I like the German version better; maybe b/c that's the first version I've heard, and I became so used to it over time that their English version doesn't even hold a candle to it. My favorite part of that version was when Abi sang "La-La" after Esther sang "Komm, lieber Franz; noch einen Tanz..." and in the second verse after Esther sang "Komm, lieber Franz" Abi said either "Ich bin hier" or "Ich bin doch da". This version feels empty because Abi didn't do those parts! Wonder why Abi left those parts out? Those were my FAVORITE parts! Anyways, I like this English version okay, LOL I like this version 40% and I like the German version 60% :D
***** I also like the Hebrew version, "Od Rikud Echad". It's on UA-cam, but I can't find the link. Back to the German version. The english version would have been good if Abi sang "La-la". And "the will's to be read" isn't that funny compared to "du wirst reich durch die Leich." (I speak very little German, haha).
I loved this song when I first heard it as a kid. It still holds up very well.
I always found the song sad, a story of an unfaithful wife
Just delightfully OTT!
R.I.P. Abi Ofarim (+ 2018).
Cool song.
Lovely song.
Yes a lovely bitter sad song, of an unfaithful wife

Also that song was originally in German, so...

I like also the German version more.
There is also another version in English, which is without orchestra. I think it's only with an acoustic guitar. I prefer that one.
witty - good for language classes
If you understand german try: Esther & Abi Ofarim - noch einen Tanz .Enjoy.
