I truly love seeing you and your mother together. I've lost my mother and watching the two of you cooking and shopping together brings back such wonderful memories of time spent with my mother.
My mom is 80 years old and lives with us and I'm her primary caregiver. Every time I read a comment like this it reaffirms my gratitude that I'm able to serve her by caring for her near the end of her life. Hopefully we still have another decade. But whatever time we have left I don't take for granted. May you find joy in her memories and comfort in your heart.
My mother was an amazing cook - always from scratch and always homemade. I wish I appreciated her homemade bread while in school - unwrapping those big sandwiches was embarrassing to me but a treat for my friends. My mom is gone now. I’d love the opportunity to thank her for her wisdom, grace and culinary skills - maybe she’ll hear me from my little kitchen in MN. ❤️
Your mum is great on camera!! I absolutely love cooking and eating socially. Certain foods bring back such precious memories. I cared for a gentleman who was fed by a tube and the one thing he missed was smelling food being cooked as he lived on his own, so we let him choose the dinner and accompaniments and he got to be part of the process and enjoy the smells at least. We even spent a whole day making different fudge recipes to give away as Xmas gifts to all his nurses, carers and family. He said it was his best day ever!! His favourite was dried soaked peas! His mum cried when we told her because they had had a falling out several years before but it was something she used to make when he was growing up. It healed the wounds and they actually made up - over a simple box of dried peas!!
All mothers should be as beautiful as you are. Mom you are not only beautiful on the outside your spirit on the inside is contagious. Thank you. You are an inspiration!
I was also surprised.I live in Australia too and I do a roast dinner every Sunday with either beef, leg of lamb or leg of pork. I just poke holes in the lamb and stuff cloves of garlic and fresh rosemary into it and smooth oil and salt all over. Delicious. 🇦🇺❤
I'm surprised too I love it im the UK and although it is an expensive meat I've eaten it hundreds of times in my life it's delicious I prefer mine just seasoned with salt and pepper I've never understood why some countries put vast amounts of spices etc lamb has the most gorgeous flavour why mask it xx
Becky, watching your videos brings me such happiness. What you and your family do is what my grandparents and mom did together as I grew up. I got a front row seat and was able to learn so very much from them all that I have applied to my life over the years. Now, due to my health, I can no longer garden and am in a small apartment so canning and food storage is limited. I am used to cooking for large gatherings so always have freezer meals left over and to give away but now have to limit how much, when and what I make. I live vicariously through you and others like your channel so THANK YOU. Hope you had a very Happy Easter.
I love that everyone got in on the gravy making. That shows that you are a family that enjoy being together. Mom's Meater looks like it would be a great addition to kitchen tools. Happy Easter to the Acre family.
Our daughter gave a meater to my husband for his March birthday. He used it for the first time when roasting our Easter turkey yesterday. It worked wonderfully!
A tip for hot cross buns; egg wash the buns before putting the crosses on, make the flour and water paste thicker, you want it just thick enough that it doesnt drip out of the piping bag so that it stands out more on the buns when baked. the egg wash will make the buns brown nicely and glossy on the top. I also add orange zest, nutmeg, cinnamon and allspice to my buns and leave the dried fruit out and it goes so beautifully with some jam, my favourite is plum jam 😋
Becky, I love watching you cook with your beautiful Mother. My mom passed away 2 years ago in Battleground. We used to do Holiday cooking together, as you two do. Today, April 10th, would be her 88th Birthday and watching this, made the memories flow like a river. It is so cool that you are making wonderful memories with your mom! You both can look back on these cooks and enjoy each other over and over again.
I am so impressed at the level of organization that goes into your meals! I had never thought to make a “countdown” sheet and set timers to take away all of the confusion.
Another use for Anchovies. White Bean Bruchetta, in a sauce pan with one or two Anchovies and a TBLS or two to taste partially drained beens good olive oil, 1 small garlic clove grated salt and pepper to taste and frshe chopped sage. Prepare Bruchetta bread as usual. Slowly warm all other ingredients in a pan when it gets hot or starts to bubble turn it off and let it become room temp. Mash beans into a rustic paste sage infuses the beans while it heats and cools. Stir the oil and other ingredients into the partially mashed beans. Garnish bread and mashed bean mixture with a strip of Roasted Red Pepper. If you like add a few grains of red pepper (cayenne). Anchovy and oil freeze if you want to make this at another time. 😊
Becky, I absolutely love when your mom joins you in the kitchen! She needs to start her own channel, I love how organized she is. Enjoy your time together and I hope you all had a Happy Easter ✝️🐣🐇
You and your mom should take a cake decorating course together. I bet there are a few places near y’all where they’re offered. You’d have so much fun and learn some good decorating skills and tips.
Becky you work so hard I just wanted to let you know you have inspired me to plant a garden from seeds this year for the first time in my 61 years and I planted a 4x4 raised bed with only beautiful flowers including straw flowers! My seed shave sprouted and are growing beautifully! I so enjoy your channel.
OMG Becky! I just noticed how close you are to a HALF A MILLION subscribers! Congrats! I don't post often, but I don't think I've missed more than a couple of videos in almost 3 years. I'm so very excited for you. P.S. I love the videos with you and your mom!
Girl, girl girl!!! You're the only one I know that what ever you mess up, its still good. Keep up the great videos. You and your mom are great together.
Was your mom a teacher? She explains things so well and patiently! How fun and special that you both get to enjoy these cooking days and your family enjoys that delicious spread!
Becky, when you are juicing fresh citrus, put the cut side into your palm and squeeze (so upside down from how you held it in this video). The seeds will stay in the citrus, but you'll still get all the juice. Happy Easter!! Thank you so much for your videos. I really enjoy them!!!
Hello Becky and family I truly liked watching you and mum cooking I lost my mum nine years ago please keep your mum close to you as is a precious gem Thank you for sharing your vlog much appreciated by us all xxxx ❤️ ❤
What a joy to watch a mother daughter team work side by side to make delicious and creative dishes which, happily, they share with viewers. It is very inspiring.
@@danapanapooper1441 It truly was you saw all the berries coming through the layers it was just lovely how lucky Becky was to grow up with a Mother that cooked & baked so AMAZINGLY to teach her along the way !
I got distracted by the Grandpa/Grandson snuggles at 30:53. So sweet! I love seeing you all working together as a family to put these beautiful meals together. It does make me miss my family and the craziness that ensues.
Your father and baby A in the background on the couch is the most precious and wholesome picture. Becky PLEASE do yourself and your family the pure gift of experiencing a roast leg of lamb with mint. Just a simple rub of fine dry mint with flour on a very slow (and I do mean slow/over-night) roast of lamb leg. Nothing is better! No cut of any meat could ever compare. Please trust me. The mint sauce made with the drippings is the best thing you will ever taste. I could bet my life on it!
Oh my, I really hope your family comes together and do one of these parties for your mom where she doesn't have to do a thing but be surprised...she is so considerate of all her families needs...would be nice to be catered to by her family
Everything looked WONDERFUL…and that cake!!!!! Oh I’m so glad you let us see it when it was cut….so beautiful!!!! Your mom did a fantastic job in making that masterpiece 💕 You girls worked so very hard, but you also had a mother and daughter day (s) together…the best! I always love spending time with MY daughter. Treasure your times together 💕💕
I love watching you and your mom cooking together just so sweet. Tell her thanks for the tip on the powder sugar in the mixer I will be definitely be doing it ❤
Hi Becky, I hope you and your family are well. I enjoy watching you and your mom cook together. You two look like your having a blast together. Love it!
Tip for frosting a cake, use a piece of non-slip mat (like you find for the bottom of cabinets) under your cardboard round, it will help keep the cake in place while frosting.
You can also spread the butter in the inside of the boneless lamb and it packs a flavor from inside out. Do not worry about anchovies it melts and flavors without a fishy after taste.
I just did a quick read through the comments to see if anyone else had made this recommendation before I bothered but you got it covered sister! 👍 Teamwork makes the dream work! I was also going to suggest that she should have re-used the butchers wrap as I know it’s oven safe but maybe I’ll just save that for another day. Just let her enjoy Easter compliments from all of us, her extended family what do you think? Take care, hope you enjoyed a wonderful celebration with yours Veronica. ❤
Watching from South Carolina. What a wonderful blessing your family is. It was so great to hear the baby while ya'll were in the kitchen. Your dad does a great time each morning on Jesus 365. I love your videos. I love watching your journey on your homestead. But I especially love videos with your mother. Seeing your family is so heartwarming.
Hey Becky! I love watching your videos. It's amazing how many things that you get done in a day! I make cream cheese frosting to decorate cakes and I just substitute butter for the cream cheese that I'm short and it's still delicious
Hi Becky and Susan I have a GREAT rib roast recipe. Preheat the oven to 550*F. Calculate 5 minutes per pound, and cook for that length. Turn the oven off, and keep the oven door CLOSED for 2 hours. (The roast needs to be close to room temp at the start). You can open the oven door at any time after the 2 hour. After that cook and rest time you can serve because the meat has already rested. Good luck! Perfect medium rare. EVERY TIME!!!😊
I was given this exact recipe from a very dear friend of mine Luty Fostin, back in 1982 & she was in her early 90s. Sadly she passed quite a while ago & is still missed today. Thank you for bringing back a wonderful memory for me 🤗🙆♀️💞❣ If you don't mind my asking: Who shared this recipe with you & how long had they known about it? God bless you & yours 🙌. Amen ❣
This is the same recipe I was given and it comes out wonderful every time! I use only copious amounts of coarse ground black pepper, coarse salt and a bit of garlic powder for crust and it’s fantastic. (I serve with au jus from drippings/Worcestershire/beef consommé/rosemary and a side of simple horseradish sauce.)
@@thewhitehorsefarm How awesome, these recipes saved us lots of electricity in the day. Now I use propane for all my cooking & I love it❣🙆♀️ Recipes were meant to be shared & passed down from generation to generation. It's nice to know they're still being shared❣🙆♀️
I love watching Becky and Susan as not only do I appreciate the recipes but I ALWAYS learn things! My Mom died when I was 21 and I wish we could've had this kind of time together; it's beautiful watching the two of you!!
People always ask me what my secret is for making fabulous spagetti sauce and lasagna...I put anchovie paste in it. Ususally about a heaping tablespoon for a large pot.
Illhave to give this a try. I've learned they're soooo good for your body & I've never been a fan of thecsmall fish, but I do want to try it for the health benefits alone & learning that you can't really taste them this way is a bonus for me 🤭🙋♀️💞❣
Try using a block of frozen spanich in your spaghetti sauce, squeeze out excess water, makes a wonderful sauce, I was at a friend's house and her spaghetti was amazing been making ever since. ALOHA from the big island

As an Australian it’s inconceivable to me that you guys have never had a lamb roast!! So so good!! It will become a staple!!
Very expensive!!! Also not available in every day markets. Upscale areas mostly. America is a beef country.

When you squeeze a lemon over food, hold the lemon cut side toward your palm/skin toward food. This keeps lemon seeds from dropping into dish.

Awe, thanks! Yes, I garden, Mark helps me keep it weeded. But I my garden is MUCH smaller! I will adding a Green Stalk this year, a gift from Becky!

That all looks so delicious and must have had the best aroma! Hope your family had a wonderful gathering, that cake looks amazing!

Hi Becky and Susan
I have a GREAT rib roast recipe.
Thank you for bringing back a wonderful memory for me 🤗🙆♀️💞❣
If you don't mind my asking: Who shared this recipe with you & how long had they known about it?
God bless you & yours 🙌. Amen ❣
A chef friend of mine (who worked in the 80’s) gave it to me.
My mother in law told me the same thing. It was mid 1980's.

How awesome, these recipes saved us lots of electricity in the day. Now I use propane for all my cooking & I love it❣🙆♀️
Recipes were meant to be shared & passed down from generation to generation. It's nice to know they're still being shared❣🙆♀️
That looks like a modular mates rectangle with your flower!
Thank you for taking us through to the end! 🙏😍Happy Easter Y’all!
I love watching Becky and Susan as not only do I appreciate the recipes but I ALWAYS learn things! My Mom died when I was 21 and I wish we could've had this kind of time together; it's beautiful watching the two of you!!
Awe, thanks!
Wow,that meal looked very appetising, the cake and hot cross buns look so good, you guys know how to host a party 🎉

People always ask me what my secret is for making fabulous spagetti sauce and lasagna...I put anchovie paste in it. Ususally about a heaping tablespoon for a large pot.
Illhave to give this a try. I've learned they're soooo good for your body & I've never been a fan of thecsmall fish, but I do want to try it for the health benefits alone & learning that you can't really taste them this way is a bonus for me 🤭🙋♀️💞❣
@@robynm7221 yes, you can't taste it but it gives the whole sauce a depth of flavor that's really good.
Try using a block of frozen spanich in your spaghetti sauce, squeeze out excess water, makes a wonderful sauce, I was at a friend's house and her spaghetti was amazing been making ever since. ALOHA from the big island
