This is the equivalent of someone trying to reclaim Chernobyl weeks after the meltdown lmao
Try Yellowstone erupting, and this dude came to claim the remains. Chernobyl not big enough compared to the DOOM
More like trying to reclaim Pompeii but I get your point.
Naah it didnt go bad cus of that. There was a monster There, strong enough to injure and force a retreat from BALERION himself, a monster of a dragon. A dragon like balerion wouldnt be injured the way he was simply by environmental hazards
@@DrDoom931not as big as yellow stone, that volcano is world ended when it erupts lmao, doom of Valyria only destroyed Valyria.
@@YeahRight-dy8un literally destroyed the entire continent and sunk it under the sea. Sit down kid
Dude probably walked straight into toxic fumes and poisoned himself in his army to death.
I think so too. But hear this- The town nearest to Valyria is inhabited by these mutated people, multiple heads and limbs and other deformities are common. I wonder if toxic fumes, or other factors are what’s causing those transformations, and if so what happens to those who get even closer to the ruined stronghold? Could it be that the reason there wasn’t a single survivor is because they’ve all died to or were turned into John Carpenter-esque shambling horrors? Is Valyria dead or have the surviving inhabitants changed? Something is there that is big enough to wound Balarion- I could envision a mutated writhing mass consisting of the 30,000 troops and a dragon doing such a thing.
@@FreakincidentI think its most likely that there were horrible toxins in one or most of the fourteen flames that thingafied the Targarians.
Maybe the joined the stone people
@@Freakincident The books hint at fire wyrms existing in Valyria. Aerea is infected with worm-like snake things with hands that cook her from the inside, and it's that trip to Valyria that wounds Balerion. The Faceless Men tell Arya of fire wyrms that lived in the Fourteen Flames. So I think the most likely reason for Valyria's dangerousness (aside from magical radiation or whatever) is probably fire wyrms that now breach the surface because of Valyria's increased volcanic activity. I can imagine Aurion's host getting scattered by a monstrous fire wyrm and then dying to the noxious fumes and shit.
@Freakincident I imagined something similar. The idea that Balerian could be hurt by anything post-Doom was unbelievable, considering his legendary size... unless, he was attacked by something even bigger and more vicious. Automatically thought that only the dragon from the emperor's army could survive in a toxic magic wasteland. If Balerion came back in that bad of shape, I figure that the emperor and his troops are for sure dead. Mutants would be a cool story, though!
Aurion: I am the new emperor!!
Valyria: And I took that personally.
😂
Could have taken essos for himself and prevent the century of blood by using his dragon to beat back the dorthraki
@T€RB yes, what I'm saying is if he didn't and just ignored valyria he could have conquered essos
He probably would have been killed in the same manner as the other surviving dragon lords, assassinated with their dragons poisoned or chased off after their rider's death.
@@FamilyChannel-yv1xv yea the faceless men would probably get to him, or he could have won. We'll never truly know. Grrm should write some what if stories
@@thereviewsection I agree, the faceless men let the targaryens, velyrons, and celtigars to live, why not this guy?
@@FamilyChannel-yv1xv I think it's because they left essos and didn't try to conquer that continent or braavos
The fact that one person can come up with these stories with so much detail is astonishing. In 33 years he created an entire universe with unlimited nuances within it. Absolutely extraordinary.
33 years is almost two generations. I'm astonished by his dedication.
This is like the secretary of labor surviving a nuclear attack because he was on vacation and then returning to name himself “emperor of America” and dying from radiation poisoning
Would love a prequel movie just with this.
Just a 10 second shot of Aurion burning to death atop his dragon would make for an artistic masterpiece
@@haru-chan8762
Well, that or we see him, his Dragon, and forced face off against Valyrian-made monstrosities, Fire Wyrms, noxious fumes, active volcanoes, etc.
but some random nerd who doesnt like reading will say the mystery is cooler then anything actually told
Imagine seeing Aurion, his Dragon, and his Army face off against Valyrian-made monstrosities, Fire Wyrms, noxious fumes, acid rain and active volcanoes? An interesting Mini-series or short movie in the making
While I think it could be amazing, it would also ruin the mystery of the doom of Valyria. Thus far nobody knows what happened, and why nobody who enters returns (like here, where 30 000 men just disappeared). There are some theories, but none are confirmed yet. We don’t know whether he died because of the things you mentioned, or if they perished because of something else.
it could be cool but I prefer the mystery, it's half the fun afterall
Yeah, that would be great
@@lividlarry1026 can you tell which theories are involved?
@@lividlarry1026 I think The Crows Eye aka Euron Greyjoy has been to Valyria and survived.
Bro said “say less” and got folded
I'd love to get more information on what happened to Valyria, The Doom, and this Emperor of Valyria
I would say the mistery that surround valyria is what make it so intriguing and interesting, just like white walkers or the children of the forest. That's why I think we will never find out what exactly it was, so people can wonder and debate for ever about it. Very similar to tom bombadil in lotr, Tolkien never said what exactly he is. And people talk about it till this day
Declarant emperor. He Inspired from the Great Sulla.
@@kristiankopera I think that from the information that we do have, we can say with a reasonable amount of certainty that The Doom Of Valyria was brought about by a volcanic eruption.
@@mattjack3983 We can infer a volcanic eruption was part of it but this is an area that’s inundated with volcanic activity and volcanic eruptions aren’t anything special or new for the citizenry. It was certainly something more - either magical or firewyrms or both
@@AnarexicSumofrom what we know it seems like a super vulcano eruption remiscent of what would happen, if yellowstone blew up. So valyria was propably like yellowstone Park is now.
This Valyria stuff reminds me of the Bermuda triangle and how both of them made people disappear without a trace
I think it because of some thing on the smoking sea who Tyrion saw on book.
Based on Atlantis from what I've seen, but definitely pulled inspiration from many places
Fun Fact: The Bermuda Triangle is one of the most heavily sea trafficked places in the world, and it's really not that mysterious at all.
@@mattjack3983 Yeah people confuse myth with conspiracy/super natural power.
Doom That Came to Sarnath
Ppl seem to not understand the Targaryens weren’t even the most ROYAL HOUSE OF VALYRIA😂they were just a low income family that survived and sailed off to Westeros with their dragons.
They still Considered as One of 40 Dragonlord..That dragonlord sistem take inspired by Roman Gens/Family like Claudius & Julia.
where did you get this information pls send us? and stop misinformation pls
@@tariizm1500 the books. I read the books. It’s not misinformation ITS ACTUALLY A BIG KNOWN FACT. if u didn’t know that then just say u learned something new.
They weren't in Valyria during the doom because an ancestor dragon dreamed of the doom & persuaded the house to move to Westeros before it happened.
@@jt5765 Yeah they fleed 12 year before the doom but in that time Targaryen still Considered as one of 40 Dragonlord Family. maybe they was weakest among the Dragonlord but still a big treat for continent power.
Either a Balrog like fire demon remains in Valyria or Fyre Worms completely took over
In fanfiction Darkness rising is one balrog true Doom of Valyria! 🌋🌋🌋🌋
Must be the fire worms or else Sam would've pursued his dream of becoming a wizard.
Balrog would destroy a dragon, flames would do nothing to him. And he would cut them to pieces.
Imagine a series set in old valeria before the doom, with dragons flying everywhere !
A series would be too long, a 3 hour movie would be perfect with all the information we have so far
To much cgi at this moment too expensive and just not possible. Maybe animation can solve this.
@@Dani_1012 I like that idea,. A good movie will do 💯
Imagine indeed...the budget for such project would be enormous.
Boring. No story to be told. Valyria in all its glory then volcanoes erupted. The end
Aurion wasn't the only non-Targaryen dragon lord to survive the Doom either. There were many dragonlords and dragons on Lys at the time. Somehow the commoners of Lys learned of the doom before their overlords and used the opportunity to kill all the dragonlords in their beds and to slay the dragons while they were chained up in their dragon stables. To me that is the biggest hint that the Doom was not accident but part of a conspiracy.
I bet the reason most of the dragonlords were in Valyria is because they were all called back shortly before the doom
but isnt these valyrian on lys just with small and weak dragons? Balerion is so young and almsot died to a mob too, and this guy survived on Qohor and took a army, maybe his dragon was even bigger than Balerion(at the time at least, balerions was young too).
@@BIGluisluis you're absolutely right
i’m confused they say aurion was a targ?
@@trunks4139Targaryens came almost after 120 yrs after the doom of valyria..there was no " Targaryens " back then in valyria before doom..and the most houses and races that were there before the doom is still unknown except some..
Poor guy he fucked around and found out. Also I find it extremely hard to believe that every single dragon except for the Targaryens and oryo or whatever were in valyria. Like would they want to spread themselves out, like have some dragon lords posted throughout their lands to ensure no one acted up!?! And was he the only one that took vacations?
There were others mentioned in Lys and Myr I believe, but the small folk killed them and their dragons before they had a chance to regroup
thats was a rule. yes a few were around but the rule it seemed like were the weapons of mass destruction were all at the hub. it could be thats where all power lies so people wanted to be near court and where decisions were made to be in the know. but the majority of the dragons except for the targs and maybe a small amount of dragon lords were there. besides the dragons also flourish better near volcanos. it was the same on dragon stone, they grow large around heat. when taken away they don't grow as large. and Valeria was on the 14 flames so thats the biggest volcanos known to man. It was a mountain range of volcanos
nope, the power was based on valyria itself, the richers there, they would not distance themselves from it, they even dont like the idea of conquer westeros becaus they would need to stay there and be far away from the real money and magic on valirya, and Yi Ti the rivaling empire at the time could defend itself from dragons probably, they have magic, a gigantic population, and maybe some tech to kill dragons better than big ballistas
there are more dragons in essos and even southoros. just wild and untamed.
He could've gone about creating an Empire across Essos but instead wanted to try and reclaim a destroyed civilisation.
Aurion: Hey guys, let's go to a post apocalyptic place. What could go wrong?
Man could've probably allied with the Targaryens and United Essos before the Dothraaki invaded and caused the Century of Blood. Him and the Targaryens were the last of the Dragonlords lol and most of the great dragons got wiped out.
Don't go to Valyria is a lesson history keeps trying to teach us.

Whats a firewyrm
@@alexterieur8813 A Gigantic Worm who have Firerly Body who live in Volcano in Valyria
@@alexterieur8813 In Game of Thrones Firewyrms are snake like creatures that have arms. They live in really hot places, like volcanos and can get ridiculously huge. They can breathe fire, but they can not fly. It’s believed the blood mages crossbred Fire Wyrms with Wyverns, and created Dragons.
Over the years, mining deep down in Valeria resulted in waking up an ancient Fire Wyrm and that started the Doom of Valeria. That Fire Wyrm or one similar is also responsible for beating the crap out of Balerion the Black Dread which is one of the largest known dragons.
This is why Jorah the Andal says he’s not afraid of the doom but pirates are.
Even after the doom, 30k people go missing. In the minds of many, The land is cursed.
30k people, and an entire dragon. Gone. Just like that.
Could've set up shop there in Qohor but no he thought going back to the country that exploded was a good idea
Just imagine this guy would have tried to hold the rest of it together instead of marching into an active vulcano
I would love to hear more about this story!
[hears about the doom]
"I guess I'm in charge now"
There were also some Dragon lords in some of the most populated colonies of the Freehold (the future Free Cities) for vacation or business, but apparently as soon as rumors of the Doom spread mobs of locals ambushed and killed them all, it looks like the people weren’t too happy with the situation they had under Valyria’s dominion
yes thats true I forgot about that. lol yes they werent happy. I wouldn't be happy being subdued by huge flying lizards who's shadow covered whole towns when flying above in addition to their superior tech like valerian steel and glass candles.
Maybe Aurion has a massive dragon, bigger than balerion (other families on valyrian have much bigger dragons after all) and dont get killed because of that.
Dude probably could’ve asked the Targaryen lords on Dragonstone for help and subjugated Westeros way earlier than Aegon did but greed is a wild wild thing I guess
Yeah he even named himself Emperor just to make sure it sticks but eyy sometimes having dreams is bad idea. Imagine if he was like "let me just chill for a few years"
Bro could’ve been a contender 😭 he could’ve been somebody. He could’ve started a family and created a completely different line of dragonlords, but nah…
They should do a sequel series about some evil immortal dragon lords…
It would be cool if bran greenseeed into the past and saw old valriya at its glory
There were no weirwood trees in Valyria.
He can't.

they were eaten ig, by whatever prowls those lands. balerion went there a d returned with massive scars, and his rider had wierd worm-like creatures inside her body, the heat coming from her cooked her from the inside. more than likely is, there is some sort of entity like the Night King that lives there, except this one commands fires.
Lord of Light?
I’ve said the same thing. Euron went there and his crew found a newly made armor that couldn’t have possibly survived the doom and an intact dragonbinder horn.
I believe whatever/whoever is there used blood magic and sacrificed the entirety of the Valyrian empire for great power, but is now unable to leave the land like Father from FMA: Brotherhood.
Bro just survived the doom and decide to go back and die
People didn't know that the situation was so bad, that there were incurable diseases, and all kinds of crazy zombies.
they really need prequel of Valyria its self and the 40 dragon families, thats wat house of dragons should been about
What if his dragon is the cannibal?
It would make sense why no one has ever been able to claim it
The Cannibal was apparently on Dragonstone *before* the Targs showed up, make of that what you will
Deffo a hard no, Cannibal is "wild"-ish, If he was already ridden by somebody, he would have accepted another dragonrider easily.
@@AlexLangerak after wtf happened in valyria he may have changed
The cannibal might be around the age of Vermithor. The smallfolk made stories about him but he was not even talked about by the time of Aegon nor Jaehaerys. It was clear that the biggest was Balerion, followed by Vhagar, then Vermithor. Cannibal was large but not as large as the three.
That would make the Cannibal as old as Vaeghar, during the dance. I don't think so, I believe the Cannibal's rider never rode him or bonded. Jaeherys' pius son's 🐉 grew equally as stern & spent his life with the Faith at an early age. I believe he rejected the🐲
People inside the ASOIaF and irl (based on these comments) definitely don't understand what the Doom actually was.
If you heard that *FOURTEEN* volcanoes previously only kept dormant by fire mages, and likely building in pressure over those centuries+ of restraint, had just exploded all at once killing not only every Dragonlord in the Freehold but every dragon... why would you go there AT ALL? 1 volcano is devastating enough, and we're talking all FOURTEEN that Valyria was basically built on top of.
Ambitious or not, that is a HUGELY dumb idea, especially when you and your huge dragon(s) could now have basically ruled over all of Essos unchallenged by any rival worth worrying about, just as the Targaryens did in Westeros.
Greed was Aurion's bane.
Well he probably wouldn't have been the Lone Dragon rider. Let's say he decides to not go to Valyria and sets up shop in one of the free cities. GRRM has confirmed that there were Dragonriders in other free cities at the time but the smallfolk rose up and killed them and potentially their dragons before they could "regroup" so to speak. Aurion going to Valyria and disappearing pretty much sealed the fate of any Dragonriders left. If he didn't go then the Aurion could have gathered up at least a few called them to where he was and established a Valyrian empire.. even if he still ended up the last Dragonlord in Essos the Targaryens proved that they were more than willing to get involved in Essos wars when they felt like it. Many people forget that before the Targaryens conquered Westros they pretty much singlehandedly stopped Volantis from Conquering the other free cities (now imagine if Volantis had a Dragon lord or two for that war)
Well... idk about ashai
@@mouse3872 yeah, he could have done *that* and he chose instead to go back to Valyria and die a pointless death 🤣. He was almost certainly the most powerful Dragonlord in that part of the world at the time. A large dragon and 30,000 men could easily conquer at least Volantis, Lys & Qohor.
@@TheAntiTrope oh definitely the only competition he probably would have had would be the Targaryens. I mean we know when Volantis attempted to conquer the other free cities the Targaryens used their dragons against them and pushed them back. Now imagine if this guy had taken over Volantis and was doing the same thing with his dragon And the Targaryens attempted to stop him it would be like the Dance but in Essos instead
It’s heavily implied that the faceless men killed the fire mages holding it back
he shoulda took that dragon and 30000 men and went west...Thats more men than Aegon had when he first invaded although he had more dragons he still would've beat them to the punch or even linked up with them the Valeryons and Targaryens and the Celtigars and His Line coulda started a new Valeria
Honestly I think the mystery of Valyria is what makes it so great. The catastrophe itself is a mystery, and the ruins are just as mysterious. It’s just this plot of land that somehow causes people to disappear or suffer severe injury like when that one Targaryen Princess who was flown to Valyria on I think Balerion, and came back with an absolutely traumatised dragon and a body full of flaming parasites. We’re left to imagine what could possibly be happening at Valyria.
ahhh yes the blood wyrms am i right?
I do think there could be more unveiling while still keeping it mysterious. Like other creatures coming outta there or some freaky ass ppl living on the edges of the ruins. There apparently was some kinda throwaway implication that Mantaris or w/e, the last closest city to Valyria, is full of mutant cultists that are gonna join the attack on Mereen
Nah, a few mysteries is great. A giant unanswered hole in the story? Annoying and lazy
I don't mean to be that guy, but I don't think Valyria was an empire. Martin is very specific about the fact that it is a freehold basically ruled by a whole bunch of noble families free of a king or emperor.
More like Roma from Republik day.
this is why he make himself the FIRST emperor of Valyria, because it dont have a imperial system before, after all he could command everything unoposed if the was the only bigger dragonrider left in valirya.
Aurion: I will conquer Old Valyria.
Aurion's men: You mean the one that just got decimated by a volcano erupting?
Aurion: Yes! Why?
Aurion's men: The one that's completely submerged in flames?
Aurion: Yeah! What of it?
Aurion's men: Okay! On an unrelated note, if we choose to retire right now, what's our pension plan gonna look like?

It’d be really cool if some Valyrians escaped before the doom and maybe traveled very east of essos or sothoryos
There had to be dragons bigger than Balerion....
Yes, its confirmed that the other families in valyrian has bigger dragons than balerion, the targs are a minor noble family, sure the most important families has bigger dragons
Yes. It's stated that the Targaryens were minor, compared to the others.

Man flew himself into an exploding super volcano
This short completely covered Aurion's page on the ASOIAF Wiki, his page is that short. That said, the short changes just enough sentence structures to avoid being considered plagiarism.
So what Valyria is like the Bermuda Triangle of GOT where 30,000 soldiers and a giant ass dragon just disappears???
A series of random events would be cool
Fire Wyrms : *Hey, snacks!*
Cool photos. Where did you get it?
Maybe their descendants are still there. I know we saw drogon flying over valyria when Jorha was taking Tyrion to Dany, but what if that wasn't Drogon but another dragon?
Don't. The series's Valryia were not the book's. If Tyrion and Jorah went that way, they would die/never return/return full of worms.
@@AlexLangerak Yeah I know i've read some of the books but TV wise it would've been fun to think about
People saying they want a movie don't understand most of the allure of the lore is the mystery surrounding it. Y'know what gets destroyed the second we put it onto the screen? All of the mystery surrounding it.
I like to think it was Aurion's dragon that gave Balerion the gash on his side when he and Aerea went there and the fact Balerion was able to fly back to Westeros would mean he was able to kill or at the very least fatally wound Aurion's dragon.
Some belive he was From House Belaerys same like Jaenara Belaerys. who was Dragonlord like the Targaryen but have more Political influence. Also Qohor during that time was Colony like likely control by House Belaerys.
He was from House Varezys, he was actually at Qohor for a Vacation in fact!
@@nickpapadopoulos9978 Is not. From 40 Dragonlord Family only 2 we have known their name from book, House Belaerys & Targaryen. Also In Qohor Aurion was not in Vacation but he was watching for colony progres/Business trip. Many indicate him is from House Belaerys because Northern colony of Valirya was their rights to manage it.
I really want to know more about the doom of Valyria. Ik most people prefer it to be kept a secret or untold, but we all live a mortal life and it’s in our nature to be curious so it wouldn’t really hurt anyone if George RR Martin made it’s backstory
Well it'd be nice to get more weird revelations a la Aerea & Balerion returning with scars & wyrms. As of now the thought that it's just a bunch of dragon-snakes keeping ppl away from Old Valyria is kinda boring, I hope we get some hint there's other things lurking there and/or someone confirming they've been there and are keeping quiet about it
I would love to Aegon The Conqueror Series have this guy in it too to showcase the folly of returning to a blighted Valyria. Also to intrigue audience even more of old Valyria before the doom so we can get a series set in old Valyria centuries before the doom.
Literally everyone dies. “By a unanimous support, I am now emperor
-and thats how we established our empire within valerya without anyone else knowing.
Be funny if what beat balerion back all those years ago was an extremely powerful empire who has managed to thrive in the ruins and to supplement the single dragon, started relying on firewyrm variants as well.
I actually did not know this, but I wish there was more info about.DAMN IT!! I love the mystery of everything yet hate it so bad. I need to know everything!

16:43 solid yung convoy ❤
I imagine him basically walking into a Dark Souls level, at lv 1, unarmed, on New game Plus.
I respect his cojones.
The first emperor....and the last.
I never understood how you could lose this many soldiers. I could see him flying in and start choking and then would turn his army around. Also a few miles into Valyrian territory you would see the ground was molten rock and the very place too hot for any regular person. How did he and his army not turn around before being wiped out?
Or something got them as well waiting for any survivor or dragons
I always wondered wtf his plan was raising an army and marching it into a freshly bombed out crater. Like, who was he trying to fight? The Valyrian capital just blew up and basically everyone else with dragons (besides the relatively irrelevant Targaryens) was dead. The logical thing would have been to just set up shop in Volantis for example, restabilise the rest of the Freehold from there and worry about Valyria proper later.
Also, how did he think he was going to supply 30,000 men, the accompanying baggage train and a dragon in a charred ashscape? Really not the brightest, huh?
People didn't know that the situation was so bad, that there were incurable diseases, and all kinds of crazy zombies.

And they say euron has been to Valyria. No fucking way
It s confirmed by George RR Martin that Euron has been to valyria
It isn’t confirmed, anything that is not in a published book isn’t canon. We saw what happened to people who went to Valyria on the previous books. He says he went to Valyria and had a Valyrian steel suit of armour apparently.

I had a maybe kinda cool idea for a job snow sequel ( to the show) when he had made his made a small free city beyond the wall, giants, children of the forest, moon worshippers, one or a few claiming to be snow priests, at a certain point a Stoney figure with that of a ashen dragon perhaps the size of the black dread along with some fire/shadow giants clothed in gleaming white grass, also leading is what would be The Faceless Queen, a fire priestess, interested in Drogon and Jon Snow, claiming that Azhor Ahai must never continue his work in the north. At a certain point Brann wards into Drogon and Jon becomes his new rider saving much of the people, giants, children of his new freehold. He raises an army and gives chase into the shadowlands. At this point Drogon would be quickly gaining size, speed, and power beyond that of Vhagar
It’s a silly idea but I thought Could lead to a rebirth of Valyria in a sense as Drogon has produced a church of eggs and Bran teaches him how to speak to Drogon and care for the eggs, and bind them to people in a manner sober in old Valeria
This dude only was able to declare himself emperor after the doom, that means that at its height there were probably a dozen or more dragon riders more powerful with larger dragons...
Was he and his dragon the one who doomed Balerian and Aerea?
Why don't ee have shows about this? I wanna see😭
Man, I really wanna know WTF is/was goin on after the Doom. Too many people tried going for various reasons and nobody came back? Well accept that 1 time, but she didn't last long
What if he survived and laid foundation and was successful to do so and has been gate keeping valyria since then, as when the black dred visited valyria he came back with scratches and wounds caused by possibly another dragon ??
While Targaryens were emulating tyrells waiting patiently and growing strong looking west instead of east
So no scouts, no advanced parties....
....well done dragon lord custer
With all the dragon seeds, they’re trying to muster up to help fight the dance, and Jon Snow, there are probably plenty of Targaryen’s running around Westeros.
This vedio has nothing to do with Targaryens lol
He could have conquered all of Essos.
Targaryens were like the 43rd lowest house in Valyria barely in the top 50
I want a show about the Doom of Valyria and Aegon's conquest of Westeros.
Seems like the Valyrians were like Celestial Dragons without the theoretical equality.
Edit: and the Targaryens were basically the Donquixote family 😂
Bro had the chance to make a new empire for himself 😂 but he chooses to die in his birth place 😂 he must had a dragon like balarion poor dude 😂
