So many beautiful and touching things in this episode, eh?! Such a good one :) When Roger pledged his allegiance to Jamie, no, he didn't say anything wrong, he knew exactly what to say... and the look on Jamie's face was surprise. Ha! Jamie, don't underestimate your son in law! Love it! I like watching Lord John out of his comfort zone at that party but, I think, loving every minute of it!
This is, without a doubt, the coziest and lightest episode of the entire series. It's that episode that always lifts the mood. So beautiful 🥺 My comfort episode, perfect to start this strong season.♥️🥰
I always thought that if Frank had been there, he would have been so jealous of Claire and Jamie’s connection. It’s like they read each other’s minds: when he puts on the kilt, before going outside to give his speech , he goes to Claire and without saying a word, he’s asking for her approbation first. Because the look she gives him is about nostalgia of their past living in scotland, and how he’s just as handsome as he was when they first met. But it’s also a look of KNOWING: she knows that what he’s about to do : putting on the kilt, asking for his people’s oaths, all of that is gonna lead to WAR. And they’ve been through enough war as it is. So when she nods at him , it’s to tell him « I know what you’re about to do, and i know you have to do it and even though we hate it, I support you. It’s ok you can go » and he nods back ( like he had to have her approval since it’s THEIR lives that are going to be affected) So, yeah, what a conversation that happened in just ONE LOOK…
I'm so happy you're kicking off season 5 and I'm reminiscing on one of my favorite seasons. One of the most beautiful beginnings of the season, if not the most beautiful of Outlander. it is simply spectacular. I got emotional again in Brianna's scenes with her parents before the wedding. beautiful wedding too. Jamie and Claire remembering their own wedding ceremony with the scenes going by it's impossible not to see their love and not get emotional too. we see more moments this and next season of Jamie and Claire being grandparents, especially Jamie I'm always dying of love in these moments. looking forward for you to see the Fraser's together as a family This beginning was very peaceful and full of love but it has its warnings of what the characters are going to do this season as Bonnett is out there causing and he will always be a threat looming over everyone but Brianna in particular obviously. Jamie also having to pay for what the crown gave him. thus directly linking with the drama that is Jamie and Murtagh's being this time on different sides of the battle and what that did to their relationship. Seeing Jamie wearing his kilt again is so nostalgic and exciting. as well as seeing him again taking the leadership role that comes so naturally to him. I have to talk about Claire having her own office now, practicing her profession and so we can see her as a surgery. I like that a lot. It needs to be talked about and praised for the level of production it had this season. Not that it was bad before, far from it, but it's cinematic. Happy to start another season with you Evie
The head nods at the nuptials were a fun part. As was "Ya, put the kilt back on!" Only to lead into the fears of "ton of bricks" (Bonnett) and tears of "Go. And be hard to find."
I'm so excited you're on S5. This is my favorite season (S1 a very close second). Really looking forward to this journey with you. I know you're actually ahead of what you have uploaded to UA-cam so don't know if you've finished S5. If you haven't, make sure you let the credits play at the end of episode 12. It has the most hauntingly beautiful version of The Skye Boat Song. If you have finished and didn't play it, you should go back and listen. BTW, absolutely LOVE the green nail polish!

I’m not sure if the « something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue » is a tradition in this time. Maybe Brianna just told Jamie about it and he decided to participate lol when he comes into the room with the stuff, she says « you remembered »…

This is one my favorite seasons, its tense, dramatic and still had some great family moments.
