of it. I keep a shaker in my cabinet and just refill as needed.

The easiest way to use a mandolin is you have it facing away from from you so you're pushing out to the blade. My nan has one and that's how she's always used it.

Hi Kelli, my Mum passed away a few years ago I miss cooking with her so much. We tried new recipes together a few epic failures but always had so much fun. Like you love watching these 2 lovely ladies cook together.

Mandolin tip: wear a cut resistant glove! I got mine at hardware store for just a few dollars. Gives me so much more confidence and better motion when slicing.

I made a beef wellington for a dinner with some friends, but I'm allergic to mustard, don't like mushrooms, or prosciutto...... so for the " mushroom mixture I used walnuts, and onions, and shallots....for the " mustard " I used a homemade spicy mayonnaise , and bacon instead of the prosciutto....I made a beef gravy to put on top, it turned out absolutely delicious!!

I just lost my grandfather not too long ago. It still feels like it was yesterday to me though. These two videos are my favorite videos on UA-cam so far this year! I love it when you cook with your Mom! My Mom was such a good cook and it was definitely her love language, I miss her a lot. Now, I am the matriarch of my family. We try and have family Sunday dinner as often as we can.My two grandchildren are GF and mostly dairy free so I love seeing what you are cooking up for your kiddos. I also love your Mom's beautiful home! We lived in Portland Ore from 1979 -1987, both of my sons were born there and I miss it everyday but we moved back to Northern NY to be near our families and I don't regret that. This Sundays menu will be an easy one - sloppy joes, macaroni salad ( the kids will not have this) and baked beans. GF brownies for desert! I also love that your Father was a dentist and you became a dental hygienist!
My mum loved to cook and passed this love on to me. She also loved to entertain. Seeing you together makes me think this is what I wold be doing with my mum, hadn’t she passed unexpectedly 18 years ago.

I LOVE hearing your family in the background. I miss having get together with family. My dad died and last year I had to put my mom in an assisted living home so there's no more. Beautiful pond. That would be great to take a cup of coffee and a book out and relax near the water. I really would like to put a small water feature in my front yard. It is nice to go out there and watch the hummingbirds fly in and out of the Mimosa tree when it is in bloom. It gets these gorgeous pink silky fan like things on it and it smells divine. I I want to add fairy lights at some point.
