I'm interested to know whether you expect the exhaust porting to increase the efficiency (mpg or l/100 km) of the engine. what do you think? Also, thinking ahead to increasingly CO2-neutral energy sources for cars, had you considered methanol? My analysis tells me that a combination of using cars much less than at present and applying synthetic fuels (e-fuels / power-to-X etc. etc.) will be less damaging to the environment than the battery-electric-vehicle economy -- I mean when we consider the whole energy and material chain. I admire your DIY skills and enthusiasm! By the way, for your health, you should wear a dust mask when milling metal. All the best, and keep up the good work!

PS. I wonder whether the following method for judging laminarity of airflow would be better: placing the exhaust valve in the valve guide, raising it to the maximum exhaust cycle lift and then connecting your air blower so that you are blowing air past the valve and into the port: that's a more realistic scenario.
