In this video I will show you how to remove all parts in order to replace wheel bearing, wheel hub and wheel speed sensor/abs sensor ring.
This is a step by step detailed guide and should help even those without beginners skills.
I am working on my Renault Trafic 1.9dci f9q van.
The procedure is the same for Vauxhall vivaro Opel vivaro and Nissan Primastar both the 1.9dci and the 2.0cdti engines.

12:30 It is better to unscrew this nut later, when you unscrew the steering knuckle from the shock absorber, then you tilt the steering knuckle towards you and slide out the axle shaft. Then you approach it from above with an impact wrench, and you can knock out the ball pin with a hammer from above or with an impact hammer. It goes faster and smoother. As for the half axle, if it doesn't want to come out of the bearing in the hub, you can use an SDSMAX hammer drill (the plus one has too small an impact) and insert a spike into the hole in the half axle. The most stuck axle shaft comes out as if it was greased and you will not damage the thread under the nut. Yes, I have been looking to buy my own press as this is the only tool I need often and don't have. The prices have doubled so I am actually considering building my own. Thanks for your comment and for watching my video
Great video , amazing how you manage to get that bearing off by just hammering the socket to it , I went away and bought and 12 tonne press , no way it was coming out otherwise

Can you change the abs securing ring without having to remove the wheel bearing? My wheel bearing is ok on my van it's just the abs holder that is corroded
@@vauny24 it was same in my case . Sadly you have to take the bearing out🤝🏻
@@TheKeenMechanic Bit of a crap design most abs sensors are secured with a 10mm small bolt, my abs light came on and I turned the steering wheel to full lock got under the van to find the abs sensor hanging the securing locator has totally corroded away. Think I might try get hold of a new wheel bearing knuckle with everything already installed be less of a ball ache and a straight swap.
Have you ever replaced the lower steering wrack shaft nuckle, just wondering has my steering has slight play, still after swooping out the inner and outer tie rods with new ones, just wondering if the flexible joint on the steering wrack lower joint nuckle could be the problem
@vauny24 Very poor design indeed. I have worked on many vehicles over the years and this is by far the worst design I have come across. Never had to do anything on my steering or rack as they are tight. I replaced both inner and outer rod ends though. Get new bearings, take the hub off and bring to someone with a press to fit it in for you. Best and cheapest option

There is nothing to it. Just make sure to insert it before you install the bearing 🤝

@@garyharvey7905Great van and easy on fuel too. I used to use it as a daily too but at the moment it is up on the lift for a full restoration. I have done the front axle, next job is rear axle💪

It's not cast iron it's forged iron or steel. If it was cast it would crack
