- The iconic Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race is an annual long-distance sled dog race that brings in competitors from all around the world and this year, Royal Oak’s very own Dane Baker is participating for the very first time. Baker graduated from Royal Oak High School in 2018 and with time, found his love of dog mushing in what has now become his passion.
I watched all the doggies had boots and coats. Michigan man made then a rest area every night, and they all seem extremely happy. I'm rooting for them!
Hey ahhh why no mention of the female from Farmington hills? That’s in the race Samantha Lalonde
Good luck Michigan man 😊
Please understand that this is a dangerous and torturous journey for the dogs. Animal rights organizations expose the horrendous treatment by some to drive the dogs the 1,000 miles in grueling conditions. I wish him well, but I pray for all the dogs involved that are not treated humanely and suffer.🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I am outraged! It is unbelievable how the Authorities allow this cruelty for so long. Please, everybody, open your eyes and help stop this nonsense... oh the dogs look so happy, they cant wait to run...really? Oh they rest, we give them snacks, they get checked by vets and at the end they get a warm hug from the proud owner that won a prize for abusing these animals. Granted, they like to run free but not tied to a harness and under extreme temperatures. I invite everyone to watch online this video: See the horrors dogs face after they finish the grueling Iditarod race".
Animal Cruelty..Should be banned. Im discusted they are cruel and even abandon their dogs!!
Find something better to do! Please!
