No good ending. Not for the members, not for the fans, not for anyone.
Nijisanji management is my anger on. Not on the talents. Yes not even Millie or Luca. They may have defended Nijisanji management but they could have been ordered to or risk losing their jobs and I understand that. They are on the management good side now why would they stop now?

I think this one is one of the worst tho. The PR disaster after Selen termination caused artists and companies in EN side to not want to work with them. Heck, even non-Vtuber people like Moist even talked about this termination.
Also, it's hilarious that even Wikipedia Indonesia throws shade at them TWICE in their twitter. The ID bros are still angry about what happened to Niji ID, a branch with good management that got shafted by Nijisanji by the merger.

That’s traditionally what happens with terminations. Every trace of your existence in the company is erased and you are put on a blacklist of topics that that the remaining talent can never bring up again, at least by name.
Don't worry, the company isn't gonna be around long enough for it to matter. And I can see some of them walking out and dishing all the dirt they have on the company too.

It's not going to. There's 2 big cultural rifts that exist. One is east/west, corporate worship and all the allegations, like workplace abuse to the point of wanting to end it all is the accepted norm in Japan; and on top of that is how the niji fanbase over there is different(much more insensitive and nativist) than the other vtuber fanbases are. Also fanbases don't really care about stock prices, only investors do.
the stock will fall mainly because the en branch is falling. JP is doing great and is the reason anycolor makes any money, but they opened an overseas branch are failing on it so ofc its going to have some effects. nijijp fans wont change their mindset though, nijijp is doing great overall and cultural differences mean they wont change

People have been more wary of the company since the information dropped and the 2% merch revenue from Mysta. This one was just such levels of garbage that a lot of Livers are being unsubscribed to. I will bet a lot of them are also losing members as well. That's the real camel the will break the camels back, the money drying up. A lot of Livers could get terminated, which honestly is a better thing than working for such a shoddy company.
The longer the Livers stay the worse for them it could get. If the current anger turns into a campaign, if people start encouraging others to withdraw financial support from the Livers, the Livers will need to jump ship pretty quick, and will have to make it real messy, if only to keep their current fan base and transfer it to the PL accounts.

I hope Niji management keeps doubling down on this obvious and already multiple-times disproven f*uck1ng lie. Every time they do, they look stupider and more evil.
Realistically, that *is* something one should genuinely expect within a vtuber corporation. Niji's error here doesn't seem to be that they required communication and approval but rather that they routinely fail to communicate with talent that are trying to get projects going and reject things for no apparent reason. In contrast, while Hololive similarly requires permissions and approvals, their managers ensure the talent get the attention they need and work to try to make their projects happen. Myth (EN gen 1) even got several managers because the talents were so busy.

For management to deflect bad rep to their talents makes no sense from a business perspective.
Nijisanji is a talent agency. The point of a talent agency is to promote their talents so the talents can get them money. For their management to have so much arrogance to tarnish their talent's reputations to protect their own unsalvageable reputation is just completely tone deaf and idiotic.
One can't go making specific accusations without evidence without risking losing defamation lawsuits. I wouldn't expect to see specific culprits named.

Unethical conduct is being brought into the light. The case is now either to reform and if they don't they will leave the scene. In all liklihood reform won'thappen so i see the branch being closed and folded into JP branch, where management seems to be a bit better, but that will mean a lot of the Livers will lose their jobs

As for any legal action there is a chance however small that other Former Livers might be willing to speak, out, this is highly unlikely due to Japanese culture.
At the moment I think she is retaining a Canadian lawyer at the moment for the purposes of making a public statement similar to what Zaion Lanza did, She should make sure she does one for the English Community and then do one for the Japanese Community (that one will be fire because if she can provide proofs to them, that will really stir the hornets nest positioning the Japanese public against AnyColor, it will make the Japanese public think twice) because nomatter the culture abuse shouldn't be tolerated.

Once they get folded into the main branch, there won't be any more distinction or special selling points for non-JP livers compared to their JP counterparts. They'll have a harder time standing out, hurting their growth even more. A merger would only benefit management in the sense that they can cut off a lot of staff and save money, but even that is still a short-sighted endeavor.

I saw a comment on one of Niji's Doppio birthday posts saying that he would be better unaliving himself than working for the company. Its absolutely horrible. I understand anger towards the company, and I 100% support Doki, but this is unnecesary.

No it's not crazy, the ones at Niji probably aren't that experienced or have no experience at all. They exist to give the illusion of professionalism and benefit. A lot of these agencies have "perks" that become irrelevant once you've established yourself. Any form of management can be easily done by yourself or one other person.
Sayu now has a manager that is her long time friend and she cannot praise her enough. She, Matara, Kuro and now Selen safely proved that Niji management sucks MASSIVE balls
My guess with the permissions is they where pissed when she went around management and got permissions directly from the songs producer after management dragged their feet on it for 6 months, then told everybody about it making their staff look lazy and incompetent, which, you know, they are.
No, not 6 months. Lilypichu said it was Aug 2022 that's 18 months. Selen probably had it done before anyone on that video graduated. That's how long it has been. nijisanji "management" is maliciously incompetent.

I was talking about the time between when she approached management and when she went to Lilypichu herself since apparently management went radio silent on the matter. I was still wrong on the 6 month thing though since Selen didn't actually give a length for that part of the timeline and I am sorry for that.

Defamation is not a defense for an illegal action. Doki may even have a legal case against Anycolor, if she can prove that her workplace was poor. That should be very easy to prove, as she would have a LOT of witnesses willing to testify for her in court, to prove that Anycolor is a shady company.
Anycolor should hope that Doki doesn't sue them, not the other way around.

They can't because Dokibird is not Japanese, nor does she live in japan, so Japanese defamation laws don't apply to her. Not to mention, she never mentioned anything directly towards them, so even in Japan they would be unable to make a case against her :)

I also find it weird that Niji talents are taking "breaks" from social media after this bombshell dropped. I might be reading into it a bit much but this a classic Niji thing to do. They will collapse by the end of the year I think. I've read and seen so many shops, artist and riggers they worked with, who've said they won't do any work for them any more.
We might have to start hunting for their previous embodiments, as well. If they're all getting put on the chopping block for management's BS, that would definitely put an end to the EN branch.

Selen was the one that put her foot down and took action. You see where that led her. My guess is we'll see a few more terminations/graduations and then Niji EN will get absorbed into Niji JP, just like it happened with Korea, India and Indonesia.

I didn't watch much of Selen's streams, but I'm glad that now it seems like she's having a better time outside of Niji after having been in purgatory for so long. One of my oshis is Kyo, and I'm mainly disappointed that what was supposed to be a celebratory time for him as he nears his graduation is getting clouded by these events. If he had held his scheduled stream yesterday, the chat probably would have been full of spam asking him to comment on the situation rather than anything relevant to the stream.

The mass exodus from social media feels a bit orchestrated. I wonder if they were all told to take a break. As far as I know, Kyo and Alban weren't particularly close to Selen. Neither was Hex. Reimu absolutely adored her when they started. Enna and Selen bonded over their heritage and did fun streams together. Fulgur I can imagine is taking it particularly hard. They were really close and his long post shows that. He saw a good friend of his get dragged through the mud, disrespected, and terminated without notice. That must have hurt. On the plus side, I'm glad she's doing so much better. Getting a manager to help her get sponsors and the PO box is exciting. No longer needing to send letters to a corporate office in Japan. We can send her gifts and stuff. Exciting things. She did amazing things as Selen. She made so many contacts and left an impression. Now as Dokibird, she'll be free to soar higher and do even more with all the ground work she's laid for herself without having to worry about corporate shackes. ❤❤

I think it needs to be said that Sayu should get more credit than she gets for this development. She was the one who endured the brunt of the Niji fanbase's vitriol, and shed light on the vile nature of the management team.
If it weren't for her I think a good amount of people would have fallen for Niji's repeat attempt at a smear campaign. It worked the first time.
However to this day she still gets attacked by Niji fans; even though she already apologized for the mistakes she made a year ago, they still hold it against her as if she committed murder.

Ok so i have talked to some VTuber fans who also practice law. Before I state anything they have said I can share this information as long as they remain anonymous.
First everyone is saying they want Doki to out everyone and release the names of all the shitty people in Niji. That would be probably the worst possible thing she could do. We all know Niji has some kind of vendetta against Doki. If she were to do that, it would open up the door for Niji to sue for defamation. Any mentions of any Niji members or the company itself or anyone working inside would open the door to a long list of nasty lawsuits. These lawsuits would come down to who has more resources and money to spend, which we all know is Niji.
Second, for anyone saying that Doki could sue for wrongful termination, she probably would not be able too. It ultimately comes down to the difference between an employee and a contractor. All of the labor laws are mostly written for employees, not both contractors and employees. Most corporate VTubers follow the requirements of a contractor instead of employee, (the difference is a bunch of stuff that I am not qualified to explain simply). Due to this all of those labor laws that are supposed to protect her would then be null and void, since she is not technically an employee, but instead a contractor.
I want justice for Doki just as much as everyone else, but if she was to get into a legal battle she would be fighting a very steep uphill battle.
This is a very good point. Anycolor would also win big in that situation because if they can file a lawsuit. It lets them run to their JP viewers and shareholders and say "Look see! This person is so terrible we had to sue them! You believe us now right? This is a big conspiracy from the west to slander Anycolor!"

If I'm being honest, I've never really watched Selen's streams unless it was collabs with other members I knew. But even so, I still had very high respect for her and on how much she climbed to the position Shes at. Selen's a hard worker and I really appreciate her for that and will definitely be following her in her next journey.
I watch Kyo's streams often, after I heard that both a graduation and a termination happened in the same week, I really took a deep dive through a bunch of videos of everything that Nijisanji did as a company. From the Graduations and terminations of the best talents to the small artists they never payed, I hope all of them gets the recognition they deserve and nijisanji comes back with a formal apology for everything they did.
As for the fans, everyone recognizes that you're upset. but please please please do not lash that anger out on other talents even though they work for niji.
Nijisanji talents already have a lot to handle, please do not add more pressure and weight to them.

The talents should definitely go indie. 3k to 4k followers jumped ship just because they're still associated with Niji. If the talents can't afford new models/rigging, simply ask for a small donation of 2 or 3 dollars. Literally the amount of a McDouble from anyone willing to donate and it'll easily be covered. Doki could host them in a discord server and help them reconnect with their fanbase if that's something she'd want to do
They could start out as PNG tubers till they got their new models (I think time for finding an artist, making a model and rigging it is probably more of an issue then the money). Even if they recover only a fraction of their current subs the (much) higher cut of income will give them a better income.
Also I do not see Dokibird anywhere having any obligation or responsibility to help. And honestly I don't think she should (Let us not forget she is just recovering from a mental health crisis). She should only focus on herself and on getting better.

The hard part is discovery. An agency is supposed to provide a lot of things, but Niji isn't really giving them any support, *except* they automatically get attention by being part of the company. If and when they go back to being independent, they go back to having to struggle for even a small audience. It's a big, financial risk. You have to be careful with that sort of thing.

As I understand Anycolor posted a new manager opening on the relevant hiring website. Looks like rioting is what it takes for the higher ups to finally see the festering wound that is En's management.
If that is the case it was likely a scheduled listing made before the controversy. I highly doubt Anycolor is actually going to hire any more management for the EN side because they are most likely going to shut it down within 6 months. There is no future on the EN side anymore. They won't be able to hire any kind of decent talent because those with actual skill and experience will avoid Nijisanji auditions like the plague. Half the remaining streamers will likely have already left by then so it will be only a small amount of income vs a huge amount of constant controversy. There is no way in my opinion that Nijisanji EN will still be active by the other half of the year.
I actually found the listing; theyre still hiring Japanese for the management for EN. I dont think they will ever learn of the differences of JP and EN work culture at this point

3:35 I think it's pretty clear, and they state it the announcement: Selen violate the Activities Policy. Nijisanji has an internal process they want their talents to follow, regardless of the legal/permission status from copyright owners, before content is released. Selen didn't go through management, and they didn't like that. I'm not saying this is a good idea, a good process, or a good way to run a business. If the management can't properly follow up to the point that the talent has to to do their jobs for them, I can't blame the talent for bypassing process to see things get done.
We saw Pomu go through the 'proper' channels and get her once-in-a-lifetime opportunity denied, so Selen bucking procedure seeing something like that, I feel, is justified. She just bucked procedure that one time too many.

Yeah, corporate agencies require approvals for stuff, to ensure the legal paperwork is all in order, to maintain brand identity, and to keep the right image for the company and talents. Niji's big problem seems to be that it just doesn't communicate and/or refuses project proposals without reason. Its managers seem to be spread thin, or have no experience, or just not care. In contrast, Hololive's managers try to make their talents' projects happen, even if they can't always do anything they want.
Not everyone wants to work under the corporate lifestyle, but for those who do, it's imperative that the company actually be there for them and help their careers. Niji seems to just fail entirely on that front.

Oh, I can think of one other reason to remove her Last Cup of Coffee video-Power Politics.
She did all the right things, just not through the “right” channels as far as Nijisanji was concerned…in other words, she skipped some red tape, and in doing so, was seen as “disobedient” or “disloyal” by the managers whose rings she didn’t kiss “to their satisfaction.” And in power structures of all kinds, if the leadership is playing power politics, loyalty is EVERYTHING, so the instant it becomes clear you won’t be a good little peon and SUBMIT to the management’s every whim-no matter how transparently arbitrary (in fact, the more arbitrary the better from the perspective of “proving” you’ll bend the knee without question)-that’s seen as a crime in and of itself.
Matt Coleville, a D&D and other TTRPG youtuber, has an excellent video on Power Politics in the context of roleplaying powerful people titled “Diplomacy | Running the Game” and CGPGrey-a general-purpose edutuber-has his “Rules for Rulers” likewise explaining the dynamics involved. A lot of decisions powerful people make that don’t make sense in a purely rational context start to make a whole lot more sense when under the greasy gas-lamplight of Realpolitik-the application of power PURELY to have, keep, and expand power.

I have no idea who legit bullied Selen. Even if I knew I wouldn't start harrassing them. If there's anyone even semi competent in leadership at that company they should in the least address the bullying or term the actual person (s) doing it before it gets worse. Liver or not it shouldn't be tolerated, but this IS niji we're talking about.
I knew Doki wouldn't struggle to get back a bit on her feet. And I'm happy for her. I understand she went through a lot, still is going through a lot. I'm figuring out how to support her in my own way but in the meantime, always liking and posting positive comments on X on her doki posts.

I honestly think Selen should name and shame, whether it's livers or management. Yes, on the one hand that's a terrible idea, certain to result in a wave of harassment against anyone she names... which is why she probably won't. On the other hand, staying silent is tacitly protecting the perpetrators, while also resulting in harassment of others who are probably entirely innocent. As I see it, naming and shaming is the lesser of two evils at this point.
Edit: I was writing this before the video was finished, very glad to hear Khyo in agreement. There are few things I hate more than bullies, I don't think they're worthy of the human decency it takes to preserve their anonymity.
On yet another hand she really wants to leave all that behind, probably. Washed it away with the help of hospital's IV.

There was also mention in Niji's "Termination Notice" that she HAD lawyered up. who knows, maybe its just a lie by them, but I doubt a company would openly lie about legal actions taken against them, since that would come out eventually, and when it does, it would be a double black mark, one for lying and trying to cover it up and the actual lawsuit itself.

I feel bad for the innocent livers who didn't bully Selen caught up in all this. I want Nijisanji to collapse, but I also don't want them being left jobless and losing everything they worked so hard on. It also seems like a lot of livers have mental health problems, so I'm kinda worried about them. Ngl I wish someone would just leak who was bullying her.
They will be fine. The downfall of Nijisanji EN has been happening for a long time and they have a better view of it than any of us. They have had time to prepare and if they have not? Oh well that is on them. Job security as a content creator is a fantasy. It does not exist. Hopefully they are already in the process of leaving that terrible company and lets be real. Their fans will quickly find their past life and subscribe to them again. Yes, it will take time to rebuild what they lost and financially it will be less for some time. Yet the freedom of being away from that terrible company will be worth it. Also several of them are likely to be hired by agencies such as Vshojo and Phase Connect.

As I've said elsewhere, she just said "from within" without specifying even what category of employee she meant. Fellow Livers? Maybe, but it's hard to see any of them actually bullying her, as opposed to just joking around where she can banter back. Management seems the more likely culprit here.
There is a theory that management used livers to "persuade" to follow guidelines "or else". That instead of having argument with her - they just go to others and say "hey, can you tell her to obey or else it would be bad for us all? You can help your fried, right?".
I’ve stated this on DNs original video, I’ll state a shortened version here. The witch hunt won’t end without victims. That’s plain and simple.
In short, it’s a lynching with a righteous cause behind it. The most dangerous kind that runs not on logic but on emotion. (This terrifies me to no end, and thinking about the possibility of being on the receiving end has me trembling.)
Unfortunately, there is no escape for the livers from the abuse.
If they leave, they are presumed guilty. If they stay, they have to endure the wave. If they snitch, their friendships are over. Most importantly, if Doki hints or drops a name, that person’s career is effectively destroyed with REAL LIFE consequences until enough time passes that the wave moves on.
If it gets bad enough, Niji management CAN and WILL offer a SCAPEGOAT to protect themselves.
Unfortunately, due to a certain liver’s stance on the company. I have absolutely no doubt they are receiving the absolute worst of the abuse with heinous threats included. Again, let me reiterate, so far, this has been a LYNCHING with a righteous cause.
To add on. Kuro’s tweet was a plea of mercy. He and others understand that this indiscriminate wrath will destroy careers, lives, and communities.
While in my eyes it seems futile, I also plea for mercy. I do not ask you to stop or forgive but to at least take a moment to think about the power you wield and the consequences that result. Get the right people and limit collateral damage.

The dogpile is deserved... When a bandaid is ripped off, it hurts for a moment, but after the wound is healed, things are better in the long term. This is more painful than the ripping of a bandaid, but nijiEN completely collapsing is better for the entire VTubing sphere in the long term, even if it will harm a bunch of the livers with them as an unfortunate circumstance due to being on board a sinking ship. Keeping a tumor around is never a good thing, even if there is pain and loss involved in cutting it out.
I come back to this not even 2 hours to my dismay to find out that my predictions and statements above are true in the worst way possible. Currently, that liver mentioned above is being beaten down on all sides to the point the dedicated clippers are going private.
