Thanks for sharing your stories with your G-shock, it's a great beater watch :) Here's the review of my latest acquisition ua-cam.com/video/0OOE0-wZ8yE/v-deo.html
Hey, it's a new day in the neighborhood with the G-5600! I now have the G-5600UE-1(with the updated module) and it has many improvements over the original G-5600! I also own the DW-5600 but it doesn't have "foxfire" on it. The version with "foxfire" on it is usually the version from Japan. Foxfire is referring to the EL backlight on the watch.
hye, can you please tell what improvement the new UE model brings, I know that now we can see the current time even while using Stopwatch, can you please tell the other improvements? looking to buy one hence curious
The main problems with G5600 are (1) The backlight. It's too dim and too short (1.5sec). Harder to see in the dark. Auto-el will not be helping much if it's too dim. DW5600 is much brighter, lasts longer. (2) The alarm sound is too soft compared to DW5600. I missed many alarms because of it. (3) When the display is seen from an angle, the digits become 888888. It is much more difficult to see. (4) CDT doesn't have an auto-repeat. I used this feature many times in the kitchen and during workouts. (5) I feel the strap on 5600 feels much more comfortable. The positive of G5600 is that it's solar-powered. However, the battery in DW5600 can last for years, unlike smartwatches that only last 2-3 days.
I own the G-5600 and I have no difficulty seeing the time in low light environments, I work with my hands busy and this model's automatic light activation system has helped me a lot in my tasks, for me it's perfect, a classic with an update for the most demanding audience and compared to the basic version I have no doubt that it is worth investing in the more modern model.
Gotta ask out of curiosity... the alarm sound on the G5600 cannot be so low that one misses alarms. I mean it's a wristwatch, so would probably be worn on the wrist. Not a lot of distance between wrists and the ears. Unless, of course, the watch is not worn and is kept away at a distance.
DW-5600E Fox Fire is domestic sold in Japan. I bought my Fox Fire in Japan since 1997 and used it until today, 2 time overall and replace battery every year. It made in Korea.

I have had two casio solar watches and wearing a third, model as shown in the video. Previous two I only got 4 years out of before the battery was dead. Defeats the whole purpose of solar powered. I won't be buying another when this one dies. I think a 7 or 10 year battery is the way to go.
Best review! Thanks! Can you tell me: how loud is the alarm, same both? and HOW LONG (I bought another model and it is just a disappointing 10 seconds and very low... Thanks for your answer!

Hello! After how long should we have to change battery? Is that expensive, I mean the battery? Do you think it’s worth to buy a solar one? Congratulations and thanks a lot for the review.
The battery is inexpensive. Usually about 5 dollars. If you know how to change it yourself, the battery can be bought online for 1 dollar. The difference is the convenience. The solar one have been hassle free for 2 years now, no battery change needed!
Are the straps for both of same size??? , I want to order strap adapter but its available only for DW5600. I have G5600 and want to change strap to nylon with adapters.
Does the "larger bump" on the G series add extra width to the dimensions? I know you said the G5600 is 1mm smaller height-wise. What about the length & width of the face? Thanks
I heard that the back gasket seal of the g5600 is unique and can be hard to find. It doesn't use the normal circular seal other gshock use. You might not need to replace the battery but if you do, this might cause a problem, especially if you're buying a watch that has been running in the store for many years.
Thank you for also reviewing "Fox Fire". There is no review video anywhere. detailed information and a successful business. I bought it after watching. thanks for your help
Great review! Thanks for making it. I have a question - in the tough solar watch (G5600E), the time not showing while using the stopwatch and timer is a con IMO. Dunno why they couldn't have designed it such a manner that the time is also visible. What a bummer. Anyway... one question comes into my mind. Could it be possible that while the stopwatch/timer is being used, one could switch to time mode and check the time before switching again to stopwatch/timer with these two functions still running in the background while you had previously switched to time mode? Cos if the watch works that way, then it's good enough. But if the stopwatch/timer stops and resets altogether if you switch to time mode, then that's no good. Could you kindly check that and let us know?
One very important u missed.... G5600 has auto calendar till 2099 and dw5600 has upto 2039. Today we are in 2020 and will be alive till 2039 so from 2040 the watch wont show correct date, day and year. But we wont live till 2099 so G5600 is more preferable as it will be a lifetime watch.
The Dw5600e with 3229 model module has a calendar until 2099. It's an updated version of dw5600 vs the 1545 model variant of dw5600e. So if you gonna buy a dw5600e just see at the back plate of the watch if it has 3229 model at it and you good to go until 2099. ✌️
Hello, please see if you can guide me. I am searching amazon for the Casio G-Shock DW 5600E-1 Compatible Stainless Steel Watch Screen Protector and I only find the Casio G-Shock DW 5600E Fox Fire Compatible Stainless Steel Watch Screen Protector. As you can see, you have had both in your hands and I have doubts if the protector that I find the G5600E Fox Fire can be adjusted in my Casio G-Shock DW 5600E-1 Tough solar relog.
Hi John, I've sold the Fox Fire version last year. I think they're slightly different. Head to the nearest Walmart or Target to compare. Hope it helps!
DW 5600 is awesome! Very cheap ($40), the display is great even at angles, has basic functions - nothing fancy. The 5000 is too expensive ($260-$300), just for the exact functions of the GWM5610u (solar and automatic sync) but the 5610 is only $90. So the DW5600 is a better buy, unless you want to spend $300
Is the G5600E strap soft similar to GA2100 ? Cause i feel the DW5600 strap too stiff and harsh on my hand compare to GA2100 which has the carbon core strap and much lighter
Both good the G5600 is almost twice the price if you can find it its not readily available in UK, we get the m5610 solar and radio controlled which is about the same price as the G5600e so i guess it makes no sense to get the G5600e? I do have it and like it as the face is styled like the regular Dw5600e either way they are both recommended.

I'm a little confused. I don't know much about this. I was thinking that the Japanese domestic model of a watch meant that it was actually made in Japan but according to what you're saying it's made in China I'm confused why have a domestic model if it's going to be manufactured in China just like the rest of them?
i actually like the face of g5600e better than the gwm5610 (for market with atomic signal). i like the simple 5600c-like face while 5610 is 5000c inspired but missing the brick pattern. dw5600e is also good but tough solar is no brainer for me since i always had to change my battery every 2 years or so on my old dw5000sl (same module as 5600e).
Yes I like the design of the DW5600 too, however the G5600 tough solar just makes it an even better option. Similar design and infinity battery life :) Thanks for sharing!
Technically speaking neither of them are, casio has different series within G-shocks for Mudresist called Mudmans. But tbh they are fine for the purpose, you can easily find mudman series watches on amazon and see they have covered and different type of buttons.
Everyone should own a Casio g shock if yiu are serious about being on time. These watches just won't quit. I have a g shock mudman. Toughest g shock ever made.
Is there the possibility of activating the beep function simultaneously with a short flash of light on the G-5600 model in the same way as on the DW5600 model?
@@AxeandYung On model DW-5600 if we activate the bell icon on the display it will emit a full hour beep at the same time the display will blink, right? Okay. The module in the G5600E has more complications/functions that the DW5600E. We could argue that the shape of the numbers in the DW5600E is better. It depends on your aesthetic choice, either way is fine to me.
Personally bought the solar powered version of casio G-Shock DW 5600 watch... Utterly disappointed with brand Casio G-Shock! Just after 3 or 4 months of normal usage ( No swimming, No Diving, No Extreme water Sports, No Surfing) it developed fog and water vapour inside the glass disrupting the time view. I went to the Casio Service centre but the service center people bluntly told me that there was no option for replacement. They also shamelessly told me that their watches are water resistant and not water proof. They said they never claim that their watches are water proof in their advertising also. They simply changed some parts and dried the fog or water vapour inside AND after a few months the fog and water vapour inside the glass RETURNED. What a Waste. 👎 Had it been the case of putting the watch under extreme conditions , it is understandable, but the refusal to replace the watch under normal conditions seemed callous and unprofessional on part of Casio. Utterly disappointed by such a big brand LIKE CASIO AND G-SHOCK with big & HOLLOW claims! 😒 Big advertising and low quality.
That's sad to hear. I have no problems with my Casio F91W or my DW5600 up to date. It must've been a QC issue. Anyways, don't let a small setback spoil your experience with this brand because it is soo affordable. Get a new one from a reputable dealer and move on :) It'll do wonders to your mental health. Take care
Good informative video however it was often confusing at times which watch was which at least for the viewers, or at least for me.... After all you yourself even pointed out the seemingly identical appearance between the two, at least to the untrained eye or also the viewer of a UA-cam video... 🥸 Just goes to show the world of Casio digital time pieces (especially of the g shock variety) are very elaborated and almost a universe in its own right with seemingly never ending collabs and upgrades to existing models. But I thought I had the world of gshock at least SOMEWHAT navigated untill watching this video now I am back towards.the overwhelmed/undereducated feeling again as I wasn't even aware that Casio makes a "tough.solar" version of a 5600 model? As I thought the "entry level" in the tuff solar family was the gwm 5610 - 1? (Or something very closely related to) anyways thanks! So my question now is, is the fox fire dw5600 more or less THE bare bones basic necessity tough reliable entry or base model of all (especially square) g shocks?? Or is there a dw5600 that has a strikingly similar appearance/case/module/band that is virtually essentially the exact same watch save the words "fox fire" for "water resistant... whatever etc etc.?". Thanks again for clearing that up! 🤷🏻😸

Hi Ammar, bought this from a retailer in Singapore. You can try Ebay or Amazon ;)
Thank you
I'm a little confused. I don't know much about this. I was thinking that the Japanese domestic model of a watch meant that it was actually made in Japan but according to what you're saying it's made in China I'm confused why have a domestic model if it's going to be manufactured in China just like the rest of them?
Cz the Japanese domestic market is cooler ;)
Very good watch.
G 5600E and DW 5600E , which is the best one, smooth watch ❤❤, please do suggest me.. lots of love ❤ from India 🎉❤
Go for the DW to save $$ and like the OG design.
Is the solar one still going good or the battery died ?
I sold it in good working condition last year
Is there a little gap between dial and bezel?
There is no gap.
I bought the tough solar version for Rs 4600 in India.
where from? also is it okay to buy it online? considering the watch has stayed for months in a dark warehouse somewhere.
@@candlesoflife I bought the watch from a shop (auth Casio dealer).
Similar pricing in Singapore
Foxfire ? Why in Indonesia we didnt see that on sampe type ?
because its a JDM version. It can be purchased in Japan tho. The one I had is from Yodabashi, Osaka
i actually like the face of g5600e better than the gwm5610 (for market with atomic signal). i like the simple 5600c-like face while 5610 is 5000c inspired but missing the brick pattern. dw5600e is also good but tough solar is no brainer for me since i always had to change my battery every 2 years or so on my old dw5000sl (same module as 5600e).
Yes I like the design of the DW5600 too, however the G5600 tough solar just makes it an even better option. Similar design and infinity battery life :) Thanks for sharing!
Is the g5600 smaller than dw5600?
the design of the G5600 it’s slightly larger
@@AxeandYungThat is false. The original DW5600 model is larger than the solar modal.
Just as iconic as the Rolex Explorer and it's younger.
what's your wrist size sir?
48 millimeters on top of my wrist and 16 centimeters in circumference. Therefore I prefer watches that are 48mm lug-to-lug and below.
which one is mud ressist?
both are
Technically speaking neither of them are, casio has different series within G-shocks for Mudresist called Mudmans. But tbh they are fine for the purpose, you can easily find mudman series watches on amazon and see they have covered and different type of buttons.
nice review.
Thank you 😃 Hope you like our channel.
Hi new subscriber here. Just want to know if G-5600E looks good on those with smaller wrist? Thanks.
Yes it does for me. Well, beauty is subjective. Try one yourself, in a watch store and see if you like it.
Mine arrived and it's good solar ver it's a small watch
Nicee, wear it in good health!
do you wear them both?
Yes sometimes =)
Which one is smaller? I got confused they look the same
the DW5600 is slightly smaller
went for ue version
Cheers Dennis! Wear the watch in good health!
Everyone should own a Casio g shock if yiu are serious about being on time. These watches just won't quit. I have a g shock mudman. Toughest g shock ever made.
Rambo you're the toughest man alive! The mudman must've have a hard time on your wrist💪
@@AxeandYung 😊
Btw even your tough solar is going to die sooner than you think ( i have one ) . Not like an automatic chronograph.
when did yours die?
@@AxeandYung About 4 years . I wasn't even using the functions very often ...... Deceiving .....
Is there the possibility of activating the beep function simultaneously with a short flash of light on the G-5600 model in the same way as on the DW5600 model?
Hi Tiago, which buttons do you press to activate that function?
@@AxeandYung On model DW-5600 if we activate the bell icon on the display it will emit a full hour beep at the same time the display will blink, right? Well, in the G-5600 model, in addition to emitting a full-hour beep, can it flash simultaneously with the beep in the same way that it occurs in the DW-5600 model?
@@AxeandYung Maybe you don't know this detail because the model that emits the full hour beep and blinks at the same time is the DW-5600 Illuminator and not the Fox Fire.
Dw-5600 world record watch
Yes! Very durable watch. The kind where the wearer might be dead but the watch still lives to tell the tale. Perfect for a Zombie apocalyse or the Armed forces
❤ love from Sweden. 🇸🇪

Casio should upgrade the dw5600. Add 5 alarms, and autolight.
I'm pretty the g5600 IS the upgrade
Thank You
You're welcome
Can’t see a bloody thing for the daylight glare
Right, I do have issues too if it is too bright and I’m working out in the construction site
G 5600e is better.
Yes I agree! Checkout the review of the G5600 here ua-cam.com/video/leRHL6JjKEY/v-deo.html and here's my metal bezel mod which makes it awesome ua-cam.com/video/Il0dVXqPfyU/v-deo.html
Does G Series have band 6?
This series does not have band 6. You could try their a bit more pricey cousins. :) Here's a review ua-cam.com/video/HVAFQb96D10/v-deo.html
@@AxeandYung *they're
Dw fox fire is the way to go just order myself one from amazin
Glad the video helped in making you a good purchase!
I’m getting the GWM5610-1 next
In my place, the difference in price between these two models is just about 4$ and of course i'm gonna get the tough solar one :)
Yes. Been running for 2 years and my tough solar battery is still FULL :)
@@AxeandYung Any info about metal bezel and strap mod for this G5600? i ask some sellers in online marketplace that selling metal mod for DW 5600 but they said it can't fit G5600 since it has a different dimension with G5600
@@andreyosuap Yes it's different, you should get the metal mod for your specific model. Here's my video on the metal mod ua-cam.com/video/Il0dVXqPfyU/v-deo.html
Its a $50 difference between models here in Australia
thank you
You're welcome
I just got the 5600e-1 Fox Fire and I just ordered the tough solar with the updated 3496 module. Great video, thank you!
Your welcome
@@AxeandYung *You're
would you sell me the foxfire..?
Sold it 2 months ago. Sorry. The buyer was delighted to have such a rare watch. Ghazali, you might be able to buy them via Chrono24 or if you're visiting Japan. At Yodobashi, Osaka. Might have in Tokyo but you gotta search. Enjoy the search, my friend.
@@AxeandYung Thanks for the info.
I bought the G5600E but the DW5600E has a better module
Had it been the case of putting the watch under extreme conditions , it is understandable, but the refusal to replace the watch under normal conditions seemed callous and unprofessional on part of Casio. Utterly disappointed by such a big brand LIKE CASIO AND G-SHOCK with big & HOLLOW claims! 😒
Big advertising and low quality.
Take care
даже руки этого унтерменша выбешивают,как можно такое близко к себе подпускать даже?!!!
Потому что мне нравятся часы
Good informative video however it was often confusing at times which watch was which at least for the viewers, or at least for me.... After all you yourself even pointed out the seemingly identical appearance between the two, at least to the untrained eye or also the viewer of a UA-cam video... 🥸
Just goes to show the world of Casio digital time pieces (especially of the g shock variety) are very elaborated and almost a universe in its own right with seemingly never ending collabs and upgrades to existing models.
Yes, the DW5600 is the most bare-bones of it all. However, this model line have many colours to choose from. Enjoy hunting!
