Was well out of highschool at that time in music played that tune with a few different cover bands was always a favorite of mine loved Dwayne's chops big influence along with Tommy Bolin Joe Walsh Ted Nugent Skunk Backster Randy Bachman lol the list goes on and on
Most of them went to Terry Parker HS in Jax, Fl. a few yrs before me. You could hear them practice from down the block. LOL Loud as anything. When I was a Paramedic in Jax I had a EMS call at this older woman house & I saw Molly Hatchet pictures all over the walls. She said one of them was her Grandson. LOL
Thank you for that! People asked me all the time who my favorite players are and I always mention Dwayne Roland and of course everybody asks who is that. I say he’s one of the most melodic soloists I’ve ever heard. I hope you do more of Dwayne‘s solos, by the way I think you’re the best teacher on you tube
Great song! Nice job on it too! This was my favorite song to do years ago when I jammed with my friends...I played mostly drums back then. I should learn it on guitar too!
This is one of the very few songs that pass the original and make it better. And that's saying a lot! Watchtower and Crossroads come to mind. I LOVE ABB, but Molly Hatchet made this song much better, imho, and thank you for covering their version.
One of my all time favorites and one I’m slowly learning in pieces, thanks to you. You must enjoy it too, as you haven’t done many songs three times. Thanks for all you do
Fantastic cover by Molly Hatchet. And really fun to play on guitar. I don't really know the second solo note for note, so I generally skip it -- kind of like you did here. Great job as always. Thanks.
The second solo just isn't melodic like the first one (which is a version of Duane's solo). I couldn't even memorize the second solo, it doesn't stick with me.
God sure did bless Danny Joe with a Great singing voice.. RIP MY BROTHER.. What was it all your mom's feed you all for breakfast.. to endup being such great musiciian... Southern Rockers forevermore.
Also James your Guitar collection is bar none one of the best on youtube. Maybe someday and if your up to it. We all would like a glimpse into that museum of yours.. OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE WITH THE LES PAUL AS ALWAYS. .. PEACE AND MANY BLESSING YOU AND THE FAMILY
@@jamesjames9275that’s what I have trouble. I can’t always hit just the right strings and it drives me mad. I learned bass first and got used to using my thumb and fingers ergo I’m useless with a plectrum. Great job on this tune, you sound just right. Thanks.
Great guitar solo , one of my favorite of all time, I opened for Molly Hatchet one summer and they were all super cool to us
Thank you Oh King of All T-Shirts👍🏻👍🏻🎸🎸
Excellent tutelage James🎸👍🎵
Kick ass brother!! Sounds great!!
Yes! the Hatchet! - I saw these guys at University of Florida back in the early 80's. Great Band!

wow, remember playing that in my band .....many moons ago. thanks pvtrkr!
Loved this, Thanks again for all the time you put into these videos. (love the shirt)
I was not a big fan of this version I love ABB but watching you cover this made me like it way more, thanks JJ. You are the man!!!!
how much in royalties do you get, from starting up countless garage bands? And I mean that in a good way 😊
Can't believe all the original members are no longer with us
I believe Steve Holland is still alive, but yes, the remaining original members have all passed
Did Hlubeck pass away?
@@AnthonyBurrito1313 yep

As stevo would say, Yeah dude!!!!
Thanks
Molly Hatchet did a better job than the original! Great job!

Hi James, how you doing? Are you muting the strings or palm muting on the beginning riff. Love this song but gotta get it right, thanks.
Palm muting. But also muting the surrounding strings so there's no spillover.

I wish I was you!
JJ - between you and the youtube control that let's you slow things down I'm gonna learn how to play rhythm guitar
Y'know....there's something about that song that reminds me of Steppenwolf.
Lol call me crazy ,but I was sure this is an Allman Brothers original 😜
Bagot Corner your right it is AB version is slower.
Sure is , always liked this version though for some reason
Slow down your vibrato.
You do your thing, I’ll do mine.
