Mods: Custom Exhaust set up, Forge CBV, and Snaab 3in. turbo inlet pipe.
Volvo's 5-cyl one of the greatest sounding engines. Proud owner of C70 2.3 t5 and 6-cyl S60 3.0 T6.

Get a UrS4 or UrS6 they sound much better, and have way higher numbers for fraction of the price on the B5 Volvo blocks. They are expensive though. Even for ones with 250k to 300k miles they are still 8k to 10k

Sounds amazing. I had a straight s60 and would have got an R but in Spain you cant modify anything on your vehicles has to be standard as manufactured except maybe changing tires etc.

Hey! I forgot the overall length and number. Its a Borla Xr1 muffler 3inch inlet and 3inch outlet. You can look straight through it. Hilton is a good tuner. I am on a stage 2 contrast tune now. This video is old now ive upgraded a lot since this video.

exactly what I’m looking for. I currently run 2.5” straight pipe from the catback. Do you think with this setup it will be quieter? I’m trying to delete that highway drone between 70-80 MPH.
WAZAM939 i have drone at 60mph after 67mph or so i dont get any drone. I plan on putting in a vibrant resonator.
@@minnesotaprimal9721 If you haven't done this yet do it. I put one on my custom exhaust that's on my Saab 9-3 Aero and it absolutely killed all the drone. Currently looking into the S60R's and want one of these guys too now haha thanks for the video!
I think I've seen/heard you cruise through uptown a couple of times. Sounds great! I've got that flash green R with a silver bumper and fender if you've ever seen me around. Know anybody in town who's shimmed their R block?
marshkid1 I have never took the R to uptown it might be thatvolvo dude. Thanks though ill keep a eye out for ya. I don't know anyone who does shimming. Ace media has good videos of it.

One question, can you tune an auto version of the car? Is it safe for the transmission?
Yup. Yes it is safe. I know a few Autos in Minnesota that are pushing some solid hp numbers and the trans is fine. Check out Hilton tuning or Contrast Works.

I have a catless S60 2.4 NA and it sounds excellent. I just have a shitty muffler on right now and was looking at other options. I think I'll give the XR-1 a shot since I've heard a lot of good things about it. No one has put it on the 2.4 NA tho so it's going to be hard for me to tell whether it's good or not

Stock OEM. Came with the car.

Jason Rivero yes res. Is deleted. From the the turbo its a 8eightfab dp, to a straight 3 inch pipe to a Borla XR-1 muffler, to a straight 3 inch pipe all the way out. Going to add in a vibrant straight through resonator soon to help with highway drone.

How reliable are these cars ?
Engines are pretty solid, the transmissions are the major problem with them
Keep the maintenace up on them and dont launch them.

@@HubraumTV auto's havent heard much about the manual since they are kind of rare
@@HubraumTV manuals are rare and cannot withstand more than 400 whp for long time. 6-speed autos are reliable if you change oil regularly and install additional cooling on it. 5-speed auto are crap. Engine is something between "reliable" and "headache". Main problem of R-engine is cast iron engine sleeves cracks. It's costly to repair and easier to rebuild engine on ford s-max block with little-to-no modifications (same 2.5 5-cyl, but much cheaper). And shock absorbers is not cheap at all, it has Monroe controllable shocks.
