    Something I've been thinking about lately is truly living from the most authentic expression of who you really are, not just some but most of the time.
    www.peakyourmind.com/how-to-ex...
    I was reflecting, you know, casually LOL. And I was thinking about how when most people start off taking control of their lives and raising their awareness it usually begins with some kind of emergence of what I call "The True Self".
    All that means is just a way of describing your true personality, that part of you that's unlimited.
    www.peakyourmind.com/how-to-ex...
    And when I was thinking about that I was just coming off a high of totally feeling in sync with that part of myself, feeling like I was totally in the flow with life. Do you ever feel like that?
    So I was wondering how can we stay connected to that True Self more often? How can we really live from that part of ourselves? And what things around us physically, mentally, and emotionally affect our ability to connect with that self?
    www.peakyourmind.com/how-to-ex...
    I know this might seem a little more philosophical or "woo woo" than the other episodes but stick with me on this.
    What this episode is really about is giving you a couple practical ways to help you connect to that unique expression of yourself and live aligned with who you really are.
    And that's what I'm excited to share with you in this episode of PeakYourMind: www.peakyourmind.com/how-to-ex...

    I do enjoy deep conversations too. But it is not always that you find people you cam have those kind of conversations with. Helping others and teaching small kids are probably the things that make me feel most alive.

    Being around children just makes me come alive. Also, crisis situations when things happen fast, I surprise myself with how brave I am and how good I am at taking control. In everyday life I am totally awkward and shy and beat myself up a lot for it. Thank you for a great reminder to seek out your best self situations!

    Things that make me feel alive: Talking about my feelings (yes I'm a guy don't judge), anybody who isn't rude or assume the worse about things, becoming close friends with people who aren't rude or assume the worse, and overcoming fears.

    Being here and not obsessing about the past or worrying about the future. All that is, is habitual denying oneself what is true right now.

    Great video! I enjoyed every second of it. To answer your questions I think what makes me feel the most authentic is just being outside and out of the house. When I'm home I feel like I'm a much slower person and not as exciting. And for what throws me off...visiting those "adult" websites haha.

    Reading medical books helps me feel good and then whenever I feel good there is this sort of insecurity that washes over me then I pull back to those disgusting habits of reducing my self worth. I am a very smart person- I'm not being cocky or anything- and I surround myself with even smarter people so it destroys my confidence in a way and that kills me ever time. You say we should surround ourselves with positive things but sometimes I feel useless when in with smarter people. What do I do to stop this. Pls reply I contemplate suicide at times and I really need help. Pls reply

    • @mrsmemrsme1569
      @mrsmemrsme1569 7 років тому

      Deb Orila Having suicidal thoughts is a crime for yourself. Wash it off , and the advice from me is this , be honest , be opinionated and be confident, i'm a smart person (i'm being cocky) and i'm often with people who aren't that smart and i feel they walk all over me because of their kind of confidence i'm confident but in an angry revolutionary way that people don't accept (wich have the right to do it) ,so watch this ted talk how to be yourself by caroline mchugh , it will help get things clearer

    • @brit4444
      @brit4444 6 років тому

      don't compare yourself to those around you. just focus on who you are and what makes you happy and FEEL YOUR BEST SELF. get to know who you are and feel it and love yourself.. i know with depressed and suicidal thoughts it's hard; i understand, but i want you to know that you are worthy of this life and you should take all advantage of that awesome opportunity! keep reading the medical books if that's what you love! hope this helps a bit.

    Love your videos, bro! Are you a psych major?

    • @PeakYourMind
      @PeakYourMind  10 років тому

      Thanks Rachael, I was! I love psychology and learning about human behavior and relationships. I decided to pursue a different degree because I wasn't a huge fan of the traditional psychology route and how many patients are treated.
      What's your major?
