- From the 1977 film "Wizards" a song featured only in the film. "Only Time Will Tell" sung by Susan Anton,
Here are the lyrics...
Time renews tomorrow,
When we've used today.
It will find the sorrow
And wash it all away.
Love can play a new tune
On this carousel.
It may be tomorrow,
But only time will tell.
Somewhere in the darkness
There must be a light,
Leading us together
Through the misty night.
And maybe in the new dawn
We can break the spell.
It may be tomorrow,
But only time will tell.
There can be a new dream,
One for us to hold,
Made with peace and hope
And built upon the old.
No one has the answer
To give away or sell.
Tomorrow holds the secret,
But only time will tell.
I am so pleased to say that I own this film. It is 1 of my favorites. I sometimes set it up on repeat so that I can listen to the theme song more than once.😀😀😀😀😁
One of the most underrated animated movies of all-time. All fans of animated moves need to see this. When the Wizards meet for the duel, it adds a twist...lol
It also started the voice career for one of the great Joker...errr... character voice actors in animation.
still love this song
such a beautiful song, what an amazing voice! love it forever!:)
2016 and I'm still coming back
rest in peace R.B.
So soothing and the lyrics ring true to life.
this song brings back s many memories
Have Stage four cancer. They will play this at me memorial
Yikes.
Man, that's beyond heavy..Such a beautiful song. I fell in love with it the first time I heard it maybe 30 years ago. Susan Anton said "somewhere in the darkness, there must be a light," and indeed there is. I hope you find it with minimal suffering.
Don't fear death, it is as natural as life.
We all come here and we all must leave...it's a journey not a destination
I love this song and the background scenes are perfect 🥰
What a unique and beautiful song.
FINALLY!! I loved this song so much. I've been looking for it EVERY WHERE to download. But this will have to do.
Here's a better mix of it. ua-cam.com/video/dyOTV8rqM9Q/v-deo.html
Tony, you made really, really good decisions on what footage to use. TOTALLY apropos! And a great movie, to boot!
capttheo1 this movie “wizards” is a storytelling epic and classic that has not gotten its deserved accolades
With the official CD sitting in front of me I see that the actress/singer Susan Anton is credited with the vocals for this song. Jesse Welles did a wonderful job with the other voice work but she did not sing this song.
Says Jesse Welles in the credits.
Always did like this one :)
It was Jesse Welles. Says so in the credits at the end of the movie. I can't find an MP3 or recording of it anywhere, and I've looked.
Well, on Wizards DVD Bakshi says that this song was sung by "a very famous model they wanted to shot singing in the movies". It's not the actress who voiced Elinore, they got different voices.
But thank you anyway :) It's a simple but very beautiful song.
thank you very much for this song.. It's so rare...
Thank you SO much for posting this!
Too Bad the DVD and Blu-Ray can't be found at any Goodwill. It would be a miracle to see it at Goodwill.
Later at Goodwill
(Finding both the DVD and the Blu-Ray on the shelf)
Me: Well... Hallelujah
I wish i could see this live man

Star Quinones you said “wish it all away”. It’s “wash it all away”.
Simply beautiful video and song!*m*a*k*e* +:D
there is no hope only doom and painful memories of life no dream
@Johnlindsey289 Good question. The rotoscoping in lord of the Rings and later American Pop, Fire and Ice is felt to be a cheat since the animaters were copying the live acters so closey but at least the tracing of the live action was physical work of some sort while the the motion capture used in Avatar has the computer copying every move of people wearing the transister suits! So the motion capture is a high tech version of the traced rotoscope. I prefer hands on animation techniques!
Check out the first season (1974) Rockford Files episode "Roundabout". An early 20s Jesse stars in this one as an aspiring Las Vegas lounge singer. You'll fall in love with her. This episode also has a lot of historic mid-70s Vegas footage.
Jesse Welles.
I almost forgot: The singer was Jesse Welles who also played Elinore.
It was, in fact, Susan Anton.
a paint brush or a software algorithm. where does the art stop. i think you are feeling the question. what made you feel a human where do you stop in that uncanny valley, where will your children stop. this song is awesome and somewhere i think the answer lays
This song would make a good AMV if paired with scenes from Brian Froud's "Faeries" (1981) and/or "Winds of Change/Metamorphoses" (1978) (the artist, Ploob, who disigned the Witch of Envy from the latter, also did the 'Illuminated History' sketches in "Wizards").
I heard a rumor here in Las Vegas that Cirque Du Soleil is planning to do a Wizards stage show.
Rumor has that it was actually Susan Anton; I've requested a response from her official webpage. She seems probably to be the most likely candidate. She would have been around 27 at the time and was just starting to make some lead way in her career. If it does turn out to be her, she should get credit. It's a beautiful song.
It was indeed Susan Anton. And there is a better mix of it here ua-cam.com/video/dyOTV8rqM9Q/v-deo.html
I recorded the song from the DVD with Audacity. Follow my example, and you could listen to it anytime!
(remember to amplify after recording is finished)
excelente cancion
@Coelacanth1938 Now THAT would be something to see. Wizards is one of the classic oddball 70's movies. Would be cool to see Cirque pull it off.
@tonycdrive imdb allows user-generated content. That mean that I can now click on "update" button there and change info about the song, without suing anyone. :)
And besides... what you don't Bakshi's words? Cause if you just don't believe me look up DVD and watch it with director's comments.
@tonycdrive
Like the gloves on that wizard.
@quantplus. She looks really good in that episode
This movie is so vague ;d
@tonycdrive I left Ralph Bakshi a note on his website to come here and clear the air. Let's see what happens.
So, is there no way to buy or get a copy of this song? I'd like to own it.
A dream
ɷ I Haveeee Watcheddd Thisss Movieee Leakedd Versionnnn Here : - t.co/e6QlTccFx6

Tonycdrive.... Do you still have the MP3 of "Only Time Will Tell" from the movie Wizards? I've been looking for it in vain. I'd love to have it.
Gary
poetic death youtube that
my inspiration
But interesting
The Wizards' main characters in Bakshi's animation are much better then the ones in his Lord of the Rings rotoscope animation. Ellinore has a certain Betty Boop charm and style! To watch my drawn from memory animation click onto my user name and watch my hand drawn videos, THE MAGIC ARROWS, THE WINGED SANDALS, THE COLOSSEUM, THE BLACK WIDOW and BALDER'S EGG on my channel page on you tube! Thanks for the nice video and song!
