I'm in love with my G-5600, a classic watch with different customization, a model that has gradually disappeared from stores to become another legendary watch of the G Shock models.
Glad i did my research and purchased this model instead of the more popular GW5600. Solar works really well and there is no point going with the Atomic Clock models in Southern Hemisphere.
Thank you for making this video..... have this same watch and had to adjust for day light savings time.....and it helped me a lot.....cheaper watch has a different adjustment....
Hi Harinder, never changed mine to a NATO. However, it is possible. You just gotta buy a connector from Ebay...never buy one so you need to search it. Saw it from the Urban Gentry channel from UA-cam.
Could you please let us know your wrist size, please? I got a 6.5 inches wrist so I would be able to get an idea on how this watch will look on me. Thanks in avance and greetings from Chile.
No ! The G-5600UE is the updated version . It has white LED backlight instead of the EL one, selectable light duration , date month swap. Multi Language. By the way the model reviewed here is the G-5600E . The Dw5600 does not have U & is very basic (does not have any of these functions not even solar)
Hello, really like your video. I am from India and I am really confused between DW-5600 Or this the solar one G-5600. My 85% use is to check time and want to keep it for at least 5+ years, so build quality is the concern but since both are g-shock so no worries 😉. In India, there is quite a difference between the price of the both the watches at least for me, so please tell me which will be better for me according to my use. Thank you 😊
Hi Ansh if there is a big difference in pricing and changing batteries is not really expensive in India, go for the DW5600. The fact that you have this thought seems like you are divided between having to change batteries every 2+ years or just having to go solar till the watch breaks. 1 thing is the deciding factor, the price. Save some money by going for the original DW then :)
In my opinion, the older version. G5600ue is better cz it has a LED backlight that saves energy. However, if you are like me that likes the Electroluminesence colour of green, then better go for the older G5600 that is phasing out. End of the day it's all personal preference cz you will be the one wearing the watch :)
@@AxeandYung Thank you for replying 😄 I guess I'll buy this one after all. I really like this one over the g6900. Nice content and explanation of features btw. Hope to see you making more videos like this.
Hi brother, check the backplate for your watch reference (DW or GW) if the DW does not have this function. If GW, check at the 7 min mark of this video where I share how to :)
Hi Axe. I got this watch 10 days ago. For the first few days, it stayed only indoors (electric light) and the battery power indicator showed “M” which is no surprise. Then I exposed it to direct sunlight for about 2 hours and it showed “H” as it should. But after a few hours back in my apartment, it showed “M” again! This seems like a very fast drop in power in a short time. Is that normal? Thanks.
Hi Sarah, that definitely is abnormal. Mine has never dropped to M before. Even when I did not wear it and keep it in my desk for a few weeks. Better get it checked or exchanged if under warranty
@@AxeandYung Hi Axe. Thank you for answering. I've just looked at my watch after a few days in my apartment, and to my surprise, now it shows “H”! Maybe it needed a few more days to recharge, after being packed in the box. I also looked at the manual. The recovery table says it needs 20 hours of direct sunlight to reach level 2 (and stay there), and 6 hours to reach level 1. My watch got only 2 hours of direct sunlight. Maybe that explains why it dropped so fast to “M”. I will keep watching, hoping this was just a slow beginning. Thanks.
Kiikong Kulikot I actually tried and yes it does show RCVD and all markers are shown right. It’s like when you press shift-on-7 on a Casio fx-570MS calculator. It just shows what the panel on your watch is capable of showing. Since this G5600 model use the same panel as the G5610 screen, it will show but without the actual function. Cool find :)
@@GeekPeek Yes it'll last more than 2 years. There's members in watch forums that it might last for 20 years. Read here forums.watchuseek.com/f17/tough-solar-battery-life-span-4202554.html
I prefer the G5600E. I sold the DW5600 cz I rarely wear it and I worry about the batterylife too much on the DW. The G5600E has solar soo..it can run forever! :)
Yeah, this watch doesn't get the attention I think it should. Solar is really the one special option I want. I don't care about atomic radio reception or bluetooth. This watch is a bit expensive though..
True it is cheaper. However, the G5600E is 15 dollars more for a worry-free watch that does not need a battery change, has world -time and a timer. Pretty good deal if you ask me. Just another option for you my friend.

Does it steel buckle has made in Thailand engraving or made in china engraving . please let me know. Because i am confuse in it.
For Gshock watches, if its made in Thailand. The buckle will likely be Made in Thailand. If the watch is made in China, buckle also made in China. :)
If you are not getting sun light for that many months I think your watch is your last concern haha
