I went to school with Lenny. We were in the same band at Santa Monica high school, Lenny was always a fine chap, well dressed, and well-behaved..
Which instrument did he play? He´s been also in the marching band right?
@@Chrisopsful I believe so, yes. I think he played french horn...
Amazing !
I thought he was Jimi Hendrix
Was he cool then?
Lenny’s band never gets enough credit. Uncle Phil on drums and Howard Stern on lead guitar. Always solid
And don’t forget there’s also t he love child of Seal and that girl from Skunk Anansie on the Bass
dude I cant stop laughing. That is so funny...
🤣🤣🤣
that comment made my night as im gettig yelled at by my GF for being too load with my closed back ear phones at 3am.. Rock on. FML. lol
@@hookedfz1 the same but it's my hubby & adult children telling me to "KEEP IT DOWN"" in your dreams....NEVER
That guitar riff is one of the best ever created.
Yes lord
It comes from Muddy Waters... Hendrix used it in voodoo Child.... and then Lenny.
@@alejandroangeles8587 I do not see the conection.
@ It's a fact. Listen "Rolling stone" by Muddy Waters. Hendrix used that lick in Voodoo Child (Slight return). Lenny used both.
Search in UA-cam a Channel called guitar pilgrim. Check in that channel "3 amazing guitar moments from Lenny Kravitz".
@ I'm not saying it's plagiarism.
I also love this riff.
I've never seen a drummer look more effortless. We call that style in a mumu. Justified.
54 years old and still showing them how it’s done. Wish I’d been there. Love love love!
54 года - это много?
Mik Jagger and Keith Richards 80 years old
Rock and Roll is state of mind !!!!
@@deniskostic1502 Mick's jaw is about to fall on the stage lol
2:09 that old guy is RAD! look at him go!!
Old person is young at heart and nothing wrong with that Music is for everyone any colour, age or beliefs you hold. Great to see everyone glad to be alive
did I say there's something wrong with that??
Grey power!
Nobody said there's anything wrong with it Chris.. quite the contrary!
Crazy-Heart he look halfway dead
if you understand that, you understand rock

As phenomenal as Lenny is - and he is - that band is spotless. His drummer is ridiculously gifted. Damn, so good.
The same with bowie and many others it's the band that is brilliant, but it's lenny, so the band is going to be the best of the best
Hey, at 2:10, when you see an elderly man dancing and enjoying the song, then this must be a freaking excellent song!!👍👍👍
lol that dude was jammin
@@PolPotsPieHole I’ll be doing same thing too🙌
That's rock n roll, fuck yeah old man! 🤟
Of curse it is
this is an old jam...1993
BBC has outdone themselves with the coverage of all their great summer music festivals. Superb talent booking, production, and distribution of content for people around the world to see how good it is in the UK for music.
you can definitely hear a difference in a/v production quality to previous festival seasons and even concert broadcasts from other media companies. this is pretty superb.
ANYONE KNOW WHERE i CAN SEE THIS IN ITS ENTIRETY???
iplayer
Can we just for a moment
Give some recognition to the drummer
Spectacular performance 🤘🏼🎸✨💞
He is good but Cynthia was more blunt!!
That drummer is killing it! My favorite Lenny Kravitz song. I swear he belongs in the 70s. No wonder he did the Zeppelin tribute. Aside from Heart, it suited him well. Rock on Lenny!
It would've exploded the rock music scene back the 70's if he had played then.
He plays in gnr now
Lenny is the definition of COOL
yess handsome , sexy and taletend, he is a lucky guy :)
Not sure being a combination of retro pastiche rock and vintage clothes store staples is that cool. I've always found Lenny all a bit cliched.
Yeah,
Look up "cool bastard" in the dictionary, and there's a picture of Lenny Kravitz opposite. Enough said.
+Norfolk Enchants - Well, you're wrong. He one of the coolest. Show us how _YOU_ pull cool off.
Norfolk Enchants You are correct sir, a very poor Hendrix tribute act with one decent song.
Wow! The mighty mighty Gail Ann Dorsey on bass!
The best female bass player I ever seen
@@Editorvid Check out Rhonda Smith, Prince's bass player with the new power generation, she's great!
What string flatwounds is she playing...they look heavy af
@@Editorvid Check out Tal Wikenfeldt
CJ Meiko ☆☆☆😆😆 They sure do CJ....but they sound hella!!
Peace and love.🎶🎶🎶
Gail Ann Dorsey is a monster on that bass. Great live performance.
Gail Ann always winds up on the coolest stages with the coolest performers…..and the crowd eats it up!! Love it.
Not so long after David Bowie died.
She is playing it pretty close, if not exactly, to studio recording.
One of those quintessential 90's songs that was destined to be a classic.
2:09 "Cool Lenny, you've made me young again. Let's Rock n Roll!"
I always come back to this song as being one of my favorites. Lenny, I felt never got enough credit as a artist and musician. This song is top notch with one of the "funkiest and catchiest" riffs on a guitar. And how they bring it together in the intro with two different chords with the drum kick is amazing. Keep rocking Lenny!
Hes a 1 hit wonder. The rest of his songs are sorta trash.
The Drummer Was On Fire 🔥🔥🔥
Lenny n his band are amazing. Polished.
People need to realize how important listening to and singing to music is for us. This is awesome. People are having fun and forgetting their problems. Rock on Hyde Park.......Lenny rocks big time.
His band is soooooo tiiiiiiiight!!! Like last years jeans after quarintine!
This performance is still freakin' FIRE!!!!! 💯❤💪🏽 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Craig Ross is an absolute animal on that guitar.
One of The best songs ever
An absolute timeless Classic!! 🔥💯🤘🏼
I still maintain that is one of the greatest solos of all time.
Hiya sweetie today is 21st/4/23 Prince passed away but he is still alive in music 💜 luv ya Lenny Kravitz you are very prince sweetie PS God bless ya Lenny Kravitz 💜😇🕯️🕯️
He is just incredible!! A tremendous talent along with his fantastic band members ! And this song ??.... Just jamming BIG time !!!!! Go Lenny!!!!
Such an underrated guitar solo. Craig Ross=the man.
Whoever musicalized this song deserves the upmost absolute respect, same goes for the band and the sound technicians behind everything. A lot of talent there.
One of the best Rock stars to play live. His energy and passion is awesome. I’ve seen him quite a few times perform. Just a blast to be apart of it.
I love the classic rock sound Lenny creates!
We all know Lenny's a whole ass legend out here 💯 But SHOUT OUT to Craig Ross, man. He's been out front lead guitarin' and looking like a straight badass with Lenny for almost 30 years 🏆👊🏽
This is such a simple sounding song and catchy. This what you call music.
Supertamp
Everybody waiting for this part 2:33 killed it..right on point🤙🏾
Incredible!! He looks like 26 and plays with so much energy!! Fantastic drummer, Gail Ann Dorsey on bass and rhythm guitarist!🎸🎸😎
Legend riff speaks itself
What a great song. And riff. And solo.
Written by the lead guitarist. Clever lad.
@ElementZ Z O no se ese yryyyyyyy
The balance of harmonics, tempo and bad ass is 😂phenomenal. Lenny is a phenomenal musician and I believe one of the best ever
The bassist is the hero of this film, ladies and gentlemen. Listen to her grooooooooooove! Wow!
Ellen ann dorsey- she played with bowie anf many others.
@@patrickr12342thought I kind of recognise her from many Bowie gigs
Uncle Phil rocking it on the drums

THAT's what I call true rock'n'roll. love it!
Lenny Kravitz does not age OMG spend decades and he is still so young
I saw Lenny in 92 open up for The Cult. He was so AMAZING live. To this day he is still the best opening act I have ever saw. TOTALLY REAL ROCK STAR

Lenny's voice still sounds great
I didn’t realize how good the bass was in this song. Nice.
That drummer is going HARD
What a beast!
Mixing on this is top notch and the band is top of the game.
Only one word you can say awesome
Why would I walk away from true LOVE, why would anyone? it's like walking away from the place where I am able to breathe. 🦋🌹🦋🇬🇧🦋

Drummer dude is a beast.
No disrespect to the former drummer, but this beast of a drummer brings the energy of this song to a whole new level.
Respect.
Coolest man on the planet. So talented! Oh, and that energy!! Just awesome.😎🎶🎸
I remember hearing this song for the first time at a party and thought it was a cool 70s song that I missed out on, but then I soon learned it was Lenny. Bad ass song.🔥🤘🏽Great rock sound!
I was first introduced to Lenny Kravitz when he opened up for David Bowie at the LA Dodgers Stadium. He is an outstanding performer. He was this close 🤏 to blowing Bowie away on stage and for someone who loves and adores David Bowie, that's pretty high up in my book! He was f*cking awesome! ✌❤😊🙏
One of the few black rocker. One of the best
The whole lot of them are bang on perfect, LK (4 me) Is THE coolest dude on the rock scene!
Craig Ross plays that solo the same way every time, and I LOVE it.
Just like the record.
What a band he's got!
So great scene all these happy faces of all ages smiling & jumping! 😍 This song will always go beyond generations. One of those that will live as long as humanity exists.
Wow. Beautiful!
OMG, face melted off and my gut has been busted watching this soulfully talented band!
Oh God bless you that was a great performance😉😉
Lenny doesn't age!!! He looks exactly the same now as he did 20 years ago!!
Lenny , many many people for you ! You are loved by everyone in all world ! I love you Lenny ! Hello from Italy! 🖐👏👏👏👏🎸🎤🎶🎵🎶🎵😉😙😊🤗❤💕

Maaan! This song reminds me alot of the 90’s and the parties 😁 crazy time back then
Always loved this guitar solo, not particularly difficult, it’s the groove of it and it sounds so cool to me
I love the oldman jumping. Cool dude
👌 awesome sound quality from the BBC as is to be expected and an epic performance from Lenny
🇬🇧 Loves you... I love you and appreciate your vibe.. Thank you so much for spreading The JOY OF LOVE. 🦋 👑🦋💕
Now that’s a riff!
I just love this man. His music and his soul is beautiful. ❤️
tara james he is a legend I'm heaps dirty he cancelled his tour to Sydney this year i hope he comes out next year he sounds so good live
That bass sounds fantastic!!
Gail rocks my world. I’m in Philly any time you wanna come home? ♥️🎼
love the energy!
A Legend that still walks the earth 🙏
Awesome make me feel alive
A greatest aetist with a big band
Dont know the musical terms but I have always loved the unusual guitar rhythm of this song...just brilliant. In the comments here, someone compares him to Hendrix...oh, yes, Lenny has that same different guitar rhythm that Hendrix had. But, fortunately for us, he is still here making his great music. I've always loved Hendrix...he was my generation but Lenny is just as great because he's still with us making his great music and damn he looks good!
最高です!レニー!
観客のおじいちゃん、おばあちゃんがノリノリなのもかっこいいなぁ・・・
憧れる
Racja bracie!
This song will always be fire...
The bass comes in! Holy shit!
Como sempre maravilhoso e impecável 👍🏾❤️🤞🏾
2:07. Some of us refuse to grow old! Freakin love it!!!
Never grow old. You become boring!
Thanks BBC Music for the good camera angle. Always nice to see!
The drive of that rhythm section is goosebump stuff!!!!
that woman's bass work is so underrated
I love this song. Sounds like something Hendrix would’ve done
Exactly the " but what i really wanna know is.." is typical hendrix mimic but the riff is just classic hard rock/rock
Sounds more like Zeppelin to me.
Don't hear any Hendrix here
Well they’re your ears but many of us do.
