@ravinodyab7725 I have no problem with any arrangement that grown adults decide to knowingly agree to. Cheating isn't about the physical act, it's about the betrayal.
Did you watch the whole movie or just these cliff notes recaps? Her father is played by the late, great Robert Forster and I thought he was excellent in the role….the scene where he punches Sid is a lot more complex than this makes it sound…his wife obviously has a degenerative cognitive condition like dementia or Alzheimer’s and is VERY confused and out of it and Sid laughs at her when she says something strange, loudly and loudly obviously making fun of her confused state of mind and that’s when Forster punches him…it is most definitely well deserved.
@@J.R.in_WV I've only seen this recap and not the whole movie. Do her parents find out that their daughter was unfaithful? I would imagine that would have changed their attitude towards Matt a little bit...
Damn this "dad was so busy with work not to notice" is so real life shit. Dad is working his ass off to pay for everything they want, but still not enough. My friend divorced with his lazy ass wife who didn't work a single day and cheated
Exactly. A man gets no credit or thanks for working his butt off for his family. It's expected and a requirement that we do that, but we can't get any loyalty from the s/o because then they feel lonely.
The message of this film never gets old. It's important to take care of your family life and not neglect them by taking them for granted. Otherwise, you will lose them before you know it. When you respect what you have and how far you've come, you learn the true meaning of what's really important: family.
I cheated because I was bored, because my husband was busy working so hard to give me this great life and lots of money.. Now, if you needed him home more.. DID YOU EVER TELL HIM?? Seems like 99% of the time.. the gal who CHEATS.. never tells the Husband so can can do something to PREVENT IT prior.. thus it's a BS excuse.
This is so sad. I feel for the daughter to know what her mother did and carrying that burden to not hurt her father. It would also hurt knowing his wife’s friends knew of the affair. So when they saw him they talked about it behind his back. Then to deal with his father in-law who was so focused about the money and indirectly showed how his wife probably resented her husband for not spending morning of his money on her which probably led to the affair. Then the reality was the wife’s affair would have cost her everything and would have lost her family since the man she was having an affair with didn’t love her and probably only cared about the commission from the sale of the land. Then to have the pressure of his cousins to sell their land now, but since he was good with money was probably the reason he was put in charge of the trust.
Do you know why people like movies? Because that doesn't happen in reality. In films, cheaters always get a happy ending, a survival ending, at least they can escape responsibility. That doesn't happen in reality. 🙏🏻
This movie was all over the place. Even in death she leaves a mess which he has to clean up. The fact everyone forgives this cheater is sickening. Why does he waste time with the AP? Once he finds out who he is, look him up online, and email his wife. Why does the AP's wife forgive her or even show up at the hospital? Why is it ok for the AP because he didn't love her? What kind of lesson is this to the kids?
I saw this movie, The Descendants, when it came out years ago. An excellent movie. I remember Matthew punching Brian and it was very satisfying. I think you should have included that.
Love the lack of tone errors in AI narration. For example at @3:30 “The doctor reminds him that Elizabeth has a big life.” But the movie was enjoyable.
The casting in this movie is just excellent….Robert Forster, Beau Bridges, Judy Greer, Clooney (of course)….they’re all just excellent in this. This synopsis really doesn’t do the movie justice, and I highly recommend watching the whole thing.
Makes you wonder the decisions that people make put them in their final place in life. If she was more focused on her relationship with her husband, would you have died at that time.
1:01 OMG This is part of what’s wrong w/this world, someone is being mean to your kid you don’t call forcing an apology otherwise you’ll tell! 1:12 only for the mum to not be satisfied! If only the mum realized she was contributing to her daughter was getting bullied and instead of helping her daughter, she demands an apology because that’s how the world works!
Nice Movie indeed.... How I wish all Cheaters will end up like this.... Especially them present day fems that you worked hard to take care of and at the same time they will cheat for one meaningless flimsy reason... Nice one... The man and the daughter deserve a better life outside her... Just that Brian got a safe net.. think is only saving grace (probably) is that he was committed to his wife and probably was hooked by the Cheater wife Elizabeth of which he confessed he didn't love her... But wish he got his own PoF too... Best Cheaters Ending Movie....
😅 We must a didn't watch the same movie.Cheaters are bad but F00l in a marriage and you think it's okay to ignore your wife & kids for YEARS like this Man did then don't be surprised when it doesn't work out.😅 😅DONT act surprised 😅
There is a such thing as a divorce. If your spouse is ignoring you, you don't have to stay. What people here are talking about is revenge. You have sex just to make the other person feel bad. That's not a good idea, unless they are cheating too. You might find someone who believes that whole "death do us part" stuff. The only part of the movie that was bad, was that she didn't wake up for a few minutes so he could cuss her out.
@@bobbierobinson6269 you don't divorce for flimsy reason... That's not what the author of Marriage and the Creator of Marriage told us or advocate for us.... Everyone has issues in life and it's our duty to be there for them. The man went through a phase of life trying to fix something or get something from life. Is her least duty to be there for him as long as it might take a d ask for God's help. They had children, so which means it wasn't like this from the beginning. There have been cosy and doing all cosy stuff since. This was a phase of life. Even the kids weren't happy with their Dad's absent but what they where angry more especially the first daughter was that He the father, was so absent minded and oblivious of the wife's cheating. To see how much it affected the children. I mean her action. Every child enjoyed and love seeing the Parents together (in loving relationship) so it's our duty to sacrifice and maintain that for the children's own sanity sake even if it means we must go through somethings and trial ourselves. That's it. After all, the husband later realised his mistake and turned around for good (which is like I said, was just a phase of moment in life) but then, the wife waywardness and foolishness didn't allow her to stay and experience all that and enjoy it. Marriage union isn't boyfriend and girlfriend where you think everyday and everything will be about you and your feelings or things will be always cusy cosy.... There will be serious time of tumult and chaos and that's when you place you feet on the ground and stand firm though the storm. Which will definitely be over after a period and everything will be restored. That's what the Originated of Marriage told us from the get go...
Movies where the wife is cheating always have a way of still making her out to be a victim somehow. They never have movies like that when a man cheats. Yeah she died, but never had to atone for her affair. Just once would I like to see a movie where a dude gets his revenge and in the end the woman just completely loses out. But Hollywood would never do that because female viewers would have a shit fit.
