I survived ovarian cancer. I also felt much better after shaving my head.
My friends bought me a very expensive wig, and I did not wear it.
It is very important that everyone leave at least 1cm in length. So not shave it all off. You will need to use a lint roller to take the hair out. If you shave it off completely, you can get infections in your hair follicles. Please! Please leave approximately 1cm.
It will save you a lot of pain and upset.

I get every word you are saying. I had the handful of hair coming out, eventually all of it came out. I was always such a hair person. One of my best features. To loose it was devastating. Thinking that was the worst but wigs helped a lot and beanies. Then came the eyebrows and lashes. Now that is something I can’t cover. Loosing my lashes is worse than the hair. What a blessing you have in your arms! Your son is adorable!

THANK YOU FOR SHARING ALL THE PHOTOS it is so encouraging as i will be honest I don't think I have the tenacity to do cold caps (the pain) for just a possibility it will help...so truly leaning toward just shaving my head

Thank you for the wonderful video. I too shaved mine off rather than see it fall out slowly. I felt empowered to just get it over with.
Was your hair always curly? Or are those chemo curls they talk about?
For myself I feel less feminine without out my hair,,but have bought a whole new line of makeup and some pretty headscarves and try to pamper myself and give my self permission to feel this way. I know it wont last forever. It was hard for me to allow my husband to see me bald . But we have both embraced it,,it is really just hair. But that covering was given to us for beauty.
God bless you for sharing your story,,it helps me so much in my journey,,praying you are cancer free❤

Yes! It was absolutely empowering. My hair was wavy prior. Definitely not this curly!
I'm so happy to hear you embraced the bald and learn to accept this part of the process.
Thank you so much for watching and appreciating. Sending the love and cancer free vibes right back to you 🫶

Hey Lauren, thank you for sharing your journey! Did your hair grow fuzzy when it first started growing back and if so, did you cut/shave the fuzz at any point? Or did you just let it grow without intervention? My hair started growing back and it's very fine peach fuzz. I feel like most people shave their fuzz, they say it grows back faster/thicker/fuller. I kind of love my fuzz but I don't want to be at a disatvantage later just because I didn't want to shave it. Wish you a great day 😊

It did start to grow fuzzy! It felt so soft. I just let it grow! I didn't cut my hair until over a year later for just a little trim. I don't regret that at all! Wishing you the best luck 🫶 thank you for reaching out!

Thank you for sharing these details. I feel I will be like you and will shave it off before the clumps get too big. I know it was a bit ago but do you know the wigs you bought on amazon? I'd love to see workable options

I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in late January this year.
I’ve just had my 2nd of 6 chemo treatments.
You articulated my exact emotions around my hair loss.
I was just spending SO much time thinking about it !!!!
So I buzzed it 10 days after my 1st treatment, and the relief was IMMEDIATE & massive.
I enjoyed about 4 days of that look, then it all just started to come out.
I’m not enjoying being bald at all though.
You are so right that you really feel like a cancer patient with no hair.
I have a feeling that I’ll probs keep a short buzz cut once this is all over.
Life was so easy for those few days.
Glad you are happy and healthy.
Lots of 💖 from Australia 🇦🇺

Hi. Do you have more of the description of the wording on the amazon wig? I have been wearing amazon wigs during and after my chemo but can only find black hats or ugly hats. Thanks for your video.😇

Thank you so much for having the courage to share your hair journey story. I’m in the process of growing my own hair back after chemo. I totally understand what you mean about shaving and taking control of the situation opposed to allow it to just fall out on its own. Shaving my hair gave me a sense of control in a situation that I had very little control. and I was totally OK with my bald head afterwards.
Big sub 👍🏾 from this survivor! God Bless! 🙏🏾
