    After viewing the video it seems that a common thread for hair loss (ccca) is diet, stress and inflammation. All of these are huge factors for me;
    I’ve decreased my sugar consumption, eat more plant-based foods, and take supplements. I recently shaved my head, and decided to maintain a very low haircut in order to concentrate on my scalp.. My goal is overall good health. I enjoyed this helpful video. Wishing Jessica and others success in meeting their goals. Thanks for sharing.

    I just ran across your channel and have watched a few of your videos. This video is on point, miss Karen! I have been natural after doing the big chop in 2019. Menopause and gray, thinning hair hit me right along with fine lines and poor skin health. It took me some years to figure out what you are talking about in this video. I have been eating mostly plant-based foods, increased my water intake, decreased sugars and processed foods. My hair is finally growing. I am also incorporating exercise in my new lifestyle. THANK YOU for being so informative! I’m Thinking about purchasing your growth serum. Not gonna lie, I’m not looking forward to paying so much on yet another hair product. I may be persuaded after watching more videos. I’ve never heard of a trichologist until now. Time to do some research! Your tips are wonderful and helpful.

    Just an update on my hair. I watched this video 7 months ago. I'm Auntie sent it to me. I went to the dermatologist and got a diagnosis. I found a trichologist in Philly. She's been a trichologist since 2001. My hair is growning back in the crown of my head and sides. The rest of my hair is growing in longer. She cut about 3-4 inches of my hair when I 1st started coming, b/ it was so damaged. It's pretty much back. She said I may not get all of my hair back, but it will fill in. I've had the hair loss since 2012. It's 2024 now. My main hairstyles is twist coming forward to make sure I'm not putting tension on my problem areas. Now that my hair is stronger, she adds a little hair for length for certain twist styles. No more WIGS 🥳 I'm sure in a year or so, i will stop adding hair, b/ my real hair will be long enough to my liking.
    If you are doing crochet, please stop. The chemicals they use for crochet hair is also causing hair loss in black women. I already had baldness and crochet made it worst. It's not a protective style for everyone.
    Yes, it's costing me a lot of money to get my hair back, but it is worth every penny 🤗 Mrs. Pearl is a Christian too. It's so nice having a hairstylist pray for you and encourage you ✝️❤️ God bless you all and I pray you get your hair back 👑

I am not sure what type or alopecia that I have but believe it came from pulling my hair into the afro drawstring ponytail. When I look at my breakage; its right in the center where that afro ponytail was placed. I also have eczema going on at the same time.

    One thing that needs to be realized is that we live in a dualistic reality !
    Having said that there is nothing impossible !
    For impossibility to exist possibility must also exist (polarity) so there is nothing that can't be done because can't dose not exist without can !
    So one just has to become aware of possibility to see how things may be possible instead of impossible !
    If one had hair and lost it then it must also be able to grow back and there are countless ways of that happening you just have to ask yourself how and stay focused on finding the how instead of the how not and be specific on the question because that's how specific the response will be !
    Example - how can I grow my hair back is far more vague then how can I grow my hair back naturally and quickly !
    That's where meditation comes in , it quiets the mind to be able to consciously become aware of information showing yourself the way !
    Meditation also heals the body and reduces stress which are also factors for hair loss in men and women !

      Hi Nikki! I"m not pro or against steroid injections. Some people get them while others do not. They work for some and not for others. However, they can be painful, costly, and have some not so good side effects. I typically recommend taking a more natural or holistic approach to reduce inflammation -- B vitamins such as a B3, B5, along with oregano are anti-inflammatory. Applying topical anti-inflammatory products such as sweet almond and olive oil. I even have Curl House Follicle Stimulating Growth which are a blend of botanicals (water based) that help to reduce inflammation as well. Definitely consume omega3 fatty acids -- very very anti inflammatory. So these are a few suggestions. These are some of the things I will teach in my Health and Hairness program launching in Spring. Not sure if I talked about it on this video, but I have a waitllist you can join for more info. But its always best to take a holistic approach, whether you decide to incorporate steroid injections or not.

    • @KarenofCurlHouse
      @KarenofCurlHouse  2 роки тому +2

      Hello Lucky! With CCCA, the follicles will not go dormant if the hair loss disorder is stabilized -- so no longer spreading. Unfortunately with CCCA, once the hair follicle is COMPLETELY destroyed its nothing you can do about it. So its important to really focus on both internal and externals factors during this process and maintain as well. I don't know what type of meds you were on -- may be anti-inflammatory (or steroidal type meds). Determine what the meds were designed to do, and see what you can do naturally in lieu of meds. Were you on Rogaine or Minoxidil? If so, that's a vasodilator (increase blood circulation to scalp), so you may want to increase circulation in your body in other ways. Also, most clients use the follicle stimulating growth drops for 'maintenance' but don't apply as frequently. Hope this helps.

    If my hair is falling out what type of blood work can help me find out what is going with my hair?

    • @KarenofCurlHouse
      @KarenofCurlHouse  Рік тому +1

      Hi Michelle! My recommendations are CBC (complete blood count); iron and ferritin; thyroid; sex hormones; and ANA (for autoimmune diseases or alopecia areata). These are general recommendations. Is your hair fall sudden or gradual?

    Greetings, I have been diagnosed with ccca and the top of my hair is balding and very thin and at my crown it is bald I have been doing several things that are totally natural, taking pumpkin seed oil and black seed oil changed my diet, I shampoo with an all natural organic solution and conditioner...with all that will my hair ever grow back???

    • @KarenofCurlHouse
      @KarenofCurlHouse  Рік тому +2

      Hi Miscelda! Thank you for the question, and I totally understand your concerns. CCCA is degenerative and can cause permanent follicular damage to hair follicles if not treated early. So in other words, hair follicles that have been permanently scarred are probably no longer viable. Hair can only grow from active, viable follicles. Without looking at your scalp I can't really say. But let me ask you a few questions -- How long have you been treating your CCCA?; Are you highly stressed? -- stress induces inflammation exacerbating your problem; and do you incorporate scalp massages or anything else topical to stimulate growth? You are welcome to private message me at info@curlhouse.com Also, if you haven't already, join my waiting list for my Health and Hairness Program launching this spring, where I will take a full holistic approach to hair growth. Truth be told, as a community we need to stop treating this like a haircare issue. Scarring alopecia is an autoimmune disorder. If people don’t simply take supplements to manage their lupus or asthma, how could this be so for an autoimmune condition which inflames and destroys hair follicles? There are plenty of black dermatologists who specialize in black hair loss. Believe me when I say going on the antibiotic doxycycline and steroid treatment has improved my hair to the point where the bald spot isn’t even visible anymore. This is what you need-medicine. You have to treat this condition like a disease. Haircare does matter but no oils will quell the internal inflammation which is causing this disorder. If you have food sensitivities, yes eliminating those can help however no diet and some oils ain’t enough for this, I promise.

    In your opinion, why are so may black women having this issue? I thought it was because of the weaves and wigs they are wearing today

    • @KarenofCurlHouse
      @KarenofCurlHouse  Рік тому +2

      Hi Netta! Good question! Weaves and wigs certainly are the cause for some types of hair loss, but not all. Traction alopecia (trauma and tension on the scalp from tight styles, braids, weaves, etc) is one of the main types of hair loss among Black women.
      This type of hair loss referenced in the video, CCCA, also has a genetic component. But there are so many reasons for hair loss, including side effects from medications, nutrient deficiencies, hormonal imbalances, unmanaged stress, etc. and alot of the time the hair loss is most present in the crown.

      @@KarenofCurlHouse it breaks my heart when I see so many Queens with this condition. The Word of God says a woman’s hair is her crown and glory. I’m in constant pray for restoration. I’ve never been a weave or wig person, but do feel bad for those who do wear them because of the damage it can do to their crown

      Black women wear those tight braids that pull your hair out from the roots and it will not grow back. That's the worst style ever created .
