    Good morning,
    Today is the 1st day I watched your channel.
    I must say it was very enjoyable.
    I am from from Michigan also.
    I live in South West Michigan next to the lake.
    I am also the fourth generation on one part of our farms..
    It is really good to see a family enjoying the farm life working together.
    Thank you for sharing your story.

      I am sure where you live in Michigan but are you as dry as we are here in Southwest Michigan?
      I only average 17 bales an acre off my first cutting.

      @@jimcox6687 we are in the thumb and it was super dry too. We did ok, but could have definitely had more bales to the acre. It’s just grass hay, not alfalfa, so we are hoping to get some good rain for a 2nd cutting.

    Just came across your channel today. I enjoyed the video. I grew up in Munger about 35 miles west of you. My grandpa was a potato farmer there and my other grandpa had horses in St. Charles. Even though I’m not on the farm, I still enjoy getting my hands dirty every now and then. Thanks for sharing.

    You are true about saying not everyone handles hay the same way....... We Round bale Everything.... haul and store, and convert rounds into small squares to supply TSC stores in our area.......Our Hay Season is From Jan 1st to Dec 31st every year..... 24/7/365

    • @BruceFarmsInc.
      @BruceFarmsInc.  Рік тому

      That’s awesome! What state are you in? We sell squares so we too handle it all the time, but last year we were sold out in December so we had a couple of months where we were only handling it to feed it to our animals.

      @@BruceFarmsInc. Sometimes Sunny South Carolina. Our Story is Unique in that 10 years ago. My Son Restarted the little Family Farm that Had Lain Idle or over 30 years.... Row Cropped Cotton then Added Peanuts....Then By Chance we were Renting some Land, and were Offered the Hay Land by the owner.... Long story short ====After A few years we were offered a chance to purchase a complete Rebaling system... supplying 2 TSC stores with trailer loads of small squares..... This is our 7th season..... We now have 6 TSC stores Plus some independants.......Everything connected with Row crops is Gone......I have some so called videos that tell the story ........ No subscription necessary.... thanks for responding.

    From the time you plant, to the time you are bailing. Taking into consideration rainfall. How long is it? Is hay fast growing?

    • @BruceFarmsInc.
      @BruceFarmsInc.  Рік тому

      What we are taking off here isn’t new seeding. We fertilized it in April and it’s mid - late June and we are taking it off. It just depends on rain and weather as to how early we take 1st cutting off. If we get good rain, we will get a 2nd cutting, maybe a 3rd.
