      Im so very greatful that i came across you channel and videos.
      After watching through them i did see how badly structured my CV and letter was and how much my interview skills lacked.
      Ive been searching for a new job now for about 6 months applaying to everything that was interesting to me and where i could see myself working.
      Ive had succes in having many first interviews and each time i learned more how to apply what ive learned here, ive even had a opportunity where i was first choice but timing of when i could start forced the company to go with their second option.
      Ive been on a couple of second interviews and fallen short perhaps on chemistry.
      But all the time ive been more confident and learned how to use the material.
      2 days ago i was offered and accepted a new job that is a perfect fit.
      And the knowledge from you is instrumental in me getting it, im really greatful and to everyone reading this comment i cantvstress enough how good this videos are and i hope they help more like me get to a better job.
      Thanks for the extraordinarie work in helping out people.

    This is why so many people are becoming entrepreneurs. You literally have to do circus acts just to get a job and these employers continue to say that no one wants to work. Look at what they put you through just to get into the door. You can’t help who will like you. An attractive woman who’s being interviewed by a plain Jane is not going to get hired simply because she’s attractive. It happens all the time. It doesn’t matter how much you perform it’s based off of another person judging you.

      @@lovemarinelife If I am interviewed by a woman...I know I have NO chance. If it is a guy, 98% of the time I get the job. Women are BRUTAL to other women in the workplace. HR slobs, and I mean slobs, most of them are examples of how to LET YOURSELF GO. Mean and bitter people who WILL not hire anyone they think is sharp, attractive, or smart. They want fellow slobs in their circles.

    The thank you note is a great tip! My second interviews have always been more like a business meeting "get to know you over a coffee in a cafe" more conversational in nature and usually with your future manager and a stakeholder in the team who wasn't in the first interview. However, you made a valid point, the second interview is about deciding who not to hire so don't be too casual. I guess that some second interviews may be more of a double-down on skills, but my experience is that is all exhaustively covered in the first interview.

    Hello Bill, thank you so much for all the good work.
    This channel has been very helpful.
    I have a few questions for you; what’s the best way to answer these second interview questions:
    1. How do you handle disagreements with your superiors?
    2. Tell me about a time where you had a conflict with a coworker.
    3. How do you like to be managed?
    4. What would you do if we hired you and three weeks into your first month, you realized this job was not a perfect fit for you?
    Also, is it okay if you’ve never had experiences mentioned in the behavioral questions (like, tell me about a time you had a disagreement with your boss) to say so, or must you create imaginary scenarios in that case to satisfy the interviewer?
    Thank you so much.
    Best regards,
    Onoriode.

    I am very greatful for all the informative videos... This specific video helped me a lot in being prepared for the second interview.
    I just had my second interiew this morning, and as I was saying good bye and thanking them for the oppertunity one of the four interviewers walked out behind me telling me that I did very well in the interview and that the process will speed up very rapidly from this point on. So my question to you will be what can I expect now?
    I don't want to get my hopes all up, although I want to stay positive.
    My one question at the end was, "what will be the next step in your recruitment process from this point on?"

    Bill, I would like to know your view on this. This is not any sort of a pain for me, I’m just curious about your opinion.
    Last year I was having one of the interviews for a GM position. For the 2nd interview I was invited to the company’s headquarter. I’ve been provided a plane tickets, the hotel reservation and the date of an interview was fixed. But, I received the positive PCR test right before the flight. So, I informed the company and I did not come. Consequently the 2nd interview was organised later and again via Zoom… And I didn’t get a job. Do you think that the fact I was not been able to travel for the 2nd F2F interview, could potentially force the decision for the other guy (who, I suppose, did managed to flight in)?
    Thanks for your thoughts on this.

  • @belt1749
    @belt1749 2 роки тому +11

    I’m interviewing for sales rep positions, currently in college. I find myself being too casual within interviews since that’s my general nature, how to balance professionalism while also having a more casual conversational approach? Or is this not suggested at all

    • @tommyfletcher1357
      @tommyfletcher1357 2 роки тому +3

      I do the exact same thing! I end up being too casual in interviews, like calling them by their first names too early or something. What I try to do is stay very professional throughout the interview, and then when you reach the end and they say "do you have any questions for me?", I start to be a little more casual and try to have more of a conversation with the interviewer, rather than a more formal back and forth like the first part of the interview. I find that when the interviewer asks "do you have any questions for me?" That they have done what they came there to do. What happens after they get through the parts that they HAVE to do is they start to feel a little more relaxed. They've done what they came there to do, and they feel like they can get to know you more as a person, without formal questions that they have to ask being in the way.
      I've never been a high level manager or anything, so take that advice with a grain of salt, but I feel like it helps me. I have definitely had interviews where the first half didn't go so well, but I completely saved it by asking good questions, having an energetic, productive conversation with the interviewer, and using that as a way to leave the interviewer with a more positive impression of me.

Or that i dont have a job but i apply to 2 or more ads but i got an interview from job which is not my favourite of 2. So i am not in a rush and in both cases not desperate to take the job no matter what. Can i in this case be a little bit cocky at the interview or will it backfire. So instead of i will be one who will have hard time (and sweaty hands) maybe i can be the guy who will "pick" my employee with questions like what can you offer to me, what kind of salary you can offer etc? Is this a good approach in that kind of case or it can backfire anytime soon? Thanks

      have "experience" elsewhere, as in volunteer work that you can show/prove how you can bring that to the table. Have a side hustle that shows the skills the position seeks. If you want to move up, find somewhere you can get that experience or exposure to have a way of presenting that you are versed in what they need. Just cuz it isn't a paying gig doesn't mean you aren't gaining valuable knowledgeable experience or skills. Or take courses, like linkedin stuff...

      @@Aliplus They didn't take it to 2nd interview and went with the last candidate they interviewed on the Friday... So nothing I could do really. I had another 2nd interview recently with one extra person and for that I jotted down my strengths and weakness and thought of examples to prove them.... Feedback from the interview was they thought I'd get bored with that position and offered me a didn't role that isn't available yet... It sucks to do well but get nothing for it...
