After completing the Fire Vellumental temple, you'll face the Hole Puncher boss at the Temple of Shrooms, which may be pretty challenging at first, but this strategy makes the boss very easy. hey, I have a question about a glitch that happened to me so I am working towards 100% completion of the game and I went to the museum to look at what enemies I need to defeat but for some reason the black shy guy wasn’t there even though I had already completed the temple, so I don’t know what to do now. Is there any other instance where I can fight the black shy guy’s.
I never go in to see toturals games because I like to solve it...but this hole puncher has me crying lol thank you for this guide
The good thing about this strategy is that it protects you from having your max HP cut down by that troublesome attack he can use because not only does it put you out of his attack range for said move but also because Hole Punch starts spamming his special attack once his HP is below half and no longer attempts the HP cutting move, and even then you can completely block the special with the Earth Vellumental and stun the boss in doing so. It's genius!

Honestly Hole puncher is my favorite boss in the game. He has a groovy personality and has really cool boss gimmicks! I beat him easier and quicker then any other boss, WITHOUT GUIDES! That's because I read the letter on the first turn and landed on the back side first, then I knew his weakness and hit him with hammers and arms in his weak point as much as I can!

Supposedly you can just beat the boss with an Earth Vellumental Circle and it just pops right off, which I didn’t think would work, but I was wrong. I’m looking at the clip again and the glowing parts from the hands still spawn in.

I tried this technique And it actually worked in practice Mode since I beated it already but i will use this technique If I want to play this again!

@@ZXMany I noticed something interesting as I was attempting the Hole Punch. Instead of getting the chest only, I used the chest and the Shiny Fire Flower. I was consistently unable to get turn 2, but the first time I got the chest only, I was easily able to get it.

It was easy for me. Beat this in one try.
Thanks, I got so cocky and excited that on my last turn to finish him off I put down a Vellumental instead of 1000 fold arms tile, so it took a couple extra turns, but I got my face back and killed him on turn 6... or 7?*

It took me a few tries to do it thing was I wasn’t gonna do it the final time but my 7-year-old niece came in my room and was like keep playing I looked at her and I’m like girl I don’t wanna know bothering me until I did so I did because she was watching me play we were having girl time but if it wasn’t for her I wouldn’t have beat it a lot longer for me to beat it that’s why I quit playing at the first time because I couldn’t beat the last bad guy the rubber band guyBut I finally got the right combination to hit it hard I had to go for the second hit and not hit it the first time

You say here you don't HAVE to attack him the first round, but the advice should be DON'T fight him the first round. Even if you reach his back it does no damage and his attack fs you up bad. So JUST open the chest, not a suggestion.
Edit: My mistake you can't hurt him if you JUMP from the back. You have to use hammer. So try attacking from behind WHILE getting the chest.
It's diabolical that every time you try again you have to watch the disco sequence. Mario developers are real sadists.

@@ZXMany I finally beat the game 🎉. I’m proud enough to say that even though the game made me cry at like 5 different times (all just in the boss fights), I liked the game

I can’t do turn 2 it’s luck based
Yeah, it's the toughest turn of the fight and sometimes I can't find out a solution for certain times when it's messed up. The rest of the fight will be a bit longer and more difficult if turn 2 isn't perfect, but it can still be done. Another option is resetting the fight if you don't get turn 2. Were you able to get it?
