This is a collab with Rakuten and NOT with the NBA. The main issue is that Rakuten is the NBA licensee to be able to sell NBA stuff in Japan. They are not allowed to sell outside of japan.
And then we have Hololive doing a baseball Collab at A ACTUAL BASEBALL STADIUM. Holy shit I not really interested in baseball yet that is so damn cool they doing that.

Hololive definitely succeeded as a company when the tickets sell out super quickly upon being open for purchase
And merch worldwide purchase. Having a good reputation also helps so they can get money from everyone. As much as Yagoo is wholesome, best girl where he would usually give some content for free at the end of the day it is all about the money. Like some talents genuinely love the fans and do it out of love but let's be real they are a business at the end of the day.

Their management doing great so far, just minor problems among fans like shipping issue in EU (I guess Cover already notice this, HoloJustice is their started line) or Cover underestimate the fans by only rent small capacity for HoloEN's concert.
Let's hope they keep it that way and keep doing great while improving the issues just like I said. We don't know what are the problems lies in the future after all.

The root of the problem is Niji not purchasing distribution rights from the NBA (collaborating directly with them). Due to them circumventing the NBA with the JP license holder, they can only ship to JP. Unfortunately I can't foresee availability outside JP without them either making deals with more license holders or biting the bullet and getting a license from the NBA.
Imagine thinking Riku paying beyond discount prices by actually purchasing NBA licensing rights to be able to ship outside of Japan

This is because Tazumi could only get a deal finalized with Rakuten as a nepotism connection, it's doubtful any company with a presence outside of JP sees them as anything but radioactive.

I mean, there was controversy with the NBA collab even before this, given they gave the spots to some weird people that actually spoke out that they are not interested in ball sports at all, while not giving spots to talents that spoke about actually being fans of the NBA before.

If you company is in the VR space, it sounds really appetizing. It falls apart when everyone not grifting realized that copyright is only as valuable as it's enforceability, which requires a central authority and nfts didn't actually offer anything more then default copyright protections that already exist.

Even though I don’t like those two I have to agree with you if you know anything about vox’s past life the you would know that he lost a lot and I think he’s scared of that happening again (plus that thing was 100% scripted), Luca is what ever to me like he’s funny sometimes and his model is nice but I didn’t really pay attention to the drama to much because I didn’t really like him.

The Mian problem is that the product is only licensed in Japan so I think Niji doesn't want to go through another merch company overseas to be able to sell it in other countries. They probably don't think there is enough people for there to be profit if they are using multiple companies just for licensing (and possibility of being denied in other countries).
Kizuna Ai isn’t back. She’s a pioneer and she defined her era. She should preserve that prestige of being the “first Vtuber”. She doesn’t need to come back.

My guess is maybe Ai will actually be an AI now (similar to Neuro)? Nozomi Kasuga probably seeded enough voice samples hence her announcement that she was done with the role.
@@NamelessGlasses It won't behave like her though, and that's something people will pick up on within the first stream. And even with hundreds of hours of voice recordings to sample, the AI voice will still sound 'off'. Seriously even the socially inept can generally pick up on mimicked voices rather quickly if they are familiar with the genuine voice.
If they wanted to do an AI with voice samples, they could've just done that with KZN, and not risk the MASSIVE backlash if they tried to pass the true Kizuna AI as anyone but the actual Kasuga Nozomi.
Licenses are very finely sectioned and divided for maximizing profit. Rakuten obviously only have a license to sell in Japan, and probably just limited to clothing (uniforms and caps etc.). They won't bend the rules for you, you will need to find your own way.
And lottery systems, or any kind of random mechanisms are extremely normal in Japan. You don't win a lottery, you pay until you win. With a lot of trash.

The NBA is surprisingly popular in Japan, and the sales for NBA merch is major money. I think the only reason Nijisanji is associating this with EN talents is because there is an implied connection between the NBA, which in American sport, primarily, and the EN livers who most are or are assumed to be American. It's not about selling merch to English-speaking Niji fans, it's about using minimal cost and effort to sell merch. Nijisanji focus is NOT on the EN fans at all- this is about selling merch to JP fans of the NBA using the likeness of their livers as promotional material.
First it is "negligible", now it is "unforgettable".

The VA officially retired after the debacle with that crappy and lackluster anime that was there to push Kizuna as the main VTuber of the world. Since her hiatus upda8 is seriously behind the 8 ball and is trying ways to make Kizuna Ai relevant as that was all they ever banked on, no new VTubers or anything, that the company still exists is astounding with this level of mid incompetence
Tbf I have purchased from Rakuten multiple times. You just need to register from a shipping company then they will give you an address etc. The license is with Rakuten and JP only, that’s why you can’t just purchase them from overseas.

For anyone who booked flights and hotels, I know it's extremely difficult, but if you still have a week or even just 2-3 days remaining for your expected departure and arrival, some airline do provide refunds (sometimes even partial), but in case the one you booked doesn't, the only thing I can suggest is to keep moving the date to the next available flight for a random month forward (eg. December) with the nearest similar ticket price of your flight. That way you don't have to pay the extra fee (if it's not mandatory) and the price difference of the ticket.

@@BeyondDaX Hololive fans come in literally all shapes, sizes and career paths. We have everything from plumbers to surgeons. I'm pretty sure if Cover wanted to, they could staff an entire office with Hololive fans. It wouldn't be hard to find literal thousands of fans who do normal office work, analytics, management, purchasing, contracting, real estate, accounting, HR, etc...

they certainly were underestimating the amount of EN fans that would go to this.
They went for that luxurious route because unfortunately the Kings Theater, while super luxurious and fancy, only seats 3000 people, which is half of the last EN Concert. So its pretty disappointing they cut the attendance in half but its not everyday you get to perform and attend at the Kings Theater. This should be a wonderful experience for Hololive and the fans attending the concert.

Almost everything the last 4 months are "official" tweets like merch drops etc. snince the chocolate cooking streaming (last stream she did) - and even if she's just taking a long break for her mental as she's burned out she'll probably graduate anyway because she'll probably realize that it was Niji causing the burnout

I think Niji is running into what was an inevitable land mine. Their abuses have been able to fly due to how Japan's legal system favors companies and corporations and doesn't have as much free speech protections. Essentially they've relied on the Japanese government to stack the deck. Obviously this can't work outside of Japan. Somehow Niji doesn't seem to understand this. It's fairly obvious stuff so I don't know if this is leadership just staring off into the distance while legal tries to explain things or if it comes from a "we'll make it work" mindset. Maybe they've just gotten away with so much stuff they fell into the cognitive bias that disasters only happen to other people. Whatever it is we're several months into the "we're changing things" phase and the only changes seem to be to move away from the EN market.
Now that i think about it, is it really NBA x Niji? Because if something went wrong and people trying to attack anyone, they'll attack Niji and NBA NBA know no shits about it

They did make an unforgettable experience for their fans. They'll always remember how they got scammed into wasting money, time, and off days for the company they are loyal to, to only then cancel the event they had to get a travel service, hotel service, convention ticket, and concert ticket because they wouldn't recoup their expenditure in revenue.
